1001 Albums Summary

This album was okay. Not my vibe, so it felt like a bit of a slog to get through after a couple tracks, but I can absolutely respect and see how they shaped so many bands and songs that came after them.

I liked this one!

I was not fucking with this one as much as I expected to, tbh, but I bet this shit went crazy when it came out and was the first of its kind.

I did not particularly enjoy this album. Not to be One Of Those People, but the only songs I really liked much were the songs where Stevie’s voice stood out or was pretty solo. Sorry :(

I love this album! There’s plenty of songs I adjust listen to regularly on this album, and a few more that will be added to the rotation. Was nice to finally listen to the whole album!

When I was younger, my dad would talk about how bands I adore like Duran Duran and The Cure were so overplayed during his childhood and young adult years that he’s just burnt out on it. I felt that way listening to this album. She’s good af tho. Crazy that she was 21 when she made this.

I liked this album a lot! Will probably be listening to it more in the future.

Listening to this made me realize how many songs off this album I listen to regularly and how much I actually love The Killers. Fuck yeah.

Good God I love this band. I love this album. I love every song on this album so much. This album has been with me since I was a teenager and it’s beautiful and haunting and relevant and revelatory every time I listen to it. Love this shit. So happy it’s here and that I got to listen to it again.

Listening to this feels like the sonic equivalent to the episode of Documentary Now! where Hader freeassociates the entire episode

If this album had a scratch and sniff sticker on the front, it would smell like grilled hot dogs and fresh cut grass. Also, we can’t do half stars here, but I’d give this album an extra half star solely for that sick ass sax outro on Dancing in the Dark. Holy hell did that guy know what he was doing.

I was not fucking with this as much as I wanted to be unfortunately. But it had some good bits and it was heartbreaking to listen to and I’m glad I listened.

Loved this album so much. Felt very SH2/SH3, and made me think a lot about Akira Yamaoka. Good stuff.
