Boston by Boston
Dec 16 2025

Starts off as fun maximalist AOR. It’s hard not to like More Than a Feeling. After that it starts to all blend into a sound I quickly tired of. By Smokin’ I’d already felt like it had gone on for hours. It is also beyond cheesy. Just not a fan of this one.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Dec 17 2025

Easy 5 for me. I’ve loved this album for years and I’m always happy to listen to it. One of the great rock debuts and best guitarist/frontman duos in history.

Dec 20 2025

I finally get a non 70s rock album from cis men. 60s folk from a cis man instead! Another album I’ve heard dozens of times in my life. Some Dylan standards like Blowing in the Wind & Girl From the North Country and other great tracks but a few uninteresting tracks like Down the Highway drag it down for me. A decent album but I’ve always seen it as Bob’s most overrated.

The Bends by Radiohead
Dec 21 2025

Ughhhhh. Very overrated band and a very meh album.

Dec 22 2025

This is an okay album, but I’ve really grown sick of the biases. Hoping for an album of non guitar based music from anyone but a group of white cis-male performers tomorrow!

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Dec 23 2025

Anther all-timer for me. One of the greats of its genre. Still would love any level of diversity during this project!

Third by Soft Machine

Not for me

Dec 26 2025

Not a big Christmas music lady but I’ll take this over most other Christmas music. Having the murderer himself talk to you at the end is an awful way to end the album though. Also i finally got a record with Women and non-white performers! Only took like 2 weeks!

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Dec 27 2025

I was 20 when this one came out and liked it a lot then. Haven’t sat and listened to it since then though, and it’s not very good. It’s too serious for its own good, many of the tracks feel incomplete despite the production shoving in everything it can, and Win is kind of a grating vocalist. Meh.

Electric by The Cult
Dec 28 2025

The worst yet! Absolutely did not need to listen to this album before I die.

Slipknot by Slipknot
Dec 29 2025

Slipknot somehow skipped me by during my young teen Nu-metal phase. I’m guessing young me found the costumes lame, even if she liked Wait & Bleed. Anyway, this one was a positive surprise for me. Better than expected but still overlong and samey.

Synchronicity by The Police
Dec 30 2025

I used to always think I preferred early Police material but I ended up really enjoying this one. Songwriting is strong and varied with good production. Instrumentation and vocals are excellent. The occasional bad lyric did give me pause but overall good. Still waiting on more diversity though, as we get yet another act with only cis white men performers (this would make 13/15 albums with only this demographic represented)

Basket of Light by Pentangle
Jan 01 2026

Nice to hear some feminine vocals for once! A delightful slice of English folk, I was a big fan of this one.

Penance Soiree by The Icarus Line
Jan 02 2026

What a yawn! Plodding and limp.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Jan 03 2026

All-timer. Listened to it a few times because I love it so much.

Heavy Weather by Weather Report

No inherent issue with jazz fusion but this just made me feel like I was in my dentists waiting room.
