1001 Albums Summary

i love tha smithler, though something keeps any one of his albums from being a true 5/5 for me

i'm going on memory here from like, a year ago, but i remember thinking it was not that good

its fine, a few songs that really grab me (The Scientist, Clocks, GPASUYF) but otherwise above average background noise

i wish this site allowed for .5's cause this is more like a 4.5, I just think its got a few songs (are you ready for the country, there's a world) are just okay, but they are along some stone cold classics (alabama, out on the weekend, not to mention all the classic rock radio staples that don't even need a mention). It's very funny that Neil (or a producer, i guess) thought that a man needs a maid needed the big orchestral treatment lmao

The songs are cool, but this is not my style really. 3.5, if i could give it, but a 4 cause a 3 seems mean (i was also writing when it was on, so i reserve the right to change my opinion on a closer listen)

there are some amazing songs on here, but also some real stinkers

the woman who wrote 'Credit in the Straight World' and 'Dollparts' is an honorary trans woman, as far as im concerned. this album rules

"too long, clanky, too long!" but seriously, hearing these songs, most of which i liked, in the context of an album rather than a rave was weird, and not always in a good way. that being said, i can't really say i didn't like anything except tracks 6 and 7, and the final track. dance music isn't my thing in an album context most times, and this doesn't really serve as an exception. 3.5 if they allowed half grades, alas they don't, so a 3

there are some catchy melodies on here, but holy shit was this boring

if you're in outer space don't feel out of place there are thousands of others just like you

reggae is usually not my thing, but this was actually really great! lots of really cool variety alongside classics that i grew up with

"i will not be entranced by the siren song of Stephen Patrick Morrissey!" minutes later "I'VE SEEN IT HAPPEN/IN OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES/AND NOW IT'S HAPPENING IN MINE"

pretty sick hip hop of the sort i tend to enjoy, good stuff

some great songs and overall well produced, just gets a wee bit repetative, and some weird linds/song topics in places

OH yeah, its all coming together. this song has 3 of my favourite songs, and two of them are also probably the best songs of all time
