Make Yourself
IncubusFirst Incubus album I owned, and probably still their best, even though I’m partial to S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
First Incubus album I owned, and probably still their best, even though I’m partial to S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
Should have just listened to Lynyrd Skynyrd
Three songs already liked from the album (Even Flow, Alive and Jeremy) added Once, Black and Porch. All other songs weren’t bad, no disappointments
Two songs already liked on Spotify before listening (Scar Tissue and Californication). Know a few will be liked for sure, like Around the World, Parallel Universe, Otherside and Get on Top. Feels like after the first 6 songs the rest of the album is a write off (except Road Trippin’) Purple Stain would have been better as an instrumental Disliked: Right on Time Hated: I Like Dirt Great band with a terrible frontman
Not really listened to much Elliot Smith in the past, he’s one of those artist I keep meaning to check out. No Spotify likes previously on this album. Didn’t think I’d have be contemplating Søren Kierkegaard on the weekend. Liked: Speed Trials, Alamada, Ballard of Big Nothing, Between the Bars,
Mostly a covers album but Cash’s vocals really give these songs a really different feel to them. Love his cover of Hurt and Personal Jesus and the original song The Man Comes Around
I didn’t expect to enjoy this one, at first I thought his style was too monotonous but I really vibed out with this one
The first real masterpiece I’ve discovered on this list.
I never really understood the appeal of The Hives (and The Strokes) but there are some catchy songs here
Stylish but the only read stand out for me was Dear God
War Dogs is such a great song. I also like Paranoid and Iron Man, but not sure if I've heard the rest of the album before. Musically; this is a great album, I probably would prefer listening to this album without Ozzy singing, and just enjoy the music.
Amazing album, the only Metallica album I still listen to.
First Incubus album I owned, and probably still their best, even though I’m partial to S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
Why Tainted Love is by far the standout from this album/band, this was a great listening experience.
Not a fan of the blues style here.
I'm Glad, Zig Zag Wanderer and Sure 'Nuff 'n' Yes, I do are standouts on this album
I like the political messaging but not a big fan of 80's Punk
The back story of this album is heartbreaking, but Foo Fighters went on to be just as big as Nirvana.
I really need to listen to some more trip-hop, it is aesthetically pleasing to my ears
Wild World and Father and Son are truly iconic songs, Cat Stevens created a beautiful album that is still well worth listening to.
All the Way from Memphis is the only stand out song here.
So many good memories from this album. Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Don't Look Back in Anger still in high rotation.
Great album, but Howlin' for You is the true standout
decent muzak, but not my style
Nice old school punk
Very 90s
Never really paid much attention to Lorde before, but this album slaps!
HARD PASS
I like the rockability nature of these punk songs.
great voice and songwriter, but not a fan of the style
I have the album Medúlla generated for me very recently, so can't tell if it is fatigue from Björk music or if that other album was better.
funky background muzak
N.W.O and Jesus Built My Hotrod are both bangers
Turnover, Repeater and Blueprint were good songs
Super stylish R&B album.
Standouts include Beyond Belief and Man Out of Time
I like their style, but every song felt too similar to get any appeal from this album
Oh my god that's some funky shit!
It's not Christmas time, so feels weird to listen to Christmas songs
Iconic band, but I think I need to smoke whatever they are smoking
At times Cornershop sounds like Eels and I'd rather listen to them. Also prefer the Norman Cook remix of Brimful of Asha more than the original
Not a fan of Cheap Trick, they have one good song, I don't care about a live performance.
Nothing against Britney, plus there are some iconic songs on this album, but Max Martin doesn't write good lyrics, catchy songs yes, but those lyrics are cringe.
Not really a Devo fan, but Uncontrollable Urge and their cover of (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction were the standouts.
Not my thing, but not a bad album
Would enjoy this more if I was high
I like the instrumental tracks, but don't think Paul Weller's vocals did this any justice.
She is iconic but not found any country music I liked...also WTF was Traveling Man
Iconic singer, Blueberry Hill the obvious hit from the album
I never really got into Blur, I think Parklife and Girls & Boys are decent songs, but not for me.
Great album, even if I had to search elsewhere for it because it's not on Spotify.
Dusty has a great voice, her cover of Lesley Gore's You Don't Own Me is good, but a little too stripped back to what I want from that song.
I'm not into the 80's New Wave screen, it all feels too much the same.
There isn't much of the hits from Fleetwood Mac here
This album was so smooth
I'm not high enough for this
Should have just listened to Lynyrd Skynyrd
Not really a big fan of hip-hop, but I have to appreciate an album like this, it was a landmark piece that pathed the way for the 'Gangsta rap' scene in the 90s
I like Prince's voice but can't say any of these songs stood out to me.
Great singer, but all songs felt too much the same
Not something I would relisten to
If you told me this album came out in the 80's I would assume you were lying. For an album released in 1988 this has an iconic 90's sound.
Iconic album
Pretty sure I don't like country, this didn't prove me wrong.
This would have been a spectacular concert.
(What's the Story) Morning Glory? is a far superior album
Steely Dan singer attempts a Jazz album
I only knew Solsbury Hill from this album but such a cinematic (is that the right word?) album
Great hip-hop album
It's that weird period between their Thrash metal/death metal style to their industrial style which I prefer,
There She Goes is a hit. While I like the style (it felt like a blend of 80's synth pop and 90's butt rock), not much on this album stood out.
Search and Destroy is the only song I enjoyed
I really liked The Thrill of It All, the rest of the album was okay.
This is probably one of the best albums from Björk
Great blues album for a Friday afternoon
Great ambient music
I feel like the style of songs were far too similar, but a decent 90's R&B album
jazzy album
Beautifully depressing album.
Much like A Girl Called Dusty, this is a good album, plus it has the iconic Son of A Preacher Man on it.
Is this the most recent album on this list? I'm surprised to see it on this list. A great indie folk album.
I like the orchestral aesthetic, I just didn't love any of these songs. The songs all felt far too similar to all the other songs.
Makes me want to be in a cool snowy climate, listening to this
