Rio by Duran Duran

Unique-ish sound. All I can really hear is Hungry Like The Wolf over and over though.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Dec 02 2025

Songs: "15 Step" 6/10, "Bodysnatchers" 6.5/10, "Nude" 6/10, "Weird Fishes" 7/10, "All I need" 6/10, "Faust Arp" 6/10, "Reckoner" 7/10, "House of Cards" 6.5/10, "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" 7/10, "Videotape" 6.5/10. Thoughts: I like the sound of the main singer's voice. Good instrumentals. But I am not a fan of the electronics they use in the background. Less electronic than Ok Computer. Most songs are sad sounding, sad lyrics, sad beats. Much more instruments than the other albums I heard. Really a slow album. Rating: 6/10. I'm not blown away by it, but I would listen to it again.

Ramones by Ramones
Dec 03 2025

Songs: "Beat on the Brat" 7/10, Thoughts: They sound British but it seems they are all from New York. Cool guitars. Upbeat music. God they sound SO British lol. Easy to see why they were so influential for their time, but a little dated. I don't think it's an Evergreen album to me. The songs kind of blend together because the guitar is the same in all the songs. They songs are all 2 minutes or under, I like that a lot. This is the "hey ho, let's go" band. Rating: 5/10. Not really my cup of tea TBH. But I can see why the band is so iconic.

Dec 04 2025

Songs: "Hello" 7/10, "Roll With It" 7.5/10, "Wonderwall" 10/10 legit, "Don't Look Back in Anger" 8/10, "Hey Now!" 7.5/10, "Some Might Say" 8/10, "Cast No Shadow" 7/10, "She's Electric" 7.5/10, "Morning Glory" 6.5/10, "Champagne Supernova" 8/10. Thoughts: Singer sounds far away from the mic in the album. Good British voice. Sick guitar and drums. Wonderwall is such a banger despite what anyone might say. Real catchy hooks. Upbeat Ratings: 8/10. Really like. Some of the songs blend together, but I would buy this record.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Dec 05 2025

Songs: "Sherane" 8/10, "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" 8/10, "Backseat Freestyle" 6.5/10, "The Art of Peer Pressure" 7.5/10, "Money Trees" 7.5/10, "Poetic Justice" 8/10, "Good Kid" 7/10, "M.a.a.d. City" 9/10, "Swimming Pools" 8/10, "Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst" 7.5/10, "Compton" 8/10 Thoughts: OG Kendrick has a really good flow and sound. Some pretty nostalgic songs and sounds. There is a reason he is considered one of the best. Every song has an outro, which I'm not necessarily a fan of. Funny to see Drake features in this album lol. The songs are a little long for my taste. Rating: 8/10

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Dec 09 2025

Very easy listening, great sound, classic Stevie. Fluid sounds and only 43 minutes, the perfect length for a record. I would DEFINETLY buy. Feeling a 8.5 to 9 even.

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Dec 11 2025

OG rock album. Not sure I love the Rolling Stones. Don't really know why either. Not a bad album, but I also don't need to listen to it again or buy it.

Dec 12 2025

Britpop baby. Beatles mixed with the twang of Oasis, meets the Ramones. Can't say that I hate it. Lost some steam at the end of the album. I really like the album cover art. That does a lot for me.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Dec 13 2025

Cancel me if you have to, but I LOVE Marvin Gaye. His voice is so buttery and his beats are so sexy. This and What's Going On are just perfect records. Classic R&B so has some funk to it. 10/10. Will be purchasing for my collection.

Rio by Duran Duran
Dec 16 2025

Unique-ish sound. All I can really hear is Hungry Like The Wolf over and over though.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple
Dec 17 2025

First song is weird, let's hope it gets better. Fiona Apple is regarded as one of the best singer song writers, so I owe it to her and to my love of singer-songwriter music to listen with open ears. Update: I really tried. I did. It's just too discordant for me. I like a better flow. I can see why people would like it, it's just not my cup o' tea.

In Utero by Nirvana
Dec 18 2025

On each of my listens I've preferred Nevermind, but I've enjoyed In Utero. Let's see how this listen compares shall we? Heart-shaped box whips such ass it's nuts. Frances Farmer is a very grunge sounding song that rips too. All Apologies is GOATED in addition! The difference between this and Nevermind is there are skipable songs, but there are no skipable songs in Nevermind. In Utero is still VERY good and quintessential, don't get me wrong. They just really killed it with Nevermind. 4/5

Highly Evolved by The Vines
Dec 19 2025

Good vocals. Like the guitar work. First song, the lead singer sounded a little like Kurt when he was screaming. Their Aussie heritage reminds me of Oasis, which are not Aussie but they aren't American so it's basically the same thing. I really enjoyed the album, can't lie. I'd listen again for sure. 4 stars.

Be by Common
Dec 30 2025

Big fan. Real classic 2000's rap. 4.5/5

Nixon by Lambchop
Dec 31 2025

Not mad at it. Good use of horns in their songs. Lead vocals remind me almost of the singer from Dire Straits, whomst I love. I also like the album art a lot. I'm a sucker for some good album art. "Up With People" was real good. Did lose some steam in the last three-ish songs for me. Overall I liked it more than I thought. 3.5/5
