Cardigans have a few great tracks. This album a bit samy as Nina’s voice lacks colour for me. Ok listen.
Not my favourite Zep album. Immigrant Song the only real stand out for me. However, worth a listen…
Brilliant album when it came out. A few tracks not stood test of time for me. So I wobbled between four and five stars…but nostalgia won!
Full of energy. Early punk counter to glam, prog, etc. so refreshing at the time. A bit same same though.
Easy one for me. Class all through. If u can get through without cutting your wrists it’s a straight 5.
A few hints at proggy guitar stuff but not that great. Lead singers voice very pitchy.
Nice and rocky. I like it.
Quite liked this despite thinking country and folk are the Devils work.
Just great. Such a cool album. Really caught my Latin mood today. Haven’t heard it for years but gets a big yes from me.
Strange one. I enjoyed this more than I remembered. But basically just Irish folkish. Musicians actually very good, but SM can’t sing. Best tracks are those where he shuts try or is drowned out. Sort of stuff it’s ok to hear drunk in a smoky bar…but out of place in list.
A bit nothing really. Couple of ok dancy tracks, but that’s it for me.
Not terrible enjoyed more than expected but nothing great. Bit different from Sex Pistols days.
Some excellent tracks but quite a few skip throughs. Better memory of the CD than the reality of recent listening.
Sorry young people. Really not for me. Great beats, although very similar, gets it the 2. It’s angry street poetry - which works if you are a discrimated against West coast dude, but I’m not….
Whiny songs about tedious US country life. I gave a 1 on the basis that you can’t give zero.
Not really a fan. But album had more depth than expected.
Guy has a serious voice. But very dated.
Yep. Serious talent. This just one phase…
Brilliant lyricist. Some great songs. But not a fan of his voice - or the universal melancholy. Not the sort of guy you’d take to the pub for a fun evening….
A bit bland for me, but not unpleasant. Could listen in an elevator or walking round a shopping mall.
I enjoyed this. Early trip hop? Will listen again. I’m in a good mood so went generous with the rating.
Same comments as last time….album very similar.
I like the Doors. Feels like I’m back in Nam, M16 on Rock’n’Roll, stoned outta my box, waiting to shoot up the Viet Cong……
Good album. Raw as common with the Stones. SWTD an absolute classic.
Not for me. Compare vs Santana latinesque genius and it’s weak. Could be background music in the right mood - so 2 not 1.
Some of the water tastes a bit stale. Otherwise innocuous album.
Tremendous feel good album. Used to play this one when I wanted to boost a low mood when I was at Uni. Great.
Solid album. Quite heavy at points with a somber sound overall.
Another goodie, though not my personal favourite.
Could listen to this again. Nothing extreme going on but good sounds.
Probably sounded better when released. Couple of good tracks but nostalgia rather than really enjoyed.
Mostly blandish, though a couple of good tracks.
Lightish voice complements darker lyrics and beats. I like this a lot.
A bit bland for me. But not unlistenable
I’m going to be positive on this. Though Bruce can be a bit vocally one-dimensional.
One of my favourite Queen albums. Full of fantasy allusions a big noise.
All the old feel good bangers. No Michael Buble to be seen. So only the Grinch would give it a weak mark.
More cliches than the fleas on an ole hound dogs back. Not my thing, the American West myth and surrounding bollix.
I love a bit of Ozzy shouting at me in the morning. Better than Berocca. This album pretty much kicked off heavy rock.
I like the angry energy of punk. But as with HipHop I don’t empathise. Not really into the Spex but like the use of sax. A change from most punk. Hence the rating.
Listenable. But repetitive. Not the best jazz for me.
The queen herself. Some good old soul rhythms with attitude.
Great voice. Some great tracks.
Actually loved the Afro beats in this. Did not expect to rate it.
Ok. All quite comfortable plinky plonk. Easy listening but nothing compelling.
Oliver’s Army is a classic. But most of rest of album pretty mediocre for me.
Some excellent tracks. Some not great. Overall worth a listen if you like the Bluesier Doors.
Some nice tunes. But a lot of bland stuff.
Really enjoyed this. Not heard much of NC before. Assumed he was dreary. But album had blues, gospel, rock in it. I’m feeling positive so a 4 from me (probs a 7 out of 10)
Solid rock album. Some heady bangers.
A bit of Bobs always fine man. But quit mood dependent for me. Normally backgroundish. This one no different.
Loved DS at the time. Sometimes a bit self indulgent, but great stadium rock. Occasionally still listen - but to selected tracks. Worth a 4 I think for BinA and MforN.
Unsurprisingly not for me. Beats are ok. Guys spend too much time singing about themselves and how great they are. They overestimate themselves.
Terrible. No redeeming features for me. The Lord should have taught them to Shut The F*ck Up.
Not a fan of the Bunnies (…..the Bunnies….). My ears kept switching off (…..switching off……)
Some good stuff but vocals a bit whiny. Worth a listen in the right mood.
Loved it. Better than Stadium Arcadium for me. Even with a cheeky couple of Jimi Hendrix covers sneaked in.
Couple of their classics, but album a bit lightweight for me overall.
Surprised myself. I liked this. Some interesting musical stuff going on. And good beats. He can’t sing - but probably doesn’t need to.
So. Finally I listen to the Big man. I get the tight verbal. It’s very precise and articulate. And the beats are solid. However all the tough guy misogynist stuff is all sorta black Andrew Tate so only a mid from me.
Skip track. More shit. Skip another. Worse. Skip, skip, skip. 10 minutes of my life I’ll not get back.
Some great prog music. Superb musicians. However still not my favourite KC album due to some wishy washy or flashy tracks
Bob always been a bit Marmite for me. Gotta acknowledge his songwriting ability though. Although some of his best songs have a better cover version.
Trouble when you hear poor rock is that it makes you think it’s all like that. Shouty teenage bedroom rock jam.
A couple of ok-ish tracks. But then the guy insists on singing…..
Love the trip hop drifty tones of Portishead. Like wading through light multicoloured treacle. Not music for a low mood though.
Enjoyed. But not so much as last KW album.
Favourite Floyd album. WYWH takes me back to a happy time when several friends were still alive. Nothing else to say.
Thought this was very chilled. Could easily have it on in background. No idea if it’s cool to like “tame” rappish stuff. Lol
Mostly liked the gloomy stoner rock. Almost gave it a 4 but some repetitive stuff dragged it back for me. Thoroughly depressed after listening though. Put my hoodie hood up and rocked back and forward just a little.
I feared this was gonna be more shit kickin’ country. But much more bluesy. Good for me.
Yeah. Gotta go with 4. I love the raw energy of this. Like a (slightly) more musical punkism. Only challenge is the cardigan thing. Never ever a good look - even on 1950s pipe smoking guys.
Like Elton’s famous numbers. Great lyrics and music. Too many middle of road though in this. Could have gone 4, but didn’t.
Hmm. Very raw shouty. No colour to the music. Some solid guitar riffs allow me to present a 2.
Never really a GnR fan. SCoM brilliant. Rest shouty US soft rock.
Combination of varying speed aromatherapy massage music. But not unpleasant.
Some quite nice east listening stuff. Though I expect the robots will win.
Didn't know this band, but really enjoyed the album. Hit my mood bang on.
Liked the exotic a Cappella. However my Xosa is very limited so did not get the lyrics and music started to sound very samy.
Poor lonely Ray. I think I counted 12 girls who had binned him in that album. Music a bit dated fir me, but sympathy allows a 2.
So I know he’s a genius. I know hes worked with or produced everyone. But…..it’s fine as long as he doesn’t do the pub folk singery thing. Which he does. So not for me mostly.
Unusual, as expected from the Ice Pixie. Interesting voice, but a lot of quite discordant stuff.
Some tremendous tracks. I remember listening to a mate playing Brighton Rock in awe when I was 17. But some tracks a bit self-indulgent Glammy reduces it to a 4.
Not aged well for me. Psycho Killer allows me to give a 2.
Usual western tropes. Lonesome guy on a hoss, getting pissed about by his true love. Tuneful enough, but tired themes.
Pretentious, but quite easy listening.
Used to love S&G. Loved the contrast to my usual Prog Rock. Still a great album for me.
Love most of the funk. Had impure thoughts about several of the sisters back in the day.
Had this album. Likeable stuff. Feels a bit like the US Kinks for the noughties.
I’m a big fan. However tracks on this album very mixed for me. Maybe not quite in the mood so a 3.
Fun album. Some great songs but also some dated stuff.
