1001 Albums Summary

Not the biggest fan of early hip-hop but I liked that they had several unique sounds throughout the album both with singing and instrumental changes

Really good album with a lot of statements about America that still feel relevant today. No song is too long or feels drawn out. Nice succinct album with a lot to say

Album definitely gets you feeling a certain type of way. Nick Drake is talented, but seldom am I going for such a melancholy vibe

First album with Mike Garson on keys. He has huge discord solo in Aladdin sane song, an antiwar song.

Admittedly, didn’t listen to every song. Very in line with the times and British post punk comes through. Not my cup of tea, but not bad

This does have an old crooner sound for such a new album in the 2000s. I really like Richard’s vocals and his calming but powerful music. Still doesn’t hit the 5 star mark I may reserve for someone like Sinatra, but enjoyable album

By the end of the 22 minute album you can basically visualize how much he must be sweating. Not the deepest of music but certainly entertaining and a fun listen. At that length, can’t complain

An iconic band, the harmonies in their slower ballads and harder rocking songs never get old

Dolly and Linda have some of the best vocals of all time. While I’m not much of a country fan overall, or a female, can’t deny the power of the harmonies and it is quite folksy. A few great ballads on this album

Yeah not for me. I’m sure it was big for empowered women of the time but doesn’t have much re-listen ability. Entire album sounds like it should be the soundtrack to the show “Yellowjackets”

He has a great voice and I do like the music, but it’s too slow and ethereal for an entire album for my tastes. Good background working music

One of the best of all time. I love steely dan

I like jazz, but there wasn’t much variety in this album, feel like most of the songs were too similar to one another

Good listen if you’re floating through space or tripping balls
