Copper Blue by Sugar

As a fan of Hüsker Dü, I’m embarrassed to admit that I had no idea about any of Bob Mould’s other projects, so this was a nice surprise! Didn’t leave too much of an impression on me, but it was super solid, with some great standout tracks!

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Sep 01 2026

Easily one of the best albums ever recorded. Makes me realize that there are at least 4 Pink Floyd albums that I would rate 5/5 stars. Listening with good headphones/speakers is a must. So many cool details, perfect melodies, and the best sounding synths I’ve ever heard on a rock album, by far.

Doolittle by Pixies
Sep 03 2026

One of those albums I don’t return to often, but each time I do appreciate it more, and wonder why it’s not in my rotation more regularly. One of the most 90s sounding 80s records I’ve heard.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Sep 04 2026

Still my favorite Sabbath. One of those records I’m always in the mood for. Everything about this is perfect, even by today’s standards; cannot fathom how mind-blowing this would have been back in 1970. Easy to see how influential this was, but I honestly wish we had more music coming out today that sounds closer to this particular album.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Sep 09 2026

Nothing quite like the atmosphere of this album. So good that I ended up listening to Cocteau Twins all day!

Risque by CHIC
Sep 10 2026

Wow, didn’t expect to love this as much as I did. Perfect disco!

Sep 11 2026

So good that I immediately listened to the entire Live at Wembley 1974 recording as soon as side B ended. There aren’t many full albums that I would choose to listen to multiple times consecutively, but between this and Black Sabbath this list has given us two so far!

As a fan of Hüsker Dü, I’m embarrassed to admit that I had no idea about any of Bob Mould’s other projects, so this was a nice surprise! Didn’t leave too much of an impression on me, but it was super solid, with some great standout tracks!

I LOVED this. Listening to this record re-ignited my love for Drum and Bass, a genre that I haven’t been really into since I was a teenager! One of those perfect listens where I had the excitement of hearing something I had never heard before, yet it also evoked an incredibly strong feeling of nostalgia.

The Bends by Radiohead
Sep 17 2026

Hit me harder than usual this time. Made me realize that this album has always subtly grown on me with each listen. Several of their best songs are on here, imo!

Moon Safari by Air
Sep 19 2026

WOW this was incredible. I remember reading about this album before, but never got around to listening to it. So glad I finally did, I can see this becoming a new favorite!

I See You by The xx
Sep 20 2026

Kind of a mixed bag for me, but there were several tracks that I really loved. Good stuff, in general!

Heroes by David Bowie
Sep 21 2026

The whole Berlin Trilogy gets five stars, that’s just how it is, sorry, I don’t make the rules. But seriously, I’m glad this encouraged me to revisit this masterpiece. I love that he makes space in this record to experiment with some ambient tracks, something that makes this and Low two of his best records, in my opinion!

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Sep 22 2026

I’ll admit that I haven’t listened to a lot of Talking Heads outside of Remain in Light, so I’m happy to see this on here! Great album, such a unique sound, still!

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Sep 23 2026

The good stuff. That Lady and Summer Breeze are obvious highlights, but everything here is great!

Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Sep 25 2026

This rules. Didn’t quite hit like Spiritualized does for me, but it’s always cool to trace an artist’s work back to their earlier stuff, see what elements of their sound carry on to the next project! Suicide is badass!

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Sep 26 2026

Incredible debut. Resisting the urge to give it 5 stars, despite how much I love it, just because Zeppelin IV exists and is surely included in these 1001 albums. I could never get enough of the drum fills on Dazed and Confused.

Rocks by Aerosmith
Sep 27 2026

I was worried that I’d have a bit of a bias, since I listened to a ton of Aerosmith as a child, so their music always elicits strong feelings of nostalgia. Honestly though, this was awesome. Probably their best record, certainly their most raw and authentic to my ears. Loved this.

The Libertines by The Libertines
Sep 28 2026

Wow, what a fun record. Loved pretty much every second of this. Makes me want to check out the rest of their stuff!

Sep 29 2026

Haven’t really sat down and intentionally listened to an R.E.M. record before, so this was a nice recommendation. Liked it more than I thought I would, tbh!

London Calling by The Clash
Sep 30 2026

God, this record is so good. One of those I absolutely need to return to more. Lives up to its reputation, for sure.

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu
Oct 01 2026

Pretty brown. Hell yeah. Cool recommendation!

Car Wheels On A Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams
Oct 02 2026

3.5 if I could. Consistently great country the whole way through, but no real standout moments for me, either. So happy I’ve had the chance to see her live a few times. This was a good reminder to check out more of her discography!

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Oct 03 2026

Awesome compilation. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more Miles Davis on here, but kinda funny that I’ve seen this twice on this site now. Really hope Bitches Brew is somewhere in this collection.

Savane by Ali Farka Touré
Oct 04 2026

I could actually listen to this all day. I was completely captivated by this honestly. Such a cool sound.

The Renaissance by Q-Tip

Great stuff. Move is a killer track, can’t believe I’ve never heard this before!
