3/5
some absolute BOPS on this album, but also alot of yawn worthy instrumentals. very inconsistent but damn those bops go very hard. very funky and groovy. enjoyed this for the most part, really love shuggie's vocals. main guitar riffs are good too. Aht Uh Mi Hed and Strawberry Letter 23 were my favorites. 7/10 (3/5 on here)

Creedence Clearwater Revival
3/5
classic 70's rock vibe. doesnt stand out too much to me, its not my vibe but i appreciate it. i do like the guitar riffs. those are so fun. who'll stop the rain was my favorite song.
David Bowie
3/5
interesting bowie project. didnt love it but i enjoyed the music. really short!
Jimi Hendrix
4/5
really great instrumentals and production! I am impressed with how much im vibing with this. the guitar stuff is next level. really enjoyed this!
Kraftwerk
4/5
Best album I've listened to so far from this experiment. Very impressed with the engineering and production of the album from 1978. Incredible sound. I felt like I was a machine floating in space the entire time. Good stuff. Big big fan of synths.
Jurassic 5
2/5
Pretty cool album. Some good hip-hop beats. Nothing special to me personally. Some of the songs were a bit too repetitive for my taste. I think this is an album that would grow on me over time, but for now? I don't see myself revisiting this anytime soon.
Stevie Wonder
3/5
my first stevie wonder album! really amazing vocals and crisp groovy production. however not a lot of songs stood out to me, only enjoyed 3-4 songs out of the 10 on the album. can’t deny they were all great quality though. this might need another listen. but overall i’m excited to check out more of stevie’s music soon!
Janelle Monáe
4/5
This was a breath of fresh air. Really interesting album, beautiful production, and Janelle's vocals are wonderful. I've only listened to her most recent album from 2023, so I'm partially familiar with her work. I've been wanting to check out more of her albums, so I'm glad I listened to this album. Awesome album cover too! Really enjoyed this!
Amy Winehouse
4/5
what a smooth ass album. great melodies and chord progressions. amy's voice is electric. I've never listened to a full album from Amy before but I know her hits. the vibe of this album is great. really great percussion in her songs as well. i like this!
David Bowie
2/5
Blackstar: interesting production. not a huge fan of the harmonies. really like the random sax here and there. I do like how the second half of the song does a 180. second half is better than the first half. 9 minute song, goes thru everything. pretty interesting but i wouldn't listen to it again.
"Tis A Pity She Was A Whore: it was fine. forgettable but had some good production. on the higher energy side.
Lazarus: really good buildup. feels very tragic and grand. i felt the passion and anger. good song. another great use of sax.
Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime): hated the rhythm and beat of this song. it just stressed me out. it also didn't make sense to me melodically. i think this is the worst song on the album. It felt like he was singing a different song than the instrumentals and backing track were playing. so strange.
Girl Loves Me: interesting production, not terrible but nothing I'd listen to again. Def one of the better songs on the album i fear.
Dollar Days: favorite song on the album, a ballad with some incredible saxophone solos.
I Can't Give Everything Away: great album closer. last two songs on this album are the best. really love the electric guitar riff in this. this sounds like vintage bowie. good stuff.
Overall meh album - dont think I'll ever come back to it. Really enjoyed the last 2 songs and thats about it. 5/10.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
3/5
i mean, yeah its a rock album. some fun songs but nothing too special. i had fun with it. will i revisit? probably not. i liked about 3-4 of the songs.
Marvin Gaye
4/5
This album is incredible. I feel so much soul and groove from marvin's voice and instrumentals. wow. Loved the first track, what a great start to the album! The use of strings, saxaphone, flutes throughout this album in contrast with these chord progressions scratch an itch in my brain. it just works.
Beatles
2/5
this album is fine. i feel like i would like it more if i listened to it 20 more times but i don’t think ill ever do that lol. some good songs here and there but i don’t really care for them. they have better songs in other albums. their early stuff is okay. 5/10
The Who
2/5
This was fine. Some fun songs here and there but I did not care too much for it. This and the beatles back to back just mesh together, although I think I liked this album more? Who knows (no pun intended).
Khaled
3/5
this was actually pretty fun! Really enjoyed some of the tracks with a horn section. really good instrumentals but the vocals got a little annoying after a while. Also really long album when theres like a solid 4-5 that sound exactly the same. Solid 6/10.
Franz Ferdinand
3/5
enjoyed the punk vibes from this album. solid album! don't have too much to say about it, i enjoyed it for the most part. 7/10
Paul Revere & The Raiders
2/5
i just, im over this stuff man. this, the beatles, the who... it all mushes together for me man. I cannot tell you a single song that stood out to me. I may need to listen again but i just dont want to. sorry not sorry lol
The KLF
2/5
really interesting production, very 90's sounding with some hints of 80's synth still holding on for dear life. this was cool, but its not on spotify so i wont ever listen to this again lol 5/10
Pere Ubu
1/5
no way this is a real album. this is a disaster lol. i cannot take this seriously, the guy's voice sounds like a broken sprinkler. i cannot help but laugh. what is happening??? dude this is just noise at a certain point. i do not enjoy. 2/10
King Crimson
4/5
oh i LOVE this! The rollercoaster of instrumentals in the first track is awesome. Every single song in the album evokes a different emotion. Epitaph is a personal favorite - it's like a beautiful-sounding tragedy unraveling in my ears. good shit. There was no bad song. 8/10 - will definitely listen to this again!
Stevie Wonder
3/5
Love the electronic piano on this record. Its funky and groovy! Superstition is iconic. Other favorites included You are the sunshine of my life, tuesday heartbreak and I Believe. Solid album, I think I enjoyed Innervisions more. 6/10 (for now)
Grateful Dead
1/5
oh man. i can imagine this was probably better live, like actually being there but i did not vibe with this by listening to it whilst listening to it at my desk at work. it just never ends lol. 3/10 - did not have any favorite songs.
The Flaming Lips
4/5
Love the weird vibes of this album. Some great instrumentals, production and vocals showcased here. Excited to listen to this one again to gain more appreciation forit it, but on initial listen - it gets high praise from me. Almost all the songs on this album that I liked! That's rare. Good stuff!
Stevie Wonder
3/5
i liked this more than talking book. some really groovy and soulful stuff in here. it just hits better. really enjoyed Smile Please, Boogie on Reggae Woman, It Ain't No USe and Please Don't Go. 7/10
The Specials
3/5
this was a lot of fun! felt a little too surface level, I probably wont go back to listen to this again. but I had fun with it for the time being. really enjoyed the instrumentals, some songs gave rocky horror picture show vibes.
Black Flag
2/5
i dont have any thoughts about this. its just not for me, i hate the vocals. they are messy and i know thats the punk vibe but my gosh its like there no effort. 4/10
Sex Pistols
3/5
oh this is so much better than the black flag album. this is fun. this is punk. the instrumentals are better and crispier. the vocals are grungy and actually on pitch and not flat. im a fan. the guitars and the drums are so fucking good. its just fun and wacky! 7/10
Louis Prima
2/5
i swear like 10 of these songs were the same songs in a different font and name. not alot of variety here. i enjoy it to a certain degree but after a while i get a little tired of it.
Otis Redding
2/5
this album essentially has otis redding covering existing songs with his own flair. it works for some, and others miss. its fine - i wouldnt listen again. the production and arrengments are a fun time. 5/10
Beastie Boys
2/5
its, alot of yelling. i only knew about brass money and no sleep til brooklyn going into this album. ive always been a huge fan of brass monkey but this is like 15 brass monkies in a row and it gets very annoying after a while. was pretty irritated while listening to it. half the songs i couldnt tell the different between. they might as well been all one song lol. that being said! Fight For Your Right - that one is so fun man. the guitar is super cool. probably the best song on the album aside from Brass Monkey. Im sick of their voices though :( 4/10
Willie Nelson
2/5
almost fell asleep. calm and chill and that’s abt it. liked the guitar. 4/10 lol
LTJ Bukem
1/5
honestly, this is a vibe. its very repetative though. i do enjoy the electronic beats and synths but i would not put this on again. theres better things about there. 3/10
New Order
3/5
super cool production. awesome synths and melodies. the guys voice? ehhhh. sounded like he recorded the songs acapella at the end of the day because he wanted to go home. kinda took me out of a few songs. after a while i got used to it but something about this album just made him sing not the best. 6/10
The Rolling Stones
3/5
i actually very much enjoyed this album. some great tunes and awesome guitar riffs, wild horses is the standout - however there's a cover of that song i like more than the OG version. still a great song. just an overall good time and a solid album. 7/10
Wilco
2/5
its alright. nothing special for my ears. more background music than anything else. singer's voice is meh, instrumentals are basic. its fine. 5/10
Solange
3/5
some really good R&B music in here. really love the melodies and smooth vibes. too many interludes though, it took me out of the flow of the album. love the harmonies and vocals. she can really sing! 7/10
Hanoi Rocks
3/5
glam rock! a band from finland?? very cool. this was alot of fun - really enjoyed the saxaphone in some of the tracks. also really like the album cover. that dude's hair is awesome. solid guitar riffs. never heard of this group or band until today - i can hear the cool 80's rock beats in their sound. this was good! 7/10
Van Halen
4/5
this is just straigh up awesome shit right here. the songs rock, the guitar riffs are insane and its just pure rock. runnin' with the devil is probably my favorite song off this album, incredible album starter!
Gorillaz
2/5
this album is just boring. it brings some interesting production into the mix (which I enjoyed at times!) but ultimately falls flat (especially their singing voices, dear lord). yeah, I expected more, I like their later albums more. its just not hitting at my desk on this monday morning... 3/10
Blur
4/5
Really impressed with this album! loved the vibes, it's chaotic and messy in the best way. Production is great and the vocals are fun. I had a good time with this, enjoyed most of the songs and would definitely listen to this album again! 7/10
Tim Buckley
2/5
this is quite interesting. its different from alot of other music ive listened to from the 60's. tim's vocals are strange but they work with his music. i'm personally not the biggest fan of these songs but i can appreciate a good album. Favorite song was Phantasmagoria in Two. 4/10
The Cure
3/5
very very moody. really enjoy the synths and guitar in the songs. vocals are meh but its the vibe. Plainsong was probably my favorite song. Lovesong is a classic, i knew that song before going into the album. the album cover is weird as hell, i'll give it points for uniqueness. emo new wave! 6/10.
The Cure
2/5
did not care for the first song at all. boring and purposefully ominous. same with the song "three". some instrumentals in here dont work. i did enjoy a few songs (mainly "A Forest" because it appears in westworlf) but overall weaker than disintegration. 4/10.
Radiohead
4/5
this was great. i love radiohead, this seems so different from Kid A post 2000's. Favorite songs included 2+2=5, Sail To The Moon, Where I End and You Begin, There, There and A Wolf At the Door. Love the album cover art. 7/10 (rounding up!)
Harry Nilsson
2/5
really interesting album. sometimes melodramatic and sometimes goofy and strange. my favorite songs were Gotta Get Up, Without You and I'll Never Leave You. The latter two songs are such beautiful ballads i will definitley revisit those songs again. however the album as a whole was okay. really like his vocals and the piano. 5/10
Bruce Springsteen
1/5
yeah this was VERY boring. i liked one song and the rest was just uninteresting and not a genre i was vibing with. he probably has some interesting lyrics but thats not what i hear when i listen to music for the first time. music is bland. his vocals are okay. 2/10 lol
Shuggie Otis
3/5
some absolute BOPS on this album, but also alot of yawn worthy instrumentals. very inconsistent but damn those bops go very hard. very funky and groovy. enjoyed this for the most part, really love shuggie's vocals. main guitar riffs are good too. Aht Uh Mi Hed and Strawberry Letter 23 were my favorites. 7/10 (3/5 on here)
Michael Jackson
5/5
i mean yeah. its one of the best albums of all time. every single track is a bop and its got so many classics. thriller, beat it, billie jean is a goated 3 track run. i mean yeah this is a 10/10
Arcade Fire
4/5
really beautiful album. alot of movie montage moments in the music. i like their sound and vibe. 7/10!
TV On The Radio
1/5
mehhhh. only liked about 2 or 3 songs. everything else was a bit annoying. did not like the vocals. the instruemtnals and production were solid. but i dont think i'd go back and listen to this again. halfway home was my fave of the album. 3/10
Small Faces
2/5
the album cover goes SO hard. giving it votes just for that. music is fine. its just background stuff for me, i hate how the older 60's music is remastered to include some instrumentals and vocals on one side and the rest on the other side. it drives me crazy. idk man they just sound like a beatles knockoff lol. did not care for the speaking parts of this album. their accents are great tho. song of a baker and lazy sunday were my favorite songs. 4/10
Jacques Brel
1/5
nope. not the vibe today at all. do not care for this. hate this guy's voice. music is fine, would have been so much better if this was an instrumental album. 2/10
De La Soul
2/5
some fun stuff in here, but mostly forgettable. wont go back to listen to this. their samples are cool. 3 songs i really liked and stood out but everything else meshed together. 5/10
The Who
3/5
this was actually pretty great. probably the best who album i've listened to. back to back bangers. good production, fun vocals. I enjoyed this more than i thought i would! 7/10
Kid Rock
1/5
i just dont care. listened to half of this on youtube cus i dont want to give this dude streams on spotify lol. a messy album. i was vibing with the first song, beats are fun. but he's just a gross man. no thanks, i'll pass. 1/10
