this album is like 14 songs too long. like if you've recorded 28 individual songs either make a separate album or put them on the Deluxe Edition. something. jesus, man decent, drags in some parts but overall is just good old fashioned hard rock 7/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: BULLET WITH BUTTERFLY WINGS, GALAPAGOS, 1979, BODIES LEAST FAVOURITE SONGS: LOVE (holy fuck dude turn down the fucking overdrive it's like a version of the song someone on youtube "bass boosted" for a dumb joke)

you can definitely tell this is a debut album from a 70's rock band, but it's got enough going for it that i can look past its faults. kinda sounds like what they'd listen to on Lego Island 8/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: PRECIOUS, TATTOOED LOVE BOYS, KID, PRIVATE LIFE, BRASS IN POCKET LEAST FAVOURITE SONGS: THE PHONE CALL

i was semi familiar with Mrs. Franklin before, but i don't think i've ever sat down and listened to an album of hers properly. now that i have it's not a surprise to me that she's called the "Queen of Soul." crazy good voice! hitting myself for not doing this sooner to be honest. 8.5/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: RESPECT, DON'T LET ME LOSE THIS DREAM, DR. won't lie, saw that it was "country rock" and got scared. i should've looked at the date and realized it was pre-9/11 so the chances of it not sounding like shit were drastically higher. with that said, i like this! it sounds like something i'd listen to in a gas station. a welcome vibe. 7/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: GUITAR TOWN, THINK IT OVER, DOWN THE ROAD

awwwwww yeah baby. quintessential electronic right fucking here. this album either makes you want to get up and just start moshing right then and there. either that or booting up an FPS from the late 90's or early aughts. it's assuredly what they were listening to while making it, too. genuinely think if you don't like this album you're either lying for attention or have dogshit music taste. 10/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: YOU COULD LITERALLY SPIN A WHEEL WITH THE NAMES OF THE TRACKS ON THEM AND I'D SAY I'D LIKE IT EVERY SINGLE TIME

smooth as hell. kept me swaying my head side to side throughout the entire duration. great flow, great horns, great drumming. overall a good time to be had. 9/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: LET'S START, YE YE DE SMELL

If you are not a band known for having 10+ minute long songs (Pink Floyd, Genesis, Godspeed You!,) you have to *earn* the right to have one on your album. This album does not do that. The first half of the album is mediocre at best, of which the only particular thing that stood out to me was the flute on One Of The Songs That I Can't Be Bothered To Know The Actual Name Of. I respect the audacity to make the entire 18 minute second half *one* song, but not enough to listen to it as intended (i.e listened to on 2x speed.) And even then, it was more of a chore to listen through than anything. Not worth my time. 1/10

perfectly serviceable swing jazz. nothing to write home about, but nothing to sour the mood either. would probably sound nice while eating at a fancy italian place. 6/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: NOTHING'S TOO GOOD (FOR MY BABY,) THE LIP, BUONA SERA, YOU RASCAL YOU LEAST FAVOURITE SONGS: OH MARIE

pushing it a little bit with the lengths of a lot of the songs, but makes up for it by being overall comprised of good listens. 6/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: LOVE SICK, TRYIN' TO GET TO HEAVEN, NOT DARK YET, COLD IRONS BOUND

more George Clinton funk (which by itself is pretty good,) but with a flavouring of sci-fi on top. not complaining! 7/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION (STAR CHILD,) UNFUNKY UFO, HANDCUFFS LEAST FAVOURITE SONGS: P-FUNK (WANTS TO GET FUNKED UP)

not a single other album of its genre perfectly represents electronica better than this. master class in synth. german engineering in audio format. brilliant. 10/10 FAVOURITE SONGS: AUTOBAHN, MORGENSPAZIERGANG
