1001 Albums Summary

An album that is structured as a 45 minute experience, not a collection of songs. More than the sum of it's parts, which are all good.

I get it

I was vibing with this hard, until "Moonchild" showed up and sucked all the wind out of the sails. Luckily "The Court of the Crimson King" kind of a banger to end us off so they brought me back

Didn't finish. The spoken word hip hop is not for me. Quite possibly the most British thing ive ever encountered.

Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, and YYZ are obviously excellent, Limelight and Camera's Eye are solid too, but im just not a fan of Witch Hunt or Vital Signs. As much as I want to give this a 5, I can't justify it for an album that, in my opinion, loses its steam in the back half.

Music to chew bubblegum to. Actually criminal that right when you think you're close, they hit you with a 12 minute song that is just random sounds.

In highschool jazz band we played Haitian Fight Song, my first introduction to Charles Mingus. I think he is unironically one of the best to ever do it.

Forgettable

They knew which ones were heaters for sure. It's like filler, crescendo, Another brick in the wall pt 2, filler filler filler, crescendo, comfortably numb, weirdo music til the end.

Sounds like music that would play in the background of a factory building game

I was grumpy when I listened to this, but this was like the most nothing album ive ever listen too. Just noise.

I'm not sure what other people are hearing here that im not. The whole album is SO HORNY, and I cannot stand the like sultry talking that the lead singer does. The actual music is fine, nothing to write home about, so im not gonna give it a one, but I did not enjoy listening to this.
