Popular Reviews

Harvest by Neil Young

i understand why this may be good or even very special music but it just bores me to hell

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar

i cannot listen to this while doing something else, which reduces how much I can enjoy it, but this is a pretty incredible album. not my favorite from him though

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters

pretty good. some songs are really great and others a little less so but overall it's nice to listen to

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's

never heard of them before. this slaps. cheery, optimistic. album ended just as I was getting slightly tired of it, so good length as well. will definitely listen to this again

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes

very interesting album, i don't typically listen to music like this. i didn't love it but probably would enjoy it live

Bad by Michael Jackson
Apr 26 2026

mostly slaps. not too intense listening. liked it

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Apr 27 2026

never heard of them before. pretty good! groovy. would listen to this again

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Apr 29 2026

what a fantastic live album. amazing voice, great songs, incredible & unique atmosphere from the crowd. i did not expect to like this as much as i did

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Apr 30 2026

never heard of them before. this slaps. cheery, optimistic. album ended just as I was getting slightly tired of it, so good length as well. will definitely listen to this again

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
May 01 2026

hell yeah. smooth, nice, great voice. i only knew the most famous song, but the rest of the album is pretty great as well. will definitely listen to this again

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
May 02 2026

i can see why this is good music but it gets on my nerves very quickly. not for me

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson
May 04 2026

pretty nice, especially at first. didn't blow my mind though

Hms Fable by Shack
May 06 2026

i can listen to this, but i fail to understand what is remarkable about it

Seventh Tree by Goldfrapp
May 07 2026

could not listen to this for the life of me. gets on my nerves very fast somehow

May 09 2026

i only knew a few songs from the album, but the entire thing is great. smooth flow, great beats, fun lyrics. impossible to stay in a bad mood while listening to this. wanted to listen to it again immediately once it was over

Third by Portishead
May 10 2026

i love portishead but i don't listen to this album so often. listening to it again, i remember why: i find it much harder to get lost in the music with the omnipresent voice. it's fascinating in a way, but i don't actually enjoy it all that much. hard to rate really

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
May 11 2026

it's alright.

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
May 12 2026

i cannot listen to this while doing something else, which reduces how much I can enjoy it, but this is a pretty incredible album. not my favorite from him though

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
May 13 2026

wow. i hate this. i'm actually kind of surprised by how much i hate this

Marquee Moon by Television
May 14 2026

meh. I don't really see the point

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
May 15 2026

very different from what i usually like, but this was surprisingly pleasant to listen to. either there's something special about this (the voice maybe?) or maybe i should just listen to more folk

Document by R.E.M.
May 16 2026

nice! i didn't know about this at all. listened to it twice in a day. great music, will definitely listen to it again

Real Life by Magazine
May 17 2026

constantly swinging between "oh this is kind of interesting" and "urgh this is getting on my nerves" while listening to this. overall not a great experience

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
May 18 2026

beautiful voice, touching lyrics, but i struggled with the music. i can understand why this is a special album, and i'm kind of sad that it's not really my cup of tea

Guero by Beck
May 19 2026

never heard of this, what a great discovery! i don't understand half of the lyrics but i'm vibing. listened to this twice today already, might give it a third listen. some songs are pure bangers and others are strange in a compelling sort of way. kind of reminds me of gorillaz? really loved this album, will definitely listen to this again and try the rest of his discography

Junkyard by The Birthday Party
May 20 2026

absolutely not for me. had to stop after 2.5 songs

Clandestino by Manu Chao
May 21 2026

only knew a couple of songs from this, liked them but never though of listening to the rest of the album. but the whole thing is lovely! i quite enjoyed the pace and the variety.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
May 22 2026

i don't get why radiohead is such a big thing. i guess i can listen to this, but i don't see what's special about it

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
May 24 2026

very interesting album, i don't typically listen to music like this. i didn't love it but probably would enjoy it live

Throwing Muses by Throwing Muses
May 25 2026

very strange & unusual. pretty good? probably very fun live, or when paying attention to the lyrics. wouldn't listen to it casually though

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
May 26 2026

rarely in the mood to listen to this, but it slaps

En-Tact by The Shamen
May 27 2026

super fun to listen to at first; reminded me of the stuff i used to download on napster and blast in my room as a teenager. gets old & repetitive pretty quickly though. good to put a song or two in a nostalgia playlist (even though i don't think i actually knew any of the specific songs), but i'm probably not going to listen to the entire thing again

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
May 28 2026

this is nice. i don't think i'm often in the mood for something like this, but this is still lovely music. would listen to it again

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
May 29 2026

exactly the kind of album i would likely never have discovered without this website. smooth, groovy. i'm still vibing after two consecutive listens. will definitely listen to this again

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
May 30 2026

ok i guess

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
May 31 2026

started off strong, but i got bored of his voice very quickly

I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
Jun 01 2026

this is the album that convinced me to send a few coins to this website's maintainer. i vaguely heard about leonard cohen before but did not expect to like his music as much as i did. incredible voice, groovy tunes, wonderful lyrics. fuck yes give me more of this

Jun 02 2026

this style of rock is probably never going to be my absolute favorite thing, but as far as it goes, i like it a lot more than other albums in a similar genre. will probably listen to it again at some point

Being There by Wilco
Jun 03 2026

very much not for me

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Jun 04 2026

second album by this band in a few weeks. i was pleasantly surprised by the first (unhalfbricking), which i liked even though folk isn't usually my thing. i liked this one much less somehow. not sure why?

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Jun 06 2026

hell yeah. great voice. great vibes. not mind-blowing but definitely very good. will definitely listen to this again

Scum by Napalm Death
Jun 07 2026

i'm sure this is culturally significant for some reason. however it is also unlistenable. when "scum" started playing i was like "oh at least this is an ok guitar riff" but then the guy started growling again and that's when i stopped

Jun 08 2026

i don't like the beatles at all and don't understand why so many people love them. this album was actually better than expected, or maybe my tastes have changed so i dislike them less than i used to for some reason. still not something i would want to listen to regularly though

Green by R.E.M.
Jun 09 2026

i rated document, another album from the same band (which i didn't know prior to this website) with 5 stars so i was pretty excited to discover this one. sadly i liked it a lot less. it was alright but didn't really click nor made me want to listen to it again

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Jun 12 2026

forgot all about it the minute it was over. only fun thing about it was taking a look at the music video of the last song in the album, and seeing that the audience looks just as bored as i was while listening to this

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jun 13 2026

i listened to a bunch of stuff he produced or was a part of but never to a solo album (if you can call it that) of his. very glad this website corrected this oversight; i was stressed this morning because of work stuff, and snoop's smooth flow helped me relax, then dre's angry lyrics gave me some power back. fun skits here and there, a+ beats on the entire album. damn the 90s were great for hip-hop. can't wait to see what else i've been missing

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Jun 14 2026

damn, 2004 kanye was a different dude, huh. self-introspection and political consciousness! wild. anyway pretty strong album, didn't transcend me but definitely good stuff.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Jun 15 2026

sometimes on this site i listen to a rock or punk record whose historic significance completely goes over my head. this one didn't! i rediscovered this gem and could see how mind-blowing and influential it was for the time. imagine listening to this in the 70s! but even beyond the historic aspect of this, it's incredible how well the music held up. still a fantastic album to listen to while you're driving or chilling. i should listen to this more.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Jun 16 2026

previous radiohead album left me completely indifferent. this one didn't, the instrumentals are very weird and somewhat compelling? so this album could have been a fascinating experimental electronica sound that i would have wanted to engage with. but then the guy starts singing, if you can call it that! this voice! my god! how can you people stand it! makes it all the more disappointing that the instrumentals really could be interesting in another context.

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Jun 18 2026

it's not exactly my thing, but i can see the appeal. as an aside, what a cover!

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jun 19 2026

it's never going to be my favorite thing, but i was pleasantly surprised compared to the other album i got from them a few weeks ago (abattoir blues). at least this is kind of interesting and the voice is much more tolerable

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Jun 20 2026

pretty nice! i liked this significantly more than how i normally like this sort of old school rock'n'roll. easy listening. might listen to this again

Sea Change by Beck
Jun 22 2026

i thought this was surprisingly meh considering i had absolutely loved another one of his albums (guero) when this website suggested it a few weeks ago

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Jun 23 2026

pretty good. some songs are really great and others a little less so but overall it's nice to listen to

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Jun 24 2026

really liked this at first; great instrumentals and a kind of fun voice. sadly i grew tired of it (especially the voice, but i think the style got a little bit repetitive too) after 5-6 songs

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jun 25 2026

this is such a fantastic jazz album. i knew the couple of most famous songs but i would have been entirely unable to name the band previously, and it was great to discover the rest of it. every piece in here is wonderful, and the pace of the album is perfect. will definitely listen to this again

Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Jun 26 2026

one of these albums that starts fairly strong, but quickly becomes forgettable after a few songs: interesting at first, and then the rest becomes kind of a blur. too bad

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Jun 27 2026

great album. didn't enjoy it quite as much as autobahn but still the atmosphere is phenomenal

Harvest by Neil Young
Jun 29 2026

i understand why this may be good or even very special music but it just bores me to hell

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Jun 30 2026

great album! lots of fun and energy and joy in here, and the instrumentals are excellent. i couldn't listen to this on repeat but i will probably listen to this again

Jul 01 2026

hey look, another unremarkable indie rock record. i don't dislike this, but i am a little perplexed at why this is on here

Jul 02 2026

this wasn't my thing, but at least it was original and interesting; very different from what i knew about. three stars because i wouldn't listen to this again, but i appreciated this a lot more than the many other albums i rated three stars because they were ok but forgettable

Melodrama by Lorde
Jul 03 2026

i had heard of lorde but never listened to her. i've been missing out: this is absolute fire. compelling voice, beautifully strange lyrics, instrumentals going from groovy to adequately haunting. listened to this thrice today already. will likely listen to it a lot more in the future. this is the kind of stuff that makes it worthwhile to get through however many mediocre brit pop and uninspired indie rock albums on this list

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Jul 06 2026

very nice. groovy, fun. very different from what I normally listen to. a whole mood in a good way

Moondance by Van Morrison
Jul 07 2026

not really my thing. the tunes are nice but i didn't love the voice

21 by Adele
Jul 08 2026

good music, only knew the famous songs but the entire album is worth listening to. production is impeccable and her voice really is special. felt like the album was a bit too long maybe? and some songs aren't quite on the same level as the well-known ones. still, will probably listen to this again.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Jul 09 2026

good stuff! not transcendent but i will likely listen to this again. above average for how much i enjoy rock

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Jul 10 2026

quite nice. interesting, unique voice, good instrumentals, messed-up lyrics in a good way. i like it. wouldn't listen to this in over and over again but once in a while as something different, definitely. lovely discovery

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Jul 13 2026

in the beginning i thought "meh, this is boring". it quickly became clear that actually, it's worse than boring, it actually gets on my nerves very fast. i'm sure it's important and influential and whatever but it's a very hard no from me

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Jul 14 2026

genuine surprise, i enjoyed it more than i expected; normally i really struggle with old rock. the first couple of songs didn't spark that much joy but i somehow got into it. great guitar solos. i wonder whether this website is actually changing my taste in music: maybe because it already got me a few old rock records (that i mostly was not a fan of), now it helps me appreciate the classics a bit more than before?
