Be-In - A slow start, but it was solid, with a killer synth part in the middle. 7.5/10
Boys Better- It's a cool guitar riff, but the drone noise at the start was so blatantly obnoxious that I am knocking it to a 6/10
Minnesoter- it was a quirky little song that was fun to listen to. 8/10
Orange- it is way calmer in comparison to the previous three tracks, but it maintains a certain edge throughout that is both entrancing and a bit off-putting. 8.5/10
I Love You - asmr for lonely people, it's kind of corny in a bad way 5/10
Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth- I guess it was intresting but herorin is pasae so it doesnt matter 7.7/10
Every Day Should Be A Holiday - absolute banger for real 8/10
Good Morning - its a decent track so thats kind of drags the sentiment forward 7.8/10
Whipping Tree
Green - a calm little track that i enjoyed a lot 8/10
Cool As Kim Deal - honestly a forgetable track and all that but its cool 7/10
Hard On For Jesus - funny name brings it up by a point other than that its kind of okay 7.4/10
Pete International Airport - really really boring but thats fin it is the definition of mid though 6/10
The Creep Out - 8 great end instrumental track
quite a pleasent listen was nothing too crazy but i still enjoyed listening to it
Even though the album gets overshadowed by Superstition, I think Stevie's performance and charisma on this album were quite refreshing in contrast to other things I've been listening to.
I don't even know what I heard. I think I'm going crazy now 7/10
Talkin' Bout a Revolution - 10/10, one of the most impactful songs I think I've heard at this time, and it's something i grew up listening to.
Fast Car - 10/10 Fast Car is soooo good. I think this alone can make this album a 10
Across the Lines - 8.5/10, all of the songs on this album are quite sad, but regardless, they have an amazing groove.
Behind the Wall - 10/10, it's not a song that I would put on a playlist, but it's a very touching song, and something I can personally relate to
Baby, Can I Hold You - 8/10, not for me, but I can appreciate the sentiment.
Mountains O' Things - 9/10 the instrumental aids the lyrics, but doesn't cause it to overwhelm the rest of the track.
She's Got Her Ticket - I think she's gonna use her ticket maybe 8/10
Why? - Why is an amazing song that addresses the problems of her time, yet is still relevant today. 9/10
For My Lover - one of the songs that I expected not to enjoy as much, but to my pleasant surprise, I think this song is overshadowed by other songs on this amazing album, 9/10
If Not Now... - I don't know when, but I do know that this song is a banger ( not really, but it's still really good), 8.5/10
For You - a very sentimental end to this album 8/10
OVERALL
9.5/10
It had the highest highs but a lot of the lowest lows
Note to self don't take morphine and rat poisoning. 7/10 fun concept album but just not my favorite type of music. I can see why one would like this album though
very influential album and though some of the songs aren't bangers i really loved this project (though i just like public enemy as a whole)
I don't think this is my type of concept album, this feels like a musical that got unfiltered access to illicit drugs 5/10 i can see the appeal its just not for me
Imma grade this as two separate albums because why not
SPEAKERBOXXX - 10/10
an absolute heater of an album i was reading some reviews of this album on here and I kind of feel like some of y'all just don't like music that is different from the genres you normally listen to (which is confusing because you would think with something like this people would be more accepting of things that are different) or just don't like rap because in your head all you hear is guns, drugs, and "bitches" (even though majority of the rap albums on here have been about overcoming racial adversity and fighting against oppressors and we can't act like other genres don't obsess on materialistic things, it just seems like its all good till its a black person doing it and then there is a problem.)
Anyway this is an amazing record it has one of my favorite Out Kast songs in "The Way You Move" on it so i guess I'm biased.
The Love Below - 9/10
Not much to say the middle of this album is just jammed with bangers (Prototype->She's in my lap->Hey Ya!->Roses)
It was just ok nothing to write home about 5/10
Simz is my favorite modern-day female rapper; every project that she puts out is heat.
I don't the album was bad persay but it wasn my favorite
I really enjoyed the very unique soundscapes provided by this album, especially since I kind of expected this to be not that good, it surpassed my expectations and was actually a nice listen
7.5/10
everytime she sang I thought it was going to switch to christmas music
I dont really love her voice but the album was decent 6/10
