Popular Reviews

I could not get through the album. Genre is just not for me … his voice is great, the piano is fantastic, but I could not stand the background singers and slow tempo of each song. 2

Van Halen by Van Halen

Putting aside how often I heard these songs growing up on the radio … just a plain awesomely fun album. Influenced so many to come / so many great songs throughout. 5

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
May 08 2026

Fantastic blues album. Awesome voice and guitar. Not my favorite genre but probably my favorite expression of it. Would listen again to get in a southern / blues mood. 4

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
May 09 2026

- Incredible voice & like the horns, but overall just not my kind of music. Can appreciate the quality but not for me. - Really enjoyed Tears Dry On Their Own 3

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
May 10 2026

Insanely good guitar playing. Never have been a huge fan of Ozzy’s voice. Guitar on NIB and bass on Evil Woman went super hard. Overall a pretty great album, last three songs had a hell of a run to finish the album. 4.5

Transformer by Lou Reed
May 11 2026

Fantastic vocals and guitars/horns. One of my favorite singers … chill, creepy, catchy. Loved the whole album beyond “take a walk on the wild side” 4.5+

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
May 12 2026

Incredible album overall - so many great songs. Carry On possibly their best song and no bad songs on the album. Was interesting to listen to which songs they pieced together and which they all performed together. Fantastic album 5

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
May 13 2026

Pretty decent sounds - I did like the haunting nature of some of the music - but not really my favorite genre. Really liked "A Forest" which also turned out to be their top single on the album. Overall pretty solid . 3

No Other by Gene Clark
May 14 2026

Vibes were … interesting? A somewhat light trippiness. Wasn’t really my jam / didn’t do too much for me. Wasn’t super jazzed about the country-ish songs. 2.5

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
May 15 2026

Objectively great, but not very into soul/funk. Fantastic voice / horns. 3

May 16 2026

I could not get through the album. Genre is just not for me … his voice is great, the piano is fantastic, but I could not stand the background singers and slow tempo of each song. 2

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
May 17 2026

Really enjoyable listen - solid album overall. Would agree with the review calling it grandiose. No one song stuck out in particular but liked the sound / vibes. 4

May 18 2026

I get why it’s so beloved … but it didn’t do it for me. They did some really cool things here with the audio (particularly on the first song), and had some great hits, but a lot of the songs felt borderline filler and totally inconsistent. 3+

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
May 19 2026

A fantastic album overall with 5 A/A+ songs. Probably an effect of growing up in this time period, everything comes together for me and any comments critiquing the voice/music ... or the distinct 90s of it all ... are more nitpicking than anything. Bumping up due to the sheer amount of fantastic songs and to drown out the idiots complaining about the feminism. 4.5+

Maxinquaye by Tricky
May 20 2026

Had never heard of Tricky before - enjoyed the listen, pretty dark/trippy/chill throughout. Pretty solid overall but no real interest in exploring other albums. 3

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
May 21 2026

Honestly kind of loved it … great mix of folk rock / electronic. Some upbeat music with chill vocals. Had no idea these guys existed or that I had another liked song from them. Really solid listen. 4

1989 by Taylor Swift
May 22 2026

Probably the highest variance of any album I’ve ever listened to. An incredible amount of amazing singles … and basically everything else is terrible. Enjoyed the one non-single of I Know Places which was a preview of Reputation. Find it really hard to grade … overall a 3 but do I give more credit to the incredible highs and absolute bangers. Lean more towards a 3 given just how bad most of the songs are (welcome to New York may be her worst song?). But an incredible pivot / achievement that led to much higher highs down the road. 3+

Parklife by Blur
May 23 2026

British REM / reminiscent of early gorillaz. Pretty decent

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
May 24 2026

Not my jam - similar to ELO or some Pink Floyd but not that great. 2

Frank by Amy Winehouse
May 27 2026

Really liked the music … kinda can’t stand her voice. Just really grating to me / not really into her overall style 2.5

May 29 2026

Undeniably solid - went in far more pessimistic than I got to listening to the full album. Liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Really enjoyed the listen overall. 4

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
May 30 2026

A fun listen … I enjoyed the sampling throughout. 3

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
May 31 2026

Surprisingly good - really enjoyed it. A lot more raw than their popular songs. Great album 4+

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Jun 01 2026

Really enjoy Neil Young overall - Southern Man a fantastic song. I do miss the rest of the crew on the album, but overall still a really enjoyable listen. 4

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Jun 02 2026

Very solid overall in addition to the hits … clear how he influenced a ton of artists with his style. 4

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Jun 03 2026

Overall really good funk/soul, and enjoyed the covers. Not super into funk/soul generally, but enjoyed this a lot. 3+

Ten by Pearl Jam
Jun 04 2026

Absolutely fantastic - loved it. The layering of the guitars and technical sounds were outstanding. Had never listened to the full album before and really enjoyed it … not as “grunge” as expected, much more reminiscent of traditional classic rock 5

Bad by Michael Jackson
Jun 08 2026

Didn’t listen but know all the songs … was never a big fan of this album to begin with and also can’t separate the man from the music. 1

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Jun 09 2026

Very solid but clearly a debut - hints of what would make them so great 4+

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Jun 10 2026

Just not really a fan … understand why people appreciate it but didn’t do it for me 2

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jun 11 2026

Honestly still holds up and is entertaining … some excellent singles 4+

American Beauty by Grateful Dead
Jun 12 2026

Overall pretty solid but honestly a bunch of the songs seem to run together. 3

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Jun 13 2026

I really like it … it’s great overall but it’d be disingenuous of me to give it a 5. Overall body of work is a 10/10 and I love him … but this album is very good. 4

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Jun 15 2026

Overall solid but didn’t enjoy it as much as his previous album 3

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Jun 19 2026

Overall pretty solid but blends into itself on the back half. Still really enjoyable rock 3.5

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Jun 20 2026

Really solid overall - had never heard of them. Fantastic guitar playing 3

Protection by Massive Attack
Jun 24 2026

Really enjoyed this … excellent chill / reggae vibes throughout 4

Harvest by Neil Young
Jun 25 2026

Overall excellent throughout - a number of fantastic songs and some great ones I hadn’t heard before 5

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Jun 26 2026

High quality hard rock - liked it more than I thought I would 4

Van Halen by Van Halen
Jun 30 2026

Putting aside how often I heard these songs growing up on the radio … just a plain awesomely fun album. Influenced so many to come / so many great songs throughout. 5

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Jul 01 2026

They’re so good - excellent album top to bottom 4.5

Jul 02 2026

Super disjointed / not a cohesive sound throughout … a few highs but a lot of wtf songs. Didn’t really enjoy it 2

Leftism by Leftfield
Jul 03 2026

Overall really enjoyed it - solid beats throughout. 4

Roger the Engineer by The Yardbirds
Jul 09 2026

Overall solid … feel like if I grew up with them I would’ve loved them 3

LP1 by FKA twigs
Jul 10 2026

Really gave it a shot … but this is just godawful atrocious breathy panting / singing. She has a great voice, but wow this is not my kind of music 1.5

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jul 11 2026

Overall solid - really good instrumentation throughout 4

Jul 13 2026

Sounds highly corny but he’s got a great voice. Can’t listen to Freedom without thinking of Always Sunny and laughing which kind of ruins the song for me. 2

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Jul 14 2026

Fantastic funk … and fun to see it was basically the basis for Dr. Dre’s The Chronic 4

Country Life by Roxy Music
Jul 17 2026

Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would based on the cover - really solid production throughout 4

Hotel California by Eagles
Jul 18 2026

I get that they’re a great band and supremely talented musicians and get this is a classic … but man did it drag. Even life in the fast lane isn’t that great of a song to me. That said, Hotel California as a song is just fantastic even if it’s overplayed. I was going between a 2-3 but a 2 feels like it’d just be for the sake of being contrarian. It’s a fine album, didn’t think it was a classic by any means 3

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Jul 24 2026

Overall pretty good but the heartbreaker to ramble on trio is fantastic. Otherwise ok … never been a big fan / think they were massively overplayed when I was growing up

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Jul 25 2026

So good … great guitar throughout 4

Hot Shots II by The Beta Band
Jul 26 2026

Overall enjoyed the chill vibes but think it eventually gets a bit too one note 3

Jul 28 2026

Love Oasis, fight me. Only critique is some of the endings of their songs draaaaaag on a bit. But still love this album 5

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Jul 31 2026

Overall very solid musically - some great instrumentals and absolute bangers in here 4

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Aug 01 2026

Pretty solid, overall great musically but a lot of the album didn’t do a lot for me 3

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Aug 04 2026

Really interesting listen. Bit long but continues to build on itself so the back half felt a lot more rewarding. Overall very solid 4

The Sounds Of India by Ravi Shankar
Aug 06 2026

Really interesting Indian music intro - overall relaxing 4

xx by The xx
Aug 11 2026

Some decent / chill songs but nowhere near as good as I remeber
