1001 Albums Summary

I was actually surprised. I haven't really listened to much Kanye, and I can hear the merit...I'll also say that this guy can't sing. He's like a Bob Dylan. Can write, can arrange, can't hold a tune but some people love him...

Oh! I really enjoyed this... Also realized that he wrote one of my favorite songs on the Amandala! soundtrack. The kids didn't even complain.

The Talking Heads are weirdly delicious. I like a lot of their songs, but haven't really put them into my rotation...that might change now!

This was not my jam today. I don't mind Blur in general, but turned this album off just a few songs in.

A good chillaxing album. Pretty standard Indie rock.

I like the Who. I didn't get to listen to the whole album (my daughter switched it to Katie Perry, what can I say), but it was solid classic rock.

Gotta love the Boss. I once camped out with a friend to get tickets to his concert and wasn't even going to go... Listening to him always takes me back!

I mean...I like it. It's really good--these are obviously incredibly talented musicians. I find myself easily distracted, however, which means it's good background music...?

90s flashbacks!! It was good for the memories...

I mean, how can you not love Little Richard? He's amazing. If you need a pick-me-up, here's your album.

The growl + the blues + the occasional weirdness just does it for me. The basic drum + guitar are simple, but feel fresh.

Generic. Bah.

Neither continuous frenetic jazz nor 20-minute songs will ever be my thing. That being said, there's talented musicians here.

This feels VERY 90S. This is both a good thing and a bad thing.

Not my jam... It was funny to hear what everybody parodies, though.

Can't go wrong with the Rolling Stones! I do enjoy their bluesyness.

I hadn't even heard of these guys but really liked this album. It's interesting how it grew in popularity over time.

I liked selected songs...bluegrass and the blues are awesome, but this is a long-ass album. Obviously talented musicians!

I've never heard of these guys, but dig it. Some good, some not great.

I actually didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. Not a lot of range and the best ones were on the radio ad nauseum already.

LOVE. This is the best of hip-hop...can't not dance!

Meeeeatloaffffff. That guy can sing, but there's only so much meatloaf I can deal with in one sitting.

Nostalgia is the best sauce but this is still a solid album.

I mean...it's Elton John! I feel like a few of the ballads are odd choices for subject matter...didn't age too well.

I'm really liking this album...granted, I'm working so it's background music at this point. I'll have to sit down and soak up the content at another time.

Solid punk. Unfortunately, I can't do more than 2 punk songs in a row before I start getting annoyed.

I do not like Jack White by himself, but it's great when he's tempered by others (White Stripes, Raconteurs).

I like Leonard Cohen but I wasn't feeling half these songs.

I like Bjork, but I like her in small doses.

I know people love sonic youth, but they sound much the same to me... Like monotone.

I know this had a huge impact on many genres and hip-hop/rap as social commentary. It's just a lot all in a row!

This has ALWAYS been one of my top 10 favorite albums!

Hendrix is amazing, obv. But this album is a bit much for me, personally.
