Cocteau TwinsI have no idea what any of those lyrics were. Listened to this using vintage Beyer headphones from the 80s. Sometimes things just make you stop and let the rain get you wet to the skin. Wonderful. So very wonderful.

I was hopeful that we'd get another Bowie before another Blue eyes. What I generally do in the wee small hours is snooze. Yeah, snooze fest time.
Them Eastern sounds. Them West Coast vibes. These jams will sure straighten out your chakras. Fantastic use of the Santoor. As the great MC would say, hammer time! Once you are all loosey goosey, float away on the bamboo flute sounds. It's pretty far out man.
Gosh, this is really good. I dig on some ambient tunes, both electro and otherwise. Metric Systems, Sarah Neufeld et al have really drunk from the Aphex fountain. This made me feel safe and at home, while taking me many places in space and time as well. Gotta love the history of these jams.
I love Bowie. This one is a good one, can't wait for his next in the list. He was just showing off on this album. What an artist.
I'm more of an Inspiral Carpets guy, but this one fascinated me when it was new and glossy. The cover was quite something.
Fond memories of this album in a Tokyo laundromat. Cup of noodles from a vending machine. Clothes sloshing away. Headphones on riding that downtown train. I always do the Rod Stewart double with that Tom Waits song. The world is a great place ;)
Listened to this a week or so ago. Why? So I could articulate why Kate and Tori are different blends of tea.
Let's just hold this ine close.
Them harmonies. The brilliant studio work. Very pure
Swoon. I've been on a 90s kick lately, so this is a nice way to start. Looking forward to the reviews and discoveries along the way.
A celebration of the vibraphone :) I can imagine JJ Cale listening to this album a lot as he locked in his signature guitar style. The brightness of some chord progressions are very Troubadour. Is this one really in the 1001 list though?
The USA didn't have an appetite for this one and neither do I. I find it hard to believe this was the birth of the Brit pop sound. Nevermind...
Love me some acoustic bass... Stone cold classic. If you were a teen in the 80s or 90s this album just exists in your brain, fan or not. Let's call it Femmeosis.
That silky gravy voice, just needs a side of Dean Martin to make any night a pizza and pasta night. Without it I feel like wrapping Christmas presents. How grand would life have been without: global warming, the knowledge of cigarettes causing cancer and shoes off international plane travel. Tip of the hat and we are away. Also, feminism.
What a very, very, very fine record.

Started out with way more guitars than expected. Soon settled in to Wonder style grooves. A few surprises and a few familiar tunes. Quite the easy afternoon listen. 76 FTW!
Absolutely Fabulous. Undertones of Hendrix in the vocals at times and at others it is the bayou piano that hits. This is one easy listening and very influential album.
I had a giggle when this popped up. There are a few hip hop lines I use in the everyday and this album has one of them. Cold lampin with the flave. I'ma going to be rapping all night long. But that is just another tale from the dark side. I feel the basic beats have aged a little. I ♥ Chuck D and the Flave but find myself reminiscing more over A Tribe Called Quest. I played Fear of a Black Planet and Apocalypse 91 more as a teen. Still a fun listen.

Blues and blues and rock. I enjoyed hearing the evolution of a great guitarist, as well as the softening of a voice. Whoever mic'd that drum kit needs a talking to. How many pillows were stuffed into that floor tom?
Ooooo. I've been on a PJ jag lately... This is very exciting... I loved this when it was released, now time for a focussed relisten! Yay. Love the autoharp, didn't she play it like a rockstar 😍 The bugle in The Glorious Land fascinates me everytime I listen to this album. Super cool inclusion
A guitar teacher's dream. I really liked the harmonica and that ONE tempo change towards the end. Blues had a baby and they called it rock and roll. Next stop, desert...
Noise Noise Noise and more Noise. Beautiful Noise. Sonic Youth you do it like no other, going at it like a bull in the heather. Kim Gordon didn't get enough props for her work in this band. Thurston Moore uses a Big Muff to very different effect to how I did when I was younger and more of a Kool Thing. Scream, squelch, drive, dive and rise again. One thing is for certain. I'd love to jam some of these songs live and loud. Noise Noise Noise and I love it.

When Janet says bass bass bass then hits you in the feels with a tin pan full of treble you know it is a brink of the 90s release. (I did a few dance moves when I saw this selection. Stomp slide, stomp slide... 😂) Let JJ take you on an escapade. Like a moth to the flame, I actually settled in and enjoyed the second half of the album.
Saturday morning. Southwest style omelette on a milk bun. Bob in the background. I appreciate the song writing. I understand the love. I had a coffee as this isn't my cup. Nuf said.
Just like Dolly, short, bold and pretty giving. Too brief for a Friday album.
Some of the track listings have been lost to time on Spotify. Sad. Upside though, I love an overdriven el34 coupled with a fuzz face. There is something so limitless to the sound of this era. Pure tube goodness and the simple pleasures of free and easy songwriting. This one was all about the vintage amp sound for me. I'm a valve tragic!
If you've ever seen the movie Home and recall how the Boove start dancing involuntarily when they hear music, well that was me with these tunes. Hip shaking music I love you.
Cool calm collected.
Lou has a great voice. Some brilliant songs are written in 5 minutes. Some songs sound like they were written in 5 minutes. I'm sure this album has both.

A second Suede album... I want some female content please... The album that broke the band, soaked in reverb and acid, makes me have visions of other tasty musical treats from the 90s. Some Neds Atomic Dustbin would have hit the spot more so than this one.
Welcome to America. Welcome to Nashville. We want Chilli Willie!
Haven't heard of these guys before. Haven't missed much because of this. I felt like they were a "wanna start a rock band cuz" kinda ensemble.
I was enjoying this, then Enjoy the Silence came on. What a great song. It resonates with me so much and made the whole album more meaningful to me. Very Depeche Mode. Very 80s mode for the 90s. Very new wave new romantic.
And a heavy hitter comes to play. This is arguably one of the top 50 or 10 best albums of forever. Enter with a clear mind and a strong spirit, Nick can get heavy... 28 minutes worth listening to. Fret buzz and same same vocals and all. Really comes home strong.
Woo hoo! Herbie time! A funky 70s Herbie, a bit of fun but can't hold a candle to some of his other works. Fat Albert Rotunda is one of my all time top ten, so competing with that is hard.
Snoozeville
I have a mate named Malcom Young. He called his son Angus. That is so Hard Rock Aussie right there. Oh and Bon Scott left his underwear in my mum's shower. Good times.
I think I'm dumb or maybe I'm just happy. I think I'm just happy.
Bubbles might have loved this but I just kept saying, stop screaming at me.
Didn't hold my attention
Great bass. Nice vibes. I would listen again
I missed the Dre on the first take. The Lakers beat the Super Sonics. Drugs are bad. Mmm kay
Sometimes an aesthetic just grabs you from word go. God knows I know not what this magical combination or way of combining things is, but damn this has it in spades. It lives not in the land of the olfactory, but I can smell it. I can smell it.
I've suggested a few times that Dua Lipa is the Marvin Gaye of our times. This needed a little more of that half melted chocolate ooze.
First two tracks, wow! This album is a solid childhood memory, my parents had thw record.
