Jun 24 2026

Great vibes! Wasn't sure at the start, but recognised a few on there! Ends with Free Bird of course. Great summer vibey album.

Hotel California by Eagles
Jun 26 2026

Not for me. Some half decent tunes on there, but just don't like the overall vibe.

The Clash by The Clash
Jun 29 2026

Classic. Great album - every track solid. Some solid Mick Jones sung tracks on there too - Protex Blue for example.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jul 01 2026

Interesting - sounds very classic Beach Boys, but definitely has some more experimental tracks that nod toward different genres.

Marcus Garvey by Burning Spear
Jul 02 2026

Marcus Garvey. I know who that is now.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Jul 03 2026

Love the first track synth hook. So 80s with the gated snare and the LinnDrum machine. Listened through twice - really like it. Might have to buy it.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Jul 06 2026

Reminds me of college! The first two tracks are great and have been heavily soundtracked over the years, so they are very well known. Reelin in the Years was the highlight for me during the rest of the album. That interlude riff is so good!

1984 by Van Halen
Jul 07 2026

PANAMA! Got some big hitters - Jump, Panama and Hot for Teacher, but I can listen to these in one offs in a playlist, not a full album. Too cheesy.

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
Jul 08 2026

Find Mark E Smith hard to like. It's okay. Don't think it's enough to drag me into a Fall rabbithole.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Jul 09 2026

Remember this from childhood, so pretty sure my parents had it! Good album - enjoyed every track and a nice change of pace from The Fall and Van Halen before. Might be worth a purchase if I see it knocking about cheap!

Jul 10 2026

Bit of a slog. I can respect them, but it's not for me. I can't imagine choosing to whack this on at any point. The weird song with the chorus about erogenous zones was weird...

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Jul 13 2026

What an album. I was trying to justify giving it a 4 instead of 5, but Black Dog, Rock and Roll, Stairway to Heaven, Misty Mountain Hop and When The Levee Breaks make it unjustifiable.

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Jul 14 2026

Got some decent tunes. Don't think I like it enough to revisit it.

Aha Shake Heartbreak by Kings of Leon
Jul 15 2026

Got some decent tunes. Don't think I like it enough to revisit it.

Jul 17 2026

Got some decent tunes! Found some of it quite boring.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jul 20 2026

Kinda liked it, but not really my thing.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Jul 27 2026

Like my some blues.

Heroes by David Bowie
Aug 04 2026

Wanted to like it more than I did, unfortunately! A lot of instrumental filler and I felt the only decent song was Heroes!

Aug 05 2026

Not really into the metal scene, but I can see why people like it.

White Ladder by David Gray
Aug 06 2026

Just dull and as middle of the road as it comes.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Aug 11 2026

Decent. A bit samey in places for me. A few stand out tracks - the first track obviously and Solid Ground.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Aug 14 2026

A classic. Got some great tunes on it. Time of the Season is ofc an absolute classic.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Aug 18 2026

A bit samey. A Forest is obviously a classic. Not sure on the rest...

#1 Record by Big Star
Aug 19 2026

Bit of a vibe, I must say! Was a fun one to listen to whilst making tea.

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Aug 20 2026

I get it, but not for me.

Fly Or Die by N.E.R.D
Aug 21 2026

Half missing on Spotify due to some weird self-censorship. Loved it when I was younger though. Bought the CD on MusicMagpie for 3 quid.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Aug 25 2026

Absolute classic. Always gives me a big nostalgia hit as I got into it when I first started working at ZOO - probs 2013ish.

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
Aug 26 2026

Took me back to being a 10-year-old wannabe gangster.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Aug 27 2026

Picked up as it went on, but not for me! RIP Dolly Parton - absolute philosopher.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Sep 02 2026

Bit of a modern classic in my eyes! Coincided with my first music festival too, so fond memories of this album! Ready to Start and The Suburbs are worth this alone.
