25 by Adele

This had the "Adele" problem. Meaning the first two songs were bangers and then I wanted to take a nap. Still, she's Adele and Iove her.

In Utero by Nirvana
Apr 23 2025

Please for the love of God don't make me listen to milk it ever again. 1/5 stars

Sea Change by Beck
Apr 25 2025

This is the most 2002 of albums. Any one of these songs could have been plopped into garden state. At first I felt like, hey, I can dig this sad sad droning. But then...it kept going...and going. It was relentless drone.

The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
Apr 28 2025

This was cool. Nico's whole deal always makes me feel like I'm in an episode of SNL, but regardless, it was an interesting album and I'm glad it exists. Will I turn it on again? Probably not.

Queen II by Queen
Apr 29 2025

Objectively cool, not something I want to hear again, like really all of Queen. But, cooler than I anticipated.

Opus Dei by Laibach
Apr 30 2025

It feels unfair to rate this because it very clearly is not my favorite genre and frankly sort of scares me to listen to. Having said that, there were some cool 80s beats and synth things happening and I liked that. I'm glad it's over and I don't have to feel this uncomfortable anymore.

May 01 2025

I liked this album for like 2 songs and then I was annoyed. I can't really verbalize why but I was just over it.

Horses by Patti Smith
May 05 2025

I wanted so badly to like this. It honestly was like nails on a chalkboard for more than half the album. It's a no for me dog. One extra star bc the album cover kicks ass.

Harvest by Neil Young
May 06 2025

I love this album; harvest is one of my favorite songs. 4 stars only because there are a couple of tracks I find myself routinely skipping over.

...The Dandy Warhols Come Down by The Dandy Warhols
May 08 2025

Just gonna go ahead and sit down with a vitamin water and watch the oc like it's 2005 and really lean into this album. I like it. I probably won't relisten.

The Band by The Band
May 12 2025

Honestly...just expected more. Some bangers on here, but the album as a whole is just not great.

Raw Like Sushi by Neneh Cherry
May 14 2025

Dug some of this, and some of it was corny as hell

Station To Station by David Bowie
May 15 2025

Into it. Love a good 38 minute edit. Never heard TVC15 before but I'll be revisiting. Some of this was a little much (eg. 2 minute lead into song 1), hence the 1 star off

21 by Adele
May 16 2025

Adele is a queen and this is her reigning album. There were some misses for me, so not a perfect album. But I just love me some Adele.

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
May 19 2025

I've come to accept over time that Jimi Hendrix is not really my thing. Like I'm not gonna turn this on for funsies. But you gotta respect the shred. I can't give this less than 4 stars but I will definitely not turn it on again.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
May 20 2025

Was not looking forward to listening given how recently we listened to cash. Boy am j happy I did. Listened twice. Perfect. Highlights included "went the wrong way in Pleura with Juanita on my lap" and San Quentin twice in a row. Totally kicked ass.

Sex Packets by Digital Underground
May 21 2025

I can sorta dig... Could have used some editing with these 6 minute songs

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
May 28 2025

This was good. Just maybe a little too much bongo for this girl.

Greetings From L.A. by Tim Buckley
May 29 2025

One of the strongest opening lyrics of any album: "I went down to the meat rack tavern And found myself a big ol' healthy girl" It was all downhill from there. Found myself actually laughing out loud by sweet surrender. Really terrible with the exception of track 1, which was awesome.

So by Peter Gabriel
Jun 03 2025

Holy Velveeta was this cheesy. 2 stars because sledgehammer kicks ass.

Fragile by Yes
Jun 09 2025

Back half of this album was much better than the front half, mostly bc they kept their mouths shut and just played their instruments. 2.5 stars. Will not listen again willfully.

25 by Adele
Jun 10 2025

This had the "Adele" problem. Meaning the first two songs were bangers and then I wanted to take a nap. Still, she's Adele and Iove her.

Highly Evolved by The Vines
Jun 11 2025

This is a 3.5er for me, and a pleasant surprise. It felt like any of these songs could have been on the OC soundtrack and generally I'm here for it

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Jun 12 2025

Slightly better than the other albums I've heard from Morrissey. Still endless droning.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

Didn't know the beach boys had an environmentalist/political album. Here it is. It is...a lot. Highlight included student demonstration time, which felt like a Beatles song. This album made me feel weird.

xx by The xx
Jun 16 2025

Fine.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Jun 24 2025

One of my faves. A 4.5 because some of the songs (e.g. perfect, forgiven) kinda suck. Otherwise a real banger. "You took a long hard look at my ass And then played golf for a while". Yes.

Jun 26 2025

Baby making jams. This is a vibe. Til the cops come in feels borderline problematic?

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Jun 27 2025

This is the most 90s album. I do not need to listen again but it was fine.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jun 30 2025

I love this elevator music

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jul 02 2025

Strong front half, bad back half

C'est Chic by CHIC
Nov 20 2025

This was alright. I won't listen again but I can't hate on le freak.

Fuzzy by Grant Lee Buffalo
Nov 21 2025

This felt like a real slog.

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Nov 24 2025

I can dig it

The Sun Rises In The East by Jeru The Damaja
Nov 26 2025

This felt like a run of the mill 90s rap album. Didn't hate, didn't love. Won't listen again but I didn't find myself wanting to turn it off, either.

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Nov 27 2025

More morrissey, more whining

Dec 01 2025

Iiiiim morriseeeey and my girlfriend is in a comaaaa; I'm saaaaad and I can't fiiiiind a friiiiiend Make. It. Stop.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Dec 02 2025

I can dig it. Can't believe I went this long without knowing cruella de ville was a rip off (song #2)

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Dec 03 2025

Solid background music. Very early 2000s in a nostalgic way.
