Heheheheheh ahhahahahahha booty!!!! BOoOoOtyyyy!!!
Not his best but still really good. Strong tracklist at the beginning.
Peter Griffin be like: Hey Lois *cool Chinese flute intro*
Really good shit. Kinda corny instrumentation. The first song is the best.
Damn good ass shit brotha
Kinda buns twin but it was fun.
eh its okay
eh
eh pretty cool i guess
Exactly what a cover album should be
Really not for me. Only liked two of the songs. He has a good voice though.
Ooh very nice but not as good as like OK Computer
FUNKY AS FUCK
GOOD ASS JAZZ
Just all around great music
Great live album, really fun atmosphere. Shame to hear he died a bit after this.
good liked it
Tough as fuck!!!
Eh kinda mid Fragile is the better album.
It's not particularly special in any way but I guess it went on to inspire a lot of other mfs so it's probably cool.
catchy but basic
Tough as fuck!!!
Surprisingly fun and amazing album. Really good to listen to.
Pretty good but nothing like their other albums.
Great jazz album.
Loved it’s a national treasure. Not as good as What’s Goin On though.
I like it very good music please give me more and less stranger things buns trash! She is good when she isn't netflix's favorite artist.
Weird music but good for that
One of the greatest Jazz albums of all time hell yeah
Classic album through and through
Almost perfect album bro its great but also the more punky songs are annoying ah hell
Weird as hell but the first half is great.
Genuinely one of the best folk albums of all time and it’s surprising because it’s so simple!
All time classic. Some songs feel a bit too long but that doesn’t take anything away from the overall album. It’s great.
For a debut this album feels really weird because it’s already so formed and experimental. It’s got both simple instrumentation but also a wide range of different genres and feelings all covered by lyrics that talk about drug abuse, loneliness, and isolation. At least I think that’s what it’s about idk I listened to it pretty much twice but I didn’t have the lyrics up to my eyes or anything so I might have missed or added something. It’s good shit though I appreciated this one a lot. It’s a little off for this list though. We’ve got alt rock albums like this but not a single Ween album? No Mollusk no Chocolate and Cheese? That’s their problem not mine. Would have a lot more 100s if they added those to be fair. Anyways, on the types of songs they have. There’s a song that really sounded like a James Bond intro parody (Your Luckiest Day in Hell), a sort of twisted pop ballad (Beautiful Freak), some hip hop type vocals mixed with pianos (Susan’s House) and even some gospel influence (Flower). They crammed a good bit into this one so you won’t feel bored or anything. Although on the other hand like I said the instrumentation is pretty simple so don’t expect like a crazy masterpiece or anything. It’s just a pretty artistic good little album.

Paul Simon is just one of the greatest folk songwriters you can't deny that you really can't. He can write longform songs with pages of lyrics that feel like a whole journey but it's only been 4 minutes or so. And on the other side he makes songs with music that's so good, catchy, and fulfilling to listen to that you won't get bored while listening to them. Of course he does that a lot more on Graceland, his absolute masterpiece from his entire career, INCLUDING Simon and Garfunkel, but this album is still a great example of that, albeit much quieter and more subdued. Liked every song on this album and you are just a folk hater or something if you didn't. Look at yourself in the mirror, really look get a good look at yourself. Now look behind you, do you see Paul Simon there? No? Bend down a bit he is kinda short. Do you see him now? Look at how sad you made him. He made this album just for you and you did this to him come on man. NOT COOL.

“Yeah dude check out this rock album me and the boys threw together in my basement. Formal music training? No clue what that is twin. Just hold my beer.”
What an interesting album to just come out of thin air and be almost complete peak through and through. It was made by Tom Scholz who is the guy I mentioned in that dumb fake quote up there. After being a rock fan during college he decided to just write some songs then built his own studio to record them. This guy worked for Polaroid like imagine the guy who makes your cameras in your factory going from doing that to having one of the fastest selling debut rock albums of all time. Imagine being his manager that would be crazy you would probably go from thinking the guy is under you to seeing him as a god. Anyways it’s really good rock music. Usually I don’t dig these classic rock albums, Led Zeppelin IV being a good example. I only liked a couple songs off of that album despite everyone else thinking it’s like the greatest thing ever made. This album fucks though it cuts its great. I guess this is kind of an inspiration to all the lofi artists out there though. This album was pretty much all done at home, similar to Tod Rundgren’s early 70s albums. Big inspirational shit here just good classic rock the solos are great the lyrics are good at least compared to usual rock lyrics and yeah just listen to it bro.

Damn this album FUCKS like it's raw as hell this is as like falling over each other and smashing your instruments as punk can probably get while still being pretty listenable. Some songs are on the more catchy side which I appreciate to break the album up a bit. Like I Just Can't Be Happy Today has a good new wave synth backing that is pretty good compared to the intensity of the songs that came before it. When I saw this I was like FUCK I don't wanna listen to an album by a band I've never heard of today I want to hear some good shit. I don't know why I was being so stingy though this is peak as hell I gotta be more open to new experiences. Anyways yeah it's good it's punk but not like that catchy funky Clash punk or the Sex Pistols punk that sounds like shit. More like a hardcore rock punk which is what we like to see.

Who said that white boys couldn’t be funky? This is new wave with all the fixings. You got really funky and upbeat drumming, corny as hell guitar parts, and lyrics that don’t mean anything to anybody. It even has a ton of sax all over the place that lowkey makes it a joy to listen to. It’s a really fun album but it’s also like corporate music this is the young man’s Sports. I just thought about Patrick Bateman listening to this like damn that’s good music. I liked it a lot though enough to give it at the least a 70 but it kinda falls off a bit past the first couple of tracks. Despite apparently being pretty based not a lot of people have rated this one. I actually found it because of Favorite Shirts a couple years ago and dug that song a lot. Now not so much. Music types change I guess. Anyways it’s fun give it a listen there’s not a single song on here that you wouldn’t have a good time “bumpin” in your dad’s stereo system.
75/100 Sometimes debut albums will just be like this man it’ll just be an album that really doesn’t do anything for you like none of this appeals much to me at all or sounds all that cool (although I did dig Zürich & Here a lot). It’s rock with detuned and distorted guitars that try to fill in for the band not having a bassist for a while and I don’t really know what else to say. It’s got cool song titles like they look like they belong to a much greater set of tunes but instead they’re on this pavement album right here. I tried putting this on in many different situations at work, like I tried reading with it, working outside with it, probably even fell asleep with it on at one point because it was a bit boring at parts and I just wasn’t crazy about it. But hey guys don’t worry, it’s an “influential” album which doesn’t mean that it has to be really likable or anything. It just lends a helping hand to the bands that would come up and make better albums inspired by it. I’m glad for these guys though they sound like they had a blast making it and that’s all that matters right?
