Great groovy (and a bit funky) album. Some instrumentals, some songs with vocals.

Calibro 35 (caliber 35) is a cinematic funk Italian band formed in 2007 in Milan. The band has released seven albums and several movie soundtracks. Different songs from the band have been sampled into hip hop productions including Dr. Dre's "One Shot One Kill" and Jay Z's "Picasso Baby". The band started in 2007 when Italian producer Tommaso Colliva and guitarist Massimo Martellotta invited Enrico Gabrielli, Luca Cavina and Fabio Rondanini to what was supposed to be a five days long one-off studio project re-recording obscure music from Italian exploitation movie soundtracks.

This is some good solo-roadtrip music
Groovy beatz 👊
It’s funky and unique. Yet also lacking that next level to really make me groove along. It’s like a movie soundtrack with no context. It’s fun at times but others it’s like why did they add lyrics here or why didn’t they add lyrics more. It’s an interesting album that’s easy and fun to listen to but not something I’d revisit. 5.9/10
Well, another ambient, lounge music album that I can't rate equally as an album with music and lyrics like most on the lists, so there's not much to say other than that it's just okay.
holy. shit. where has this been all my life? I don't even know how to classify this other than "transcendent"
Throughout the project, I’ve enjoyed becoming more familiar with other psych and dub projects – to hear a modern, polished LP that fuses those genres exceptionally is an absolute treat, and an unexpected surprise that honestly has made my day. This album feels at once structured and airtight while maintaining a sense of organic freedom, resulting in some exciting tracks that buck the norm of what you’re expecting while masterfully executing on the instrumental level. Could’ve done without the vocal elements here and there, but thankfully they don’t detract from the incredible melodic sense throughout this album. It’s funds like these that make this project worth it, amazing add to the list.
Cool vibes. Liked it.
I really liked this a lot. It hits its mark of evoking a certain kind of cinematic music. One small gripe is it came off for me a little too much like a soundtrack album - all the parts didn't quite come together as a coherent whole. But those parts are pretty sweet nonetheless.
This is very cool! I enjoyed it. Will listen again. 4 stars.
Rating: 8/10 Best songs: Death of storytelling, Black moon, 4x4
I yoyo’d between enjoying and hating this album from track to track. It started okay then I didn’t love the rap stuff then it just became interesting instrumental contemporary funk stuff but there were still some annoying bits that kept me from really getting into it. I got a solo flea song once the album ended and I had no idea he made shit like this so that was pretty cool to hear.
I love the mood of this album. I do tend to favor the instrumentals over the tracks with vocals, which kind of break the vibe for me. Fave Songs: Death of Storytelling, Thunderstorms and Data, Fail It Till You Make It
Cinematic funk, jazz, alternative rock. Ni fu ni fa.
It was alright, but nothing particularly exciting.
I know it's really popular in some hip-hop/funk/whatever circles, but sampling ancient shit and adding beats... eh? Not my thing. It just comes out sounding all grimy and strange. I know they have ways of describing these beats in the UK - big beat or soemthing? I dunno. Whatever. Nothing against it, but it just doesn't move my dial at all. 2/5.
All-right album. Not really for me though. The raps are awesome, but the vibe is off. The cover is a damned masterpiece. 2
I don't really understand what this is for or in what circumstance one would listen to it. Rating: 1.5 Playlist track: Glory-Fake-Nation Date listened: 21/12/24
Nonsense - like a soundtrack to a dull movie, with more instrumental tracks than actual songs. Works as a showreel for a producer, or as a sample bank for other artists, but not as a coherent collection of actual songs.
