1001 Albums Summary

2/5. Nothing special to me

I appreciated the introduction that orients the listener (particularly the Western listener like myself) to the music. While it was interesting to hear about the music, I can't say it actually changed my listening expiernce greatly. This album was simulantiously fun and anxiety inducing for me. Can't say I will ever listen to it again but who knows!

Obsessed with Playground Love. Could listen to that foreverrrrr. The rest is good but disappointing after such a strong start. Overall it is an pretty smooth yet interesting listen. Now I gotta watch this movie?

Fun! At times a little moody and other times a little tropical? Good variety but still a cohesive album.

Hmm this was a little annoying? It was interesting but I am not sure I will be drawn to ever listen to it again. I think I appreciate how annoying it was though lol

Overall quite good. My only complaint is that by the end of the album it was feeling very show-tuney and whiney. A couple gems throughout tho!

These guys were def having fun! I appreciate a lot about this album. So danceable but also politically charged. Can't say I am walking away from listening to this one with a changed opinion on ska - it has a time and place and for me it is very rare that I am in that place at the right time.

I don't know how to feel about this one. It is intriguing to me. I may return to it.

Danggit Joni! This is a hard one to review because on the one hand there are some nearly perfect tracks and then on the other hand her voice is so annoying on some of them. Very mixed feelings....

Quite dramatic at times. Overall pretty easy listening but nothing that wowed me.

Got really into this one! Not sure I've ever really intentionally listened to the Beastie Boys but dang they popped off with this one
