Very cool album. Solid start to finish. Jimi was a guitar and rock stud!

Had never heard of him but now understand why on this list. Godfather of soul. Awesome raspy voice. Recognized quite a few songs. Another great one lost way too young. Definitely influenced many after him. 3

Nic classic jazz album. Definitely one to listen to again. Upbeat grooves with a great tenor sax and guitar.

Solid album by Beck. Enjoyed his laid back somewhat “country” sounding groove. Will add this to my chill rotation.

Good representation of the funk genre. Fun, puts a bounce in your step and a smile on your face. Love he horns mixed with the bass rhythm.

I wasn’t looking forward to this album when I saw it pop up, but boy was I wrong! Soul (is it really,apple?) hasn’t been a genre I’ve really enjoyed much before, and I’m not sure what Kiwanuka does is really Soul but I like it. Bluesy, Jazzy, r&b, 70s groove? His music is smooth, but there is an edge and a drive in some of it than I would expect with this type of music. His voice is smooth and the music is haunting at times. This is one that sent me on a dive to find more of his music and more about him. This album and all of his albums will be in my rotation now!

They are one of the greatest bands of all time for a reason. So much talent represented in this band. Many of the songs were familiar, although this is the first time I’ve listened to the album start to finish. Seems a good representation of what I know about them. Poppy British rock that stands the test of time with catchy tunes and lyrics. It’s art for sure.

Another new artist for me. Reggae isn’t my normal jam, but I can enjoy it. This had me thinking of a warm beach and in a chill mood. Appreciated the rhythm and melodies.

Cool 80s music and hat somehow I was not familiar with. Liked the sound. I will be listening to this again. Favorited a couple songs.

This was a mixed bag for me. On one hand it’s obvious she has a great voice, but on other hand I felt like she was trying to hard to prove it for half the album. A few solid songs which saves me from giving it 2 stars. Plus she had a hand in writing most of the songs which is impressive compared to many others in the pop genre.

Eminem at his best. It’s a good listen to know the artist and what made him an icon. He’s one of the best singers this type of free flowing lyricism and combining catchy tunes and beat.

Classic Depeche Mode is always good. First time listening to the entire album. Solid, but not my fave from DM, Violator probably holds that spot for me. This one felt more stripped down, maybe less dark?

This was not pleasant. I didn’t really find anything I liked about this album. It he emo vibe was strong here.

Good stuff! Can’t believe I didn’t hear them when they came out. This is why I do this project. Discovered a cool band. Starred a couple songs and the album. Some songs sound like Nirvana, others straight out of the 60s.

Not my favorite. Reminds me of the adult contemporary station the cool dads listened to in the 80s. A little jazzy and some good musicians but just not my sound.
