Poetic and beautiful. This is the reason I signed up for this challenge. To find stuff I would never have listened to otherwise.

I can see all the ways this influenced later albums by countless different artists, making it still sounds timeless

Features, production and samples are great but I can’t get over the cringey lyrics. If Kanye had any sense of humility or humour I might be able to understand but he doesn’t. If I wanted to listen to a ‘my beautiful dark twisted fantasy’ type album I’d listen to pusha t or Freddie gibbs album

Good stuff

This was my first time listening to this and I loved it, jazzy and insightful

It’s hard to rank this because I’m not familiar with the genre, but it does feel overproduced and maximalist which is a bit overwhelming

He brought rock and roll to masses, but there were contemporaries who did it better and had more originality than Elvis

Didn’t mind it but nothing really stood out for me

Some iconic songs and iconic sounds but songs like ‘tread on me’ are so cringe and proves how much Metallica sells out. I like my music to prioritise art of capital
