Dark, Gruesome, intense. As far as debut albums go, nothing comes close.
You know, he single handedly created WOMAD ?
Something for the grandkids to remember him by. All 90 of em...
Song 6 - I've heard just about enough, I can't stomach much more I'm out
Oh-lay-heeeee
Sums this generation up when absolute cack like this is recognised in the charts.
Neo-Glam gone wrong, not fit to lace Bolans shoes 2.5 at best
You cant make it in a top 1001 albums of all time with a band name like that, simply not on
Motowns finest
Singles band - bang average album
Era defining band, vietnamese war music personified 3.5 / 5
If CM Punk was a band this would be it
Suspiciously sound really like hair blair bunch...
The dutch know what they are doing The kinks cover was a special touch 3.5 / 5
First 5 of the campaign A masterpiece in it's own right Does leave me slightly worried what would be today's answer if war was to break out, no doubt Coldplay or Taylor swift would be all over it.
Had a gorgeous set of pipes on him, god rest his soul Knew how handle his guitar aswell, the riff on dream brother is sublime Could have told me that Jeff Buckley was a championship winger in the 2010s, who's now seeing out his career in the A league with Perth Glory this morning, and I would of believed it 3.5 / 5
Thank you Polly Jean - we all know Cave is at his best when he is grieving and his raw emotions are on display It's an album I surprisingly very rarely revisit in Caves Arsenal but most certainly one of his most influential records to date 4.5 / 5
Feel like this albums gone under the radar - some great tracks, but in a nutshell you take one look at that album cover and band name and instantly skip Maybe these were the inspiration behind esteemed British Rapper Afghan Dan...
Is this the soundtrack to better call saul... Every song fits perfectly into a scene where Jimmy and Kim are mustering up a devious plan to destroy Howard 2.5 / 5
Prime metallica - pure aggression start to finish 4.5 / 5
The baby beatles Jeff Lynne is an absolute genius, would've loved to have been a fly on the wall inside the chalet deep in the swiss alps for them 3 and a half intesne weeks, watching this masterpiece unfold 4.5 / 5
Superb record, as expected when Johnny Marr is somewhat involved 3.5 / 5
There is certainly a feel of an American bias in this list, I bet some corkers have missed the cut in place of shite like this
Bet the instrumentals on the 2nd song still haunt OJ Simpson to this day. Sensational record, even if it is just a bunch of unused material mixed together.
Gü Side A and B are faultless Side C and D slightly bring it down on the whole 4/5
They don't make them like Tina anymore that's for sure, the queen of rock and roll.
What an era the 60s was Feels like a classic folk album then takes an eerie turn into psychadellia with "magic hallow" & "the wolf of velvet fortune" 3.5 / 5
Pioneers for the 60s psychadellic scene Exquisite record 4/5
Without the Beastie Boys, there's no Slim Shady, RATM, Limp Bizkit
Think the 19 year old mistress may of had a big part to play in that one Muddy...
Underrated band, can hear the Dylan influence in the frontmans vocals and the instrumental solos are magnificent
Sounds like music you'd hear in a lift, not terrible but very forgettable
T'was alright, slightly bland, doubt I'd return at any stage Andy's babies was a great track mind you 2.5 / 5
Pure rock n roll, this is prime Jagger and Richards partnership, possibly there greatest ever work 5/5
Game changer. Revolutionary. Simply staggering. Harrisons sitar solos are mesmerising
Big fan of blur but do favour a couple of their other albums to this one Still a brilliant record nonetheless, masterminded in the secluded corners of Reykjavik
Too Jazzy? 2.5 / 5
Seem to be giving a lot of 5s out recently but that's the nature of the beast I can't not give this masterpiece full marks, most certainly goes down as one of my favourite ever records Atmospheric eerie vocals, gothic instrumentals, probably top of my hitlist to see live
Funky
Proper end of season montage music
Incredible hooks, punk meets grunge Swear every American woman in a late 80s / early 90s rock band is called Kim, great vocalist gives some of the tracks an edge
This is Cave at his Lyrical peak in my opinion. Song of Joy, Stagger Lee, Crow Jane, O'Malleys bar. Storytelling at its absolute finest.
Easy listen, enjoyed his blues tracks 3.5 / 5
OH MY GOD IT'S STING! STINGERS HERE THE VIGILANTE
Way ahead of it's time, David Byrne and Brian Eno are simply exceptional Favourite track is overload, it has that dark and hypnotic Ian Curtis feel with it, almost impossible to believe they recorded this without listening to JD before I feel I could be doing an ELO - Out of the Blue all over again and I may regret not going full marks 4.5 / 5
She is the absolute spitting image of Shirley from Eastenders, if the American's ever do a remake, I vote her
Stick to the weather
I can see where they got the band name from with that first song Would probably rather watch a tortoise race than listen to this album again...
An absolute classic, old skwl rap at its best Of course reading through the comments some people are offended by the lyrics, bore off
Finners Tench in his element
Pleasantly surprised, get glimpses of early Radiohead, quite enjoyed Would make a great darts name aswell Grant "The Buffalo" Lee 3.5 / 5
The modfathers side project, never appreciated Style Council enough but this album is great, has a European esque to it with a couple of twists 3.5 / 5
You're in the jungle baby You're gonna dieeee
Smooth vocalist, lovely slice of the Chicago jazz scene on display
Raw, Energetic, Ferocious, everything a rap record should be
Doesn't do much for me, not bad for background noise that about it
Third live album this week, someone's taking the right royal piss
Meh
Nigerian Funk Jazz Charismatic
The first of the Brian Eno Trilogy Only properly heard Remain in light and 77' before but this is right up there with them in my opinion
The man himself, Eno is an absolute genius Atmospheric. Has a weird psychadellic feel to it at times. 3.5 / 5
A classic
