1001 Albums Summary

Underwhelming. I can appreciate the music and the synth pop feel but I'm not a huge fan.

I was not impressed by this. I was hoping for a lot of different sounds and things I haven't heard before. How Soon Is Now is one of my favorite songs ever because it's so unique. Nothing on this album was really any different than any other alternative/new age 80s pop.

This is one of my favorite albums. Listening to this makes me picture myself at some small club in Havana surrounded by the local people just taking in this whole experience.

This made me feel elegant and calm and really fit the mood driving home from an event on a cold, rainy Monday night. Even so, it's not something I'd listen too regularly. Perhaps to fit a mood, but that's it.

Pretty good. I wasn't the biggest fan back in the day but she's got some solid skills

I like Bjork. Her music is so much different than anything else. Very creative and worth exploring more.

What can you say? This is classic Cat Stevens. The man is a legend and his music unique.

I've never been a punk fan. I don't know why, it just doesn't appeal to me. This record was mostly that: a more modern punk-inspired English rock album. I didn't hate it but didn't find it enjoyable either.

I appreciate how different this album was from pretty much every previous rap album. I like the dark humor, too, but the vulgarity gets to be a bit much. For me, about halfway through I found myself getting tired of the incessant swearing (not that I normally consider myself prudish, but still). It's a very good album, though, and certainly worth at least one listen.

Listening to the first half of this, I was wondering how this guy even got a record deal. It sounded like so much noise accompanied by not-very-interesting instrumental sounds (not gonna call it music). It got better during the second half of the album but I can't imagine bringing myself to like this. I'll give it a 2 and I feel that's being generous.

This was OK. I can't think of much more to say.

Eh. Not a Beatles fan. This album was OK but not gonna change my mind on this group.

I hated this. Hated it. Hated it. Hated it. ...and I can't for the life of me see how anyone can appreciate this garbage, either. ...and believe me, I tried. I listed to the album twice on separate days and I can't wrap my brain around it. Every song sounds the same and it all drives me crazy. No more.

This is a fun album. I think is like to give this another listen at some point in the near future.

It was OK. I'm glad I listened to it but I probably wouldn't again.

The first part of the album was fun to listen to. Different, kinda lively. The demo tracks on the second half were painful to listen to in comparison. I'm giving it a three, but likely would've given it a 4 if they'd have skipped the demo tracks.

Hated it. Awful crap. Sucked. Why are they making me listen to this tripe? I can't find any redeeming value whatever in this so called music. Pure torture to listen to. 0/10 do not recommend.

This was unexpectedly good for a punk album. Some of the tracks reminded me of Yes, especially the first one. I could listen to this again.

It was ok

This one is always a good listen. Great work by the B Boys.

Screechy, awful noise. I can see where some might say that this resembles music in some way, but I'm definitely not one of those. This was hard to tolerate at best.

I'm glad I listened to it. Not much more to say, really.

I'm not much of a Chili Peppers fan. This was certainly better than most of the punk stuff earlier in my list, but not worth another listen.

A couple good songs. A bunch more OK songs but the albums has a unique sound. Too many swears to make it acceptable around family.

This one was enjoyable and provocative at times. Good album but one of the songs needs caution exercised depending on who's listening.

Definitely some classic hits but they sit alongside some snoozers, too.

It's good for what it is. But every song seems to sound the same. And I'm still not impressed with gangsta' rap.

I can see why this sold well in it's day but now it sounds like the kind of elevator music you'd hear in a doctor's waiting room.

A fun listen

This was a cool album in some ways. The tunes are catchy and there are plenty of good riffs to be found. Much of the lyrical content is pretty sophomoric and the band name makes me uncomfortable in it's implications.

This was very enjoyable. Lots of variations in style and it sounded really good. This is one I might buy in physical form.

Ugh. Why did I just listen to that whole thing? Total snooze fest. Dirge after dirge. The only good thing I can say is that it's mercifully short.

It was good to hear the source of SO many hip hop samples. The music was fun but not quite as engaging as I had expected. Still definitely worth a re-listen.

This is basically almost every Doors song I'd hear on the classic rock stations growing up. Great work and great music.

I didn't get to listen to most of this album as Amazon Music had most of the tracks restricted for some reason. What I heard was good and I wish I could have listened to the rest.

This was excellent. B.B. King was a master of his craft. Truly great listening.

This had an interesting variety of styles, ranging from ballads to electronic to rock but I've never really been able to connect with her music.

Didn't suck

This is an excellent album all around. Its not going to be everyone's cup of tea but the talent here is really undeniable.

This album is folksy, weird, and, at times, humorous. I found myself laughing out loud at New York Telephone Conversation. A few of the tracks have a bit of a creepy element to them but overall this was a fun listen.

Undeniable talent. It's a shame she left this world too soon. I'd have loved to see what she had in store if her alcoholism hadn't got the better of her.

This was good. I started out listening with the thought that this is different and somewhat unique and that I liked the style. Later on, though, it became somewhat repetitive and slow. Overall, though, I'm glad I listened.

I like the way this album started. His sound is rather unique and Let's Stay Together is definitely a classic but the rest of the songs didn't hold up as well.

Elvis Costello was never really my favorite. I can see the appeal after having listened to this album, but it's still not my favorite music.

Ugh. I don't like Bob Dylan. The best I can say about this record is it's inoffensive. I won't give it a 1 as it doesn't completely ruin my day but I don't like it.
