1001 Albums Summary

This was great. I knew some Roxy music, but Ferry and Eno rule.

Jimmy page and JPJ are great musically, Robert Plant not my fav. A couple songs I like but I never seek out LZ to listen to.

This doesn’t hold up for me at all. Obviously talented with rhymes, but this was a rough listen today.

Wanted to like it as ambient work music but it wasn’t even very good at that. I thought I was on hold with a utility company.

It was fine. A few good songs, nothing I’d really save but nothing that had me slamming the skip button like these brothers would slam each other.

The bangers are banging.

3-4 good songs, a couple skips and the rest was fine. 3.55 = 4

Ella can absolutely sing and is amazing. But this album is sooooooo much. I get that at the time one would just put this on for an evening or something and that you can find a lot of the songs throughout American cinema and culture, but how do you even review an album like this? The individual songs and Ella’s voice are great. The album as constructed is just a mountain.

I wanted to like this more, but just didn’t connect with parts of it
