1001 Albums Summary

Really unique, beautiful songs. Her voice reflects the hardships and turmoil experienced throughout her life. It’s a bit raw, raspy, and slightly chaotic.

Got this used from a record shop in Hillcrest, San Diego for a few bucks. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Could listen to this album all day.

It felt wandering and aimless. I love off beat sounds and psychedelia, but this one isn’t it.

Some interesting ideas and phrasings peppered throughout the album. Generally a tad bland. Very straightforward instrumentation.

I don’t think I need to listen to anymore albums after this one. Shut ‘er down boys, we’re done.

My problem with this album is it was unlistenable. It’s not his voice, but the rapid fire words that have no melody to draw you in. I was in the middle of a project and had to stop was I was doing to turn it off because it was annoying me so profusely.

Of all the albums ever released across the globe this one does not come close to ranking in the top 1,001.

To compare this to any other magnificent album on the list is criminal

It’s just so boring. It’s the aural equivalent of a mayo sandwich on white bread. Couldn’t wait for it to be over.

Incredibly strong album. It’s positively drenched in the smell of hash oil and whiskey. They made something really great here and it’s a pleasure to keep pressing play again and again.

It was mentally exhausting to listen to this album. It wasn’t particularly musical— the bass parts stood out as the most jarring and unnatural. If you like groves and good song writing then this album isn’t for you. If you like brooding beats with no chord progressions and spoken word then give it a spin.

This is what I’m here for. A band I’ve never heard of with an album that’s so easy to spin over and over again. I’ll grab a Sonora dog next time I listen to this one
