1001 Albums Summary

So many of these songs I could not decide if I did or did not like. One I definitely loved was Perfect Day. I somehow escaped ever hearing the entirety of Walk on the Wild Side until now (only bits and pieces) and went down an entire wiki walk afterwards. Overall, I think the vocal delivery and strange jangly feel of production really works on some songs and doesn’t on others. Some definite keepers here, but not an album I’d listen to start to finish going forward.

The standout tracks on this are absolutely incredible, but the rest dip into the bad side of repetitive - I’m sure this was fun in a club when my uncle was a DJ in the late 90s/early aughts, but sober in my living room it’s a bit of a headache. Will absolutely go back to the best tracks more often now that I’ve been reminded.

I can’t say there’s NEVER been a good 20+ minute track. But…

At one point, I was thinking I wished I could give a 2.5 because the music itself was delight - but man, those lyrics.
