Lazer Guided Melodies by Spiritualized
Sep 09 2026

Shine a Light and Angel Sigh were highlights. I've listened to Songs in A&E (and I think Let It Come Down and Amazing Grace), so not unfamiliar with Spiritualized. Now I'm curious about Spaceman 3 and how that project differs. Light 6/10

Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds
Sep 10 2026

Love how aggressive they are with being prog. Thoughts and Words, CTA - 102, and Mind Gardens are pretty wild for the time period. Why and Renaissance Fair have classic 60s vibes. Really like the horns on Rock n Roll Star. Best Track: Thoughts and Words, My Back Pages, So You Want to be a Rock n Roll Star Worst Track: CTA - 102 Rating: Strong 7

Beach Samba by Astrud Gilberto
Sep 11 2026

My introduction to Astrud Gilberto. Great vocalist, 60s lofi, easy listening. I can't say any song actually stands out for me... Rating: Strong 6

Sep 14 2026

Nice sophomore album, lots of classic songs here. Favorite tracks: Warning Sign, Thank You for Sending Me an Angel, Artists Only, Take Me to the River. Rating: Decent 7

White Light / White Heat by The Velvet Underground
Sep 15 2026

Not my favorite VU. After a while the guitar noodling sounds like someone's playing with their ding dong. Best track: Lady Godiva's Operation Rating: 5/10

The Stooges by The Stooges
Sep 16 2026

Introduction to The Stooges in the full album sense. The popular songs are pretty good but the rest feels like filler. Best tracks: 1969, I Want to be your Dog, No Fun Rating: 6/10

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Sep 17 2026

Huge contrast from The Stooges S/T. This is my jam and my highest ranked album yet. Get chills on Some Weird Sin. Very good. Best tracks: Lust For Life, Some Weird Sin, The Passenger Rating: 9/10

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Sep 18 2026

So bad. Not worth a listen, nothing redeemable here. Kick it off the list. Best track: none Worst tracks: all Rating: 1/10

Skylarking by XTC
Sep 21 2026

Really first exposure to XTC. Love the transition between Summers Cauldron and Grass. Dear God is the only song I think I've heard before, which is an undeniable classic. Best tracks: Dear God, The Meeting Place, Earn Enough For Us Rating: 6/10

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Sep 22 2026

Nothing interesting here. Sounds the same Best track: Elvis Impersonator: Blackpool Pier Rating: 3/10

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Sep 23 2026

Classic album, zero question. Wish You Were Here induces chills every time. Shine On is a crazy 10 part epic as well. Best track: Wish You Were Here (others are great too) Rating: 10/10

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
Sep 24 2026

Great album, fantastic vibes for the era. Early Crosby, Stills, Nash (Young) motifs. Best track: Mr. Soul, Bluebird, Broken Arrow Rating: 7.5/10

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Sep 25 2026

Another classic. Not always in the mood for his style of music but it's always a delight to hear one of his songs when you least expect it. Best track: Pink Moon Rating: 9.5/10

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Sep 28 2026

Rough one. I don't really see any appeal, it doesn't even have a song equal to some of their more popular songs. Best track: none Rating: 1.5/10

Stephen Stills by Stephen Stills
Sep 29 2026

Opening with the best song ever written about infidelity. Rest of the album is not that exciting, but very listenable regardless. Best track: Love The One You're With Rating: 7/10

Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine
Sep 30 2026

Tricky one to find, not on any streaming. MBV is always pretty good, first intro to their early stuff. Rating: 4

Arrival by ABBA
Oct 01 2026

Not usually an ABBA fan but this album as a whole is good. Something cute about the most non-threatening band ever singing about how they are a lethal creature. I am the ✨🐯✨TIGAHHHH✨🐯✨ Best Tracks: Tiger, Dancing Queen, Money Money Money, Fernando, Dum Dum Diddle (yw Larso) Rating: 7.5/10
