Very charming folk album. Love the addition of the sitar. Only recognized "My Sweet Lord".
Recognized Big Iron and El Paso. Talked to dad about the album - his dad used to listen to old country like this.
Recognize: Rolling in the Deep, Rumour Has It, Set Fire To the Rain, Someone Like You. Cannot deny the beautiful voice and depth of vocal abilities. Absolutely loved the Lovesong cover.
Great album with lots of crunchy, complex riffs. Have heard Regular John before but that's about, but I would definitely listen to it again.
Recognized Synchronicity II, Every Breath You Take and Wrapped Around You Finger. Very technical album. Less reggae style than others.
New music to me. Very technical and great use of instruments.
I think maybe I didn't find the time to give this album what it needed. The songs were dreamy but also could be just background music, not as notable as other albums on the list so far.
A hard album to get into and to finish this time around. I didn't recognize any songs. I enjoyed aspects of songs, but this just wasn't the album for me.
Clint Eastwood is definitely the highlight of the album. The rest was interesting enough but a little slow to get in to.
Kinda catchy but just not really into it. My understanding was that this album was released during the pandemic and I'm sure it really got people through it. The song with the dog barking drove my dog nuts.
I'm sure this album was pivotal at its time. Love the mix of samples and the messages in the songs. The collab with Anthrax was a surprise.
Not a super consequential album for me. It was interesting enough but trying to do too much. I'm glad I got to learn more about the band however. I'll be checking out more of their albums.
A fun listen. Recognized Coconut of course and also Without You.
Not my usual listen, but not so bad. There was more integration of sample layers than others at the time. Enjoyed the hard rock sounds on Body Count and the Halloween sample on The Tower.
I didn't know Rod Stewart was in a band before going solo, which is part of why this project has been so fun so far. This album didn't really click for me and I tended to like the songs where it wasn't Stewart singing anyways.
Great album. Well put together. I was a fan of Greenday before but this album really shot them into super stardom.
Pleasantly surprised with this album. I thought it was going to be terrible just from the name alone, but the first few songs were kinda catchy.
Wasn't too consequential for me. It could be playing in a dentist office and probably not bother too many people.
Just couldn't get into this one. The concept of a rap opera sounds interesting, but it just did not deliver.
I was excited to see this album - I've only really heard contemporary Ska music before. This album was fun.
A fun album and another band I hadn't heard before. I enjoyed the comfortably numb cover. Lots of energy.
Prog rock is definitely my cup of tea and this was an easy rating.
Enjoyed this album - Imagine was the only recognizable song for me, but I really enjoyed the rest of the songs. I liked the variety - some bluesy, some more traditional rock. Easily an album I could listen to again.
A surprise album for me and not my usual genre of music. I liked the folk vibes and unique instrumentals and the voice had a neat quality to it.
This was more enjoyable than I was expecting for a world album. Reading the context of the artist and her early death makes the album more significant. I enjoyed the funky beats and layers of sound.
While not my typical type of album, I found this album to be a lot of fun. Domino's voice is so smooth and the band is really playful. Had to piece together the full album on Spotify, but well worth it.
I'm really having a hard time deciding how much I like this. I think the style of the vocals turned me off a bit, but the gospel surprised me with how much I liked it. I'm intrigued to hear more from this artist.
A Canadian entry! ๐จ๐ฆ The pace of this album was really slow and not really my style, but could be an album to put on at a coffee shop and would be an easy listen.
Great album and obviously they are very talented performers. A 23 min song of them jamming is wild, but also probably not something I'll end us listening to again.
Some very creative sounds and a great start to the album but not enough to keep me interested throughout
This album was a great discovery! I didn't know anything about the artist until after listening to the album. This album is a neat fusion of world music.
An interesting album and not something I would have chosen to listen to, but am glad I did. Love the energy and expression.
Fun album to listen to, but not my jam. I liked the production quality of this album.
Oooh, so excited to dive into this album. It came out when I was 16 and was one of the few albums I owned, and the first of Radiohead. "There There" is one of my all time favourite songs. This'll be my first 5 star album!
Had a hard time getting through this album.
Unique sound and a band I'm glad to have heard and will probably check out more of. I can see why folks have compared them to Massive Attack.
So much funk! What a fun album. Another new band for me, and what a treat to listen to. They sound like they're having a lot of fun playing, too. Would rate 3.5 if I could.
A fun album and lots of great songs for the first half of the album. Lots of energy but could have been half the length of album.
Sounds like the soundtrack for Epstein Island. While there's some interesting music happening, I cant get past the lyrics. "Everybody knows that 'no' means 'yes'." Just gross.
Great album with some of my fav hits by RHCP, but it does kinda drop off in the second half (with the exception of Road Trippin', which might be my fav song of theirs).
Classic sound and great vocal range. Missing a little pizzazz, but an interesting listen all said and done.
