Mar 06 2024

That was dope. Very easy to listen to. Had listened to a lot of the tracks before but never as an album.

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Mar 13 2024

Great album. Very easy to listen to for me.

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Mar 27 2024

I can appreciate the rhythm and beats, but the album was too repetitive for me. I'm happy to have heard it.

Mar 28 2024

Had to muscle through it. My friend has been obsessed with Waits since we were in our early 20s, so I've heard it all before. I'm a fan of him as an artist, but it's hard to get into his music sober, for me at least. I also remember finding out he was wasn't a drunk irl and being disappointed. I was young. Now I find that cool.

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Mar 29 2024

I liked a few tracks a good amount, specifically track 2 (Dance Kalinda Ba Doom). Not something I would listen to every night, but something I could get into every once in a while.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Mar 30 2024

I've not listened to too much Joni Mitchell in the past, but her music still sounds familiar. Great album, I feel it's one I need to listen to more to really appreciate it. I'd like to revisit this album again soon.

John Prine by John Prine
Mar 31 2024

I was initially not really enjoying it but at about the 4th song I started thinking hmm, this is all still super relevant. "Your flag won't get you into heaven anymore".

25 by Adele
Apr 01 2024

Lovely.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Apr 02 2024

The album was chill and melodic. Pleasant the entire album, more than that in parts.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Apr 03 2024

I accidently listened to the first disc of the "Deluxe" version of Introducing, so I heard some longer cuts. I thought the album was dope. Something I wouldn't mind listening to on a chill day at home. Loved it.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Apr 04 2024

Hit after hit. "Don't Panic" specifically is a song I still play once in a while, it's so beautiful. Great album.

High Violet by The National
Apr 05 2024

I believe I liked the second half of the album more than the first...unless the sound just took a little to grow on me...I'll have to listen again. I would have to say parts reminded me of some of the Father John Misty stuff I've heard. Not a bad thing.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Apr 06 2024

I've always considered "Time After Time" one of my favorite songs of all time. Oddly I'd never thought to listen to the album it was on. Of course some of the songs were very familiar to me, having been alive in the late 80s...albeit very young. I have to add that I appreciated the synthesizer sounds this album puts out, they felt magical here and there, like they do.

Apr 07 2024

I don't really know where this album ranks among other super famous/celebrated albums. It's not up there for me. The lyrics didn't resonate a whole lot and it's a pace wasn't something I was able to get in sync with. To conclude, none of my favorite Elton John songs are on this album, and I have a few.

Copper Blue by Sugar
Apr 08 2024

I'd never heard of this band or any of their songs really, though it sounded so 90's familiar. The songs felt polished but they didn't pop for me. Good music, but none of the songs stuck with me. I never got that interested.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Apr 09 2024

That was not the experience I was expecting from a prince album. Prince was about 29 when this album was put out. The album was a bit of grind to be honest, but with moments of flare. I hit the Spotify "like" button on one of the tracks "Strange Relationship". Nice deep cut to have in the back pocket.

Let It Be by The Replacements
Apr 10 2024

I'd only ever heard of "The Replacements", it's good to now know some of their music. So much music that came after these guys sounds like these guys.

Superfuzz Bigmuff by Mudhoney
Apr 11 2024

First thought was that the album did not sound 80s. Definitely ahead of their time.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Apr 12 2024

Honestly not what I expected. I really only knew Meat Loaf from "I'll do anything for love". It was a little circus(y) sounding but honestly not bad. Few songs but only 7 tracks. For some reason I was expecting a 2 hour album. I guess I had Meal Loaf wrong. Not bad. First half of album was more fun. Then it got sad and self loathing and not so good. Then some disco which was nice. Then it got sad again and fizzled out. I'm give the album 1 and a quart thumbs up. Out of 3 thumbs. Spotify kept wanting to switch over to the Rolling Stones. Kind of asking "Hey, isn't this better? What are you doing?". Anyway, pretty decent album. Better than I thought Meat Loaf would be.

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Apr 13 2024

I don't know if there has been a better song writer than Elliott Smith.

Is This It by The Strokes
Apr 14 2024

One of the more influential albums of my lifetime. This one changed everything for me.

Timeless by Goldie
Apr 15 2024

There were some really nice melodies on this album.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Apr 16 2024

I expected words for some reason. I won't hold that against the album. Interesting for sure. I would never complain about it being on, let's say that much.

Synchronicity by The Police
Apr 17 2024

I just don't like Sting's voice. The music can be fine. I think there are some quality tracks on this album, but they just ain't for me.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Apr 18 2024

Nick Drake helped me define my definition of what's "Cool". He set a standard for what artistry could be.

Apr 19 2024

This album didn't have a whole lot for me. I'd never heard of these guys. This came out while I was a senior in high school I think. I'd of not liked it back then.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Apr 20 2024

I remember thinking this stuff was so lame in high school. I still do, but maybe a little less?

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Apr 21 2024

Not really for me. I did really enjoy the track "Hero" though.

Permission to Land by The Darkness
Apr 22 2024

I really enjoyed the album. I wish I could give this a 3 1/2. I was familiar with this bands radio hits, but never listened to an album. Great rock band. A lot of fun.

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Apr 23 2024

Perfect album. I remember buying my first set of high quality speakers and playing this album first to test them out. I was in love.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Apr 25 2024

There were parts of the album I would randomly love, the music was also technically very impressive. For me though, it was just to hard on the ears. I'm not the right audience.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Apr 27 2024

I feel weird giving this a 2 because the album is obviously so good. And there are more than a few songs I really like. But it’s long. Corgan said he aimed the album at people 14 to 24, and I felt that. The album was so long I almost quit this 1001 albums thing because I finally listened to the whole thing after many months of failed attempts. It’s like 2 hours of music.

Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel
Apr 29 2024

I almost liked a couple of the songs on this album.

Parklife by Blur
Apr 30 2024

Not what I expected at all from a "Blur" album. I really enjoyed the album.

A Little Deeper by Ms. Dynamite
Sep 11 2025

This album feels a little dated, which makes sense. There were parts that still felt good but a bit too much felt dry. Still you see you the skill.

Come Find Yourself by Fun Lovin' Criminals
Oct 04 2025

I really enjoyed the "Dick Cheney" reference. "Crime and Punishment" impressed me. Chill album that goes hard in parts. Real drums add a lot.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Oct 05 2025

Not bad.

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
Oct 06 2025

Had a friend obsessed with this album when we were younger. I remember finding out that Tom Waits wasn't a real drunk and being disappointed. Anyway, there are some killer songs on the album. Waits can write really good music and sometimes performs it ok. Other times he sounds like a vomiting dog but it still works ok.

Home Is Where The Music Is by Hugh Masekela
Oct 07 2025

Great album. Really enjoyed the keys throughout it. South African Jazz, alright.

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
Oct 08 2025

Although I found the album technically very interesting, musically it did not come together for me at all. Had fun reading about Jah Wobble though.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Oct 09 2025

Great sounds on this album with some standout songs that really hit.

Oct 10 2025

Really impressive sounds. The synth on a few songs hit hard. That's enough for me to swoon. Well done, Jamiroquai!

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Oct 11 2025

This album is just so easy to listen to. It can almost carry you.

The Who Sell Out by The Who
Oct 13 2025

Happy I got to familiarize myself with this one. A fairly early concept album with some great tracks. Make sure you read the wiki before listening to better understand what the group was doing.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Oct 14 2025

Most of the songs on this album don't fully click for me. If I just could have been in the studio with them governing the mix, I think some of these songs would have been homeruns.

Slayed? by Slade
Oct 17 2025

Just not for me. They seem like a good live band though.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Oct 18 2025

I guess I'm a new Fiona Apple fan. A little late to the game. Always figured she was good, just based on the way people spoke and wrote of her. Having experienced her myself? I love the jazzy piano and voice parts. When the drums aren't driving the song.

Oct 20 2025

This album holds up really well. Some of the diss tracks go hard.

The Predator by Ice Cube
Oct 22 2025

Hadn't heard this album since elementary school. Still hits good.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Oct 23 2025

The album felt much more recent than it really is.

So Much For The City by The Thrills
Oct 24 2025

This album produced some catchy moments, but the songs didn't click for me.

Bert Jansch by Bert Jansch
Oct 26 2025

Excellent. Really enjoyed the guitar.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Oct 28 2025

Not bad to have on in the background.
