Love me some White Stripes!
I thought I liked Prince music & 80's music, but I am actually surprised how much I disliked this album! Couldn't wait for it to end. I think it's all the synth that's driving me crazy. :(
Friday 10:27AM: @ work... Three songs in... Master of Puppets... Popped the 2nd earbud in & ready to score this a 5 star & KICK! TODAY'S! ASS!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 11:45AM: Holy shit this album is 2+Hrs. long - F*ck Yeah!!! Still kicking ass @ Wherever I May Roam! If this album doesn't get you amped up check your pulse, you may have died. ☠💀☠
The beats, rhythms, & grooves of this album are great. Not something I could listen to everyday, but it's got my respect for sure! Corny, but I also enjoy the speaking tracks & crackling record effects sprinkled in. Classic throw back album for my generation. I'm curious how younger generations would grade this album. Had I not grown up to this, I'm not sure I could grade it as high as I did.
So... This must have been #1001.
I'm a huge fan of The White Stripes & Jack White. This is a good album, but not my favorite from them. This is a little too light & airy. I enjoy their later albums that are heavier & more aggressive. However, It's fun to go back & hear the older albums & listen to the growth of the group.
Classic! God Father's of Rock & Roll. Their first album & it's terrific from start to finish. It's almost to short though... the album was over before I knew it.
Meh... Radiohead is very hit or miss with me. I believe I'm more of a mainstream Radiohead fan & this album doesn't have any of their mainstream hits on it. I'm sure die hard RadioHeadies love this sort of album, but for me, it's a Meh.
Similar to Prince & Purple Rain... I think I like David Bowie music, but this album was just not it for me.
Ok, not the worst album I've hear on this list, but it's close LOL. Seriously these lyrics are laughable! Maybe this was impressive in 1980, but now it sounds like something you could generate with Ai. Not good.
3 Stars - Pretty good considering the album's I've heard lately on this list. Not my genre of choice, but getting better! Can't lie... "We got the beat" is a classic good tune!
I'm not sure I'm rating the correct album, when I searched Throwing Muses (The Album) on Spotify it says it was released in 2003. Oh well... So, I had to listen to this twice. First time it was just a bunch of noise, but after hearing it a second time it's actually really good! Alt-Rock with a strong note of Grunge if you ask me. Pretty good stuff!
Immediate gratification with This is a call. Followed right up with I'll stick around. Damn, I forgot just how good these guys are! The end of the Album is less mainstream & a little forgotten about, but overall, GREAT ALBUM! I'm very biased considering 90's Seattle grunge has got to be my all time favorite genre of music.
It's a really, really good Christmas album, but it's a Christmas album for crying out loud!
Pretty good album. Off beat, but catchy.
suc le blu... No thanks. #IgnorantAmericanHere
An iconic, artistic album. I was introduced to this album back in art school (2003) after listening to The Dandy Warhol's & finding out The Velvet Underground was a large influence. I'm sure I thought it was amazing back then, but now I can only appreciate about half this album. In fact, I skipped forward a lot when the distorted guitar rifts got too obnoxiously long & over done. Still some really good tunes on this album.
Total mood album... pretty good stuff.
Absolutely love The Beatles. Their early stuff is not my favorite, but still some good tracks. Only a 30+ minute listen.
One hit wonder with a bunch of unsa, unsa, unsa beats.
Better then the last Bowie album from this list. Heroes is a great single & there are a couple others on this album that keep you engaged. It petered out at the end.
Now this is the Radiohead I know! Great Album!
This album is awesome. The idea alone is incredible. Johnny Cash is awesome.
I don't know a single one of these songs, but damn this is good music!
I want to give this 2.5 stars... Better then I was expecting. Vibes like a 1990's album, but released in 2015.
Meh... Just a bunch of noise to me.
Not bad. Not Great.
No thank you.
Good piano playing , but this just turns into background noise for me.
Maybe I'm over scoring this one based on numerous duds in a row, but good album. plenty of fun songs worth listening to.
I didn't know Cash did multiple jail recordings. Not as good as Folsom, but still really good stuff!
Really good album. No idea how good A Tribe Called Quest is! I listened to a bunch of their stuff after hearing this album. Noddin & bobbin my head through this entire album.
I think I like their stuff better on studio recorded albums.
Back to back Who albums & this one was a studio recorded one. Just as I thought, I enjoyed this one more then the Live album.
Good album. First time listened form start to finish. Lots of good, known songs on this one. And the not-so-know stuff is fun to listen to as well.
Not terrible, but nothing I'd listen to again.
Couldn't get into this. Very melancholy & turned into background noise very quickly.
RIP Bowie, but I did not care for this very much. I almost gave up on this album completely until track 8: I'd Rather Be High. That & a couple more towards the end were OK. -----Side Note: I'm 40 albums into this experiment & only have 9 albums @ 4 or 5 stars. So, less then 25%... I don't know how many more bad albums I can handle before I give up on this. 😫😫😫
Sunshine Superman & Season of the Witch completely carry this album, the rest is decent listening too.
Got through 3 songs & quit.
WTF
Not my every day style of music, but this is really good stuff.
Got to respect it. It was good, but not amazing.
Awesome album.
Pretty good actually.
I actually was expecting better. Only a couple good songs on this album, the rest was meh at best.
I thought it would have more known songs on it. Still good, but very short album!
You can only listen to so much Celtic Punk & typically it has to be closer to St. Patty's Day. 🙃
Early 90's Alt Rock at it's best... not that great in 2024. 😆 Still giving it 2 stars as it's better then a lot of the crap on this list.
Not bad... wasn't anything revolutionary.
Not my jam.
Great album.
Absolutely amazing album!
Great Album! Almost every song on it is a hit!
Really good Album.
Not terrible, but no thanks. Classic "How is this a top 1001?" Album.
Meh. I didn't get through this album.
Couldn't find this on Spotify so forced me to listen on Youtube. I started reading the comments & got intrigued. Impressive that this was released in 2006 by a 24 YO. Very unique sound & style for the time. Each song blends into one another, so not very dynamic there, but overall a good listen if you want to hear something different.
Great album. I'm not even a huge Stones fan, but this is a really easy album to get into.
Pretty good for new noise...
I stopped listening at track 3... woof
Starts strong, gets a little boring in the middle & ends on a high note! Overall good album.
Really good non English album.
I ordered this vinyl within the first three songs... didn't even see Piece of My Heart up next. Great album!
2 stars
Good, but not amazing. Two chart toppers & a couple of good B-Sides, that's about it.
