1001 Albums Summary

One of my favourite albums, been listening to it for many years.

Mmm...not something I would have chosen to listen to. However, he is clearly an accomplished pianist and I detect an element of progressiveness in his compositions.

Some great soul, funk and rock sounds here. A couple of the tracks took me back to the 70s. Really like the bass and lead guitar. Great album.

Not my cup of tea; however, the success of Walk on the Wild Side and Perfect Day must mean something. To me the lyrics sounded forced, just for a rhyme.

Unmistakable Neil Young vocals and acoustic sound, but for me album does not come to life until the second half, when the lead guitar kicks in.

Didn't enjoy this, which was surprising because I was quite a fan of their earlier stuff.

Excellent album, classic Neil Young, memorable.

Ridiculously long tracks. I can see how this appeals to some, but not for me.

Well...gave it a go not expecting to enjoy it; however, the gentle beat was easy listening and mid way through I heard "how can I be sure, in a world that's constantly changing". It's David Cassidy, what a treat dragged me back to 1973 ish!

Easy listening, not something I would have usually listen to.

Great early punk (ish). Enjoyed the different version of London's Calling.

So, electronica not my thing, I really don't get it. However, there is definitely some early Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd sounds in there, sadly it doesn't progress into anything memorable.

Bit boring, was waiting for it to warm up, then it ended.

Once again, not something I'd listen to

Very repetitive and simplistic sound/rhythms; however, it's dated because it is dated. An early sixties vibe, but clearly not as popular as other bands of the day. Wouldn't listen again

Enjoyed it very much.

I guess The Beatles did it with Ravi Shankar, so why not some Rolling Stones and The Doors! No thanks...

Fantastic album, probably Rush at their best, Tom Sawyer and YYZ, superb.

Good old fashioned sound, love it.

Excellent album, too many great songs to comment individually; however, My Old Man and Sweet Gene Vincent deserve a special mention.
