1001 Albums Summary

Not for me. Too harsh. Didn’t get much from the lyrics. Seems important in the evolution of music, but I didn’t enjoy listening.

Yeah pretty good. Didn’t love it, but didn’t hate it.

Liked it as a hype playlist, some cool guitar stuff. Wouldn’t put it on unless I wanted a very specific or ironic vibe probably

This was actually really good. The fact it was a live album was awesome. Huey Lewis on the harmonica? I would listen to this again. Might print a photo of them and put it on my wall. Can’t listen to it all the time, but it’s good

Glad I listened to this! Not sure it’s my favorite but interesting to see this version of The Beach Boys. More politically focused. Cool.

Meh. Tbh I didn’t listen to the whole thing. Had some folk-y things I liked; the lyrics I didn’t love.

I see how this guy was probably important, but to me he was like a worse Radiohead. Maybe he walked so they could run. The last song on this album was ok

Yeah pretty good. Too bad I listened to Thin Lizzy first—I think they have more action and drive. However, if I was listening to this on a boat or in a sick car or on a dope motorcycle, I wouldn’t complain.

Nah. A couple good songs, but I’m not an Elton John fan. Why does he keep talking about his sister looking good and 16-year-olds? Don’t doubt this was a big album when it came out, but it’s not for me.

I liked it! Didn't love his voice all the time, and it had some cacophony endings that I dislike most of the time. That said, I had already had one song on this album saved in my liked songs on Spotify, so I think that's saying something.

I liked it. Fun sound. Some pretty funny lyrics (you can’t sleep walk if you don’t sleep). Kind of prog rock.

I liked it, had some cool beats and some recognizable songs. Some challenging lyrics which I liked too. Probably won’t listen again h unless I’m showing somebody else.

I liked the soft growl in the singer’s voice. I thought the guitar was intriguing, and it had a twang to it that i liked. The lyrics felt good ona a first pass. Would listen again.

I mean, is there anything to say? It’s the Eagles. I didn’t know every song on this album (and I’m not sure I’d listen to all of them), but for me, it can’t get any better.

Really like this actually. Some of the songs made me laugh. I like the harmonica. His voice is funny sounding, but that’s ok. The vibe of the songs put me at ease.

I mean, it’s just fantástico. Felt like I heard Vienna in a whole new way. Glad I listened to the hole album, there were some songs I had never heard before. Made me think of Vincenzo.

Eh—it was ok. I respect that it probably was luminary. The cereal song was funny. Some of the samples seemed ahead of their time. But prob won’t listen again.

Again, I appreciate what these bands are doing. Pushing the envelope, responding to their own creativity. It’s just not good to listen to dude. This is memorable and deserves a 2 instead of. 1 just because it’s called space rock and I got 1-2 chuckles out of the songs.

Ehhhhh harsh again! I just can’t take it. In another life/time maybe I’d like it. But right now, wouldn’t seek out listening to this again. I like a melody. Sue me.

Pretty good. Couldn’t stop thinking of Rent—the main guy’s voice would be perfect for a rock opera.

Feels more like a 4.5, but it deserves a high score regardless. This one is probably timeless.

Yeah I mean it was good. I can’t really appreciate it for what it is though; to me it just sounds like good big band music. I know there’s a specialness to it, but I don’t feel it.

I like 1.5 of the songs—pale blue eye one (Edgar Allen Poe referenced and I half-like the “if you close the door”… song bc they sing it in that Florence Pugh movie. The rest of the songs were ok
