Obviously the song "What's Going On" is a 10/10, but on average the songs are meh.
I could only find a remastered version so here are my thoughts on the remastered version. Some very good songs and some songs that felt phoned in. It sounded like some were re-recorded which didn't really fit the tone of the other songs.
The intro is the anthem to all influencer slop. I doubt the artists knew what their effect on the world would be. All in all, ok.
Lovely Album. Outside of the classics, the song that blew me away was was "Ain't No Way". That ghostly high note is INSANE.
The basis of all pop-punk albums. Same key, same bpm, same same same.
Brings back so many memories. Made me listing to Collision Course where they mash up their songs with Jay-Z. Elite.
Literally couldn't finish it. Painfully americana in it's infancy
Very fun listen. I get the hype.
high energy and fast. classic speed metal
fine low bop ratio. Not much variety
I saw the vision but JFC the vocals were bad
Old boy thought he was Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen combined. Turns out he’s just a Chris Gaines. Awful awful awful
Just fantastic. High bop ratio but a few smudges. Neil Young rocks
Honestly, better than I thought it would be. Steady bops with variety. Their reputation in my mind was meme-ish but now I get it.
Little variation but very good!
Classic. Not my favorite though. The introduction of the flute was fun
Good OG hip hop. Very fun listen
Classssiiiccccc John Prine stays winning. Never heard the flag decal song and it’s as relevant as ever
2 bops. The rest was unbearable
You see glimpses of what they become, but still raw
This is what happens when a lab clones Paul Simon and forces him to live in LA to develop a sad boy
Very fun listen. I had no Idea it's a show tune/musical. Very fun.
If it weren’t for that shrek song it would be a 1
High Bop Ratio (Bops per minute aka Bpm) and tons of variety. I was tapping my toes the entire time. Clearly the pop industry was copying his music for the next 20 years. Legend.
Pretty good. If only there were more non-jam band songs. Cisco Kid is a bop
Great blend of grunge and pop. Dave Grohl stays winning
I'm not normally a jazz guy but I get it
Great start for Metallica. Master of Puppets is goated, but the other songs can feel unnatural
I knew the hits but never listened to the full album. It surprised me and I would actually listen to it all again.
Critically I think it’s pretty vanilla but it’s got a decent BPR for a debut album.
Anecdotally I can trace my taste in music to this exact record. I have childhood memories tied to this album. Like, finding out that my Dad owned this on CD as a child and how my older brother’s friends thought that was so cool. I have scanned this album art for hours. Good memories
Decent BPM, but pretty flat. Walking on the Moon and Message in a Bottle. Also I'm not a huge fan of skit tracks.
I get the vision and the structure of the album, but I will never listen to it again.
Good ol' fashioned high tempo music. I see why he was a phenom, but nothing really stood out.
HIGH BPM Van Morrison stays undefeated. Some slouches near the end but overall it's mainly legendary songs.
Evergreen album. They were on the good stuff and really hitting the mark for 1970.
Good stuff but low BPM. Funny enough my favorite song didn't have Bob Marley singing.
Incredible Range. Cycles of materialism, sexuality, heart break, personal insecurities wrapped into one.
Some songs are nasty (complimentary)
Lost One might be one of the greatest break up songs ever made
Avant Garde album. Pretty ahead of it's time though honestly. Like a 50/50 mix of Sophie and Grimes
Give Up is great
Pretty darn good for 1978. Good BPM but meh on variety.
Bops:
1-Pump It Up
2-(I don't want to go to) Chelsea
3-Radio Radio
meh, like all Beatles clones it was low variety. Not terrible, but neither good.
Dreary, dark, and full of potential. Pretty experimental but you can absolutely hear their future.
Honestly, I didn't see listen to the whole thing. LONG LIVE KOBE
high energy and packed to the brim with classics, great baseline for The Offspring.
Once you've heard one Cream song you've heard them all
CeeLo is such a good producer. The Album is all over the place tho
Lots of fun. High energy band and good live recording
Honestly I get it. High BPM, nice and short. They were so good at Pop music.
At first I was intimidated that it'll just be boring but the live recording is amazing. The guy is in flow state.
Bops a plenty but there it can feel flat at times where the songs sound similar
Fun old album. Lot's of bops and very silly.
Little variety. First song is great but the remainder of the album is the same song with different lyrics. Just fatiguing
Fun album. Get's a little delirious about being on the road but I think that's the point.
reminds me of middle school but nothing mind blowing
Fast pace but nothing to write home about
sensual baby voice kills me. I understand it's a coming-of-age album but for having no bangers, no levity, and no growth its a 2 star for me dawg.
I can appreciate a flow but at the end of the day I couldn't stand the citing of random schematics. like a man locked in a cage
I should've known that The Police had a cocaine phase. Disjointed even with two of their best songs
my kind of fun music from the old times
Not bad at all. Definitely Glenn Cambell vibes but nothing to write home about.
I had my hater hat on at the start. I figured they were a clone of Danzig/Alice Cooper but they had some good southern rock tunes. Shout out Aphrodisiac Jacket.
I hate Elliott Smith forever
Pretty damn good. It had ebbs and flows but overall pretty damn good.
Not a huge fan. Some recognizable tunes but she stales out so frequently
Really Great. Quick and emotional.
Hilariously the best song was "Go Cry on Somebody Else's Shoulder" which clearly is them trying to make fun of pop music
Great start to a career for an amazing singer. Her voice is impeccable and sounds like the warmest saxophone. Would listen again and again
Only 35 minutes! Love a short album. Good blend of talking heads and moody electronic music.
Moving in Stereo is a BOP
Color me surprised. It was a lot of fun and silly. Good stuff. Not many bops but entertaining nonetheless
I'm sure I'm not in the majority here but I hated it. I would've told you it's bad AI music if I hadn't known it was from '89. The vibe is trying to be edgy with no substance, or vulnerable with no texture.
Never heard of them before
1. Oh lord, interesting start with something for the weekend
2. Good vanilla bop
3. Oh no, it's another pervy vampire song
3. 15 seconds in: Pedo vampire????
4. Back to vanilla bop
5. Stoopid pervy vampire again in black face
6. I'm kind of over this...
It's a concept album for sure but good God there are some that just shouldn't be released.
I like Bob Dylan more than I thought
"Classic" 90's album with one banger then songs you'll never want to listen to again.
Always pleasantly surprised
Never heard of Nick Drake but it's very good for an old folk album
Pleasantly surprised. I thought I was walking into another 1960/70's album but it was range and depth. Good BPM
