Just googled the vocalist, Matt Bellamy, because wow. The album itself pretty simple, as are the lyrics, but the beauty of this guy's voice raised the rating for me.
To my surprise, I didn't know a single song from a seemingly popular album. The beginning was good, the rest was okay. Definitely 2000s millennial rock lol.
Love a 70s rock album, their hits on this one are okay. Each song almost sounds the same, which can get boring pretty quickly. A little TOO classic wrong for my taste, but I can see how much of a staple this album must be in rock history.
To be honest, there aren't enough women in alternative music and rock so I was glad to listen to this album. Super unique with great vocals (imo) and music, not to mention an amazing song with Thom Yorke.
I actually really loved this album; 70s rock, unique, full of life and vigour. A solid 4.
I've never been one to listen to hiphop so this album was a very new genre to me, but this is the reason I'm doing this anyways. To be honest, I didn't mind it, very simple background music really highlights the meaning and flow of the lyrics. HM to Rock box and Sucker MC's Krush-Groove 1.
Such a strong led zeppelin vibe with this album, absolutely loved it. The first song was quite the journey and the rest were bangers.

This album made me realise I need to get out of my comfort zone and listen to albums in foreign languages. My spanish knowledge is very limited, but I know some french and portuguese so I gathered what I could from the lyrics. The melodies are an absolute vibe and I found myself at ease yet wanting to get up and dance at the same time.
Is it knockoff oasis with heavy nirvana influence? Yes, so the lack of originality didn't pass me. However, art is inspiration and music is art so it wasn't all that bad.

The album started off well but quickly became repetitive. I quite like punk rock, but I find the best albums are those with distinct songs each with it's own tune, despite remaining in the same genre (take for example The Clash's London Calling album). At some point I felt like the album was noise without meaning.
Not too shabby. Personally like their violator album more, but this one had a really strong start which I loved.
Adele's voice is unapologetically beautiful and strong, so much so that I don't even mind how basic the background music is. The album gave me bouts of nostalgia from billboard hits when I was younger, I really enjoyed it. While not my preferred gerne of music, giving anything less than a 4 would be a disservice to how amazing this entire album is.
I understand the sentiment that all ACDC songs sound the same. As a rock fan, I can't hate the album, but there are better out there, specifically better ACDC albums which have more of a place on this list than this one does. I was tempted to give it a 4 for highway to hell and touch too much, but then I thought of their back in black album and realised this was a solid 3.
My honest opinion is that it wasn't that bad, I like RHCP and the vibe of their music. Their rap/rock mix is unique and the album is full of enjoyable beats with a very strong start. However, there is a lack of structure or meaning to the album which I feel By the Way does a little bit better. I would say the first 5 songs were a 5, and the rest were 3s and 2s.
I'm torn between a 3 and a 4 for this one. Initially, I liked their sound, very much oasis if more grungy and experimental. Their first couple tracks (Specifically telling stories and with no shoes) were great and on the track for a 4 star album. I didn't notice at first, but after looking at some reviews, the lyrics are pretty crap, if you could even hear them. I don't fuss about lyricism as I'm all for the music part of a song, though when you're going to be singing the ENTIRE song, you might as well have enjoyable or memorable lyrics, this is something I felt oasis did very well.
All the hate coldplay gets makes me so reluctant to give their albums a high rating, but Ill try my best to judge fairly. Some of their tracks aren't bad and even worth listening to. I used to really like them when I was younger, yellow and sparks to be specific, but now I'm leaning more into their Radiohead-inspired songs like Shiver. Honestly, this album, while less upbeat, is on the same tier as a rush of blood to the head.
I honestly enjoyed the album and totally regret not getting into linkin park sooner, especially as someone who recently took an interest to metal. The lyrics are either super corny and cringey or relatable. I've read a lot of hate about them, but I've honestly heard worse. That being said, I the album could have done with more unique drumming and something other than the generic background metal guitar. I WILL say the album is overrated, but certainly not a bad or not worth listening to.
I feel like I should like this album and I really don't. I feel that the lyrics lack conviction or purpose, and that the singer is less singing them and more just reading them out loud. Something about his voice really irks me.
I personally like this old style rock, so I was surprised to find how much I struggled through this album.
It's not the worse, though. Some of the more upbeat songs are nice with the exact punk/indie rock drums and guitar which usually have me obsessed. Modern World and Roadrunner are the 3s on this album.
I understand the want to make weird music, experiment with sound and make avant-garde music, but I felt a serious lack of musical flow and correlation between songs in this album. Felt like a lot of random noise that my ears didn't like very much.
I love prog rock and even prog techno, popularly led zeppelin, pink floyd and king crimson. This album showed me a very different form of prog rock which I'm not sure I entirely enjoyed (at least I didn't like the first song very much, it reminded me of video game music and only became okay at the end). This album didn't quite hit the mark for me, but it wasn't by any means horrible, just meh.
