Not my regular go to artist, pleasant listening but not really my taste.
One of my favorite Rolling Stones records. But the Rolling Stones are not my favorite band so 3/5
Nice live recording, but soul music is not really my style. Three stars nonetheless
Simon and Garfunkel always hit an sweet spot by me. This is probably my most favourite album, but that is subject to change over time. 4/5
Yeah Soundgarden, but the album is way too long for being an ultimate record. 4/5
Not my favourite Nirvana album (which is Bleach), but hey it is Nirvana and not Nevermind, so 4 stars
Well what can I say about this. Totally not my genre, although I had my share with growing up in de age of Def Leppard, Guns 'n Roses and Motley Crue. Bands who are influenced by Hanoi Rocks some way or the other. But this bands stands out for more being an glam icon, the music is more punk than their successors. So 3 stars.
Knights of Cydonia is one of my favourite Muse tracks, the other songs are not in the same league, some are mediocre at its best. 2/5
Music from another generation. Import era in music, but not music I really like. One extra star for the importance in the history 3/5
This is too slick for my taste. Not really an expert in this genre, but it sounds not really outstanding in comparison to similar artist/releases.
The solo output from George Harrison shows how important he was for the Beatles sound. For me the most interesting member of the Beatles, with an exception for the Wings output from Paul McCartney. 4/5
Recently I got really into the ECM catalogue and was somewhat surprised that I missed out a lot of great music for such a long time. From first listen this record breaths energy. Best solo piano live recording I've heard.
This is the first album I did listen to before it popped up in the generator.
5/5
A little bit tired of School, but in the context of this album it was nice to hear it again. Not really got into Supertramp, but this is a record I would play more often.
Yes, one of the important albums of the 90's for me. 5/5
Big Pink Floyd fan, but with most of the solo material of the members this is real below the bands standard. Be it David Gilmour, Roger Waters and in this case Syd Barrett. Records which could easily be forgotten.
The Madcap Laughs doesn't reflect at any point the importance of Syd Barrett for the early Pink Floyd. A few songs are ok, but for the most part the songs are way too short and there is not really a connection between the songs. As mentioned earlier. The legacy of Syd Barrett was his membership in early Pink Floyd, not this end of life vehicle. 2/5
This is the kind of soul/funk I like. Especially the guitar segments are fantastic. That gives this album that tiny extra, which makes this a four star affair. Or is it the sunny weather that I appreciate this music at the moment more. 4/5
This is music I will listen to on an evening just before sleep. Quite relaxing stuff. But there is happening to little to make it an outstanding record. 3/5
Oh well CCR, never understood the very American hype about CCR. Yes they have some songs which are great, but also it is not ground breaking stuff.
Hell yeah, one of the legendary hiphop albums from the 80's. A milestone in the genre and not lost any urgency. 5/5
Hmmm don't know why this is listed here. Some nice tunes, but not really an album which listen as a whole. Only the longer Looking Glass builds up to something. 2/5
Growing up in the eighties, the new wave movement didn't really catch up on me. In later years the artist of that time, such as The Cure and Joy Division got more and more into my listening habit.
Echo and The Bunnymen didn't however made really that transition and with listening to this record I think they distinguish not really from the foresaid artists. An enjoyable album, maybe I will return to them more often, but the chances are that The Cure get more attention from me. 3/5
Great album with one of my favorite Springsteen tracks Jungleland. The sound is more authentic than for example Born in the USA. 4/5
Hell yeah, the second Public Enemy album in a short time. Hard to tell if I like this one more than It takes a Nation... Another essential hiphop album 5/5
Completely overlooked this album. The first entry of this list I didn't know the band and the record. Nice surprise and I will look further in their discography.
I can't get really into the music by Adam & The Ants. All the songs sounds a like and everytime I want to scream Stand and Deliver. Not my cup of tea
Yes Frank Zappa, somehow not really an artist I listen to, but when I listen to an record I'm always intrigued by the music. Also this lovely jazz-rock album.
Yes, Kate Bush is one of my favourite artists. This album is not only for the hits an extraordinary album. The second part is just stunning 5/5
No, not for me this music.
The similarities with The Flaming Lips are obvious, but where the Lips keeps your attention and full of surprises is this album more predictable. A few nice songs, especially in the second part of the album, but also some songs that could be easily skipped. 3/5
Growing up in the 80's I heard only the hits of Cyndi Lauper now more than 40 years later I hear for the first time the album containing her greatest hits in The Netherlands, 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' & 'Time After Time'.
The other songs sounds familiair to the songs already known. So a trip to 80's synth memory lane but not one with a lot of depth or new insights. 3/5
One of the bands that were of great influence for me in the 80's metal scene. Maybe not their best album, for me that will be Countdown to Extinction, but nevertheless 5/5
Yes but not yes wow. Always felt that Yes was not really my cup of prog-rock tea. Too much emphasis on the high pitch vocals of Jon Anderson and less on structuring a good song. Also this release felt somehow disappointing. Some good passages, but also, for me, typical Yes songs which were not really engaging.
The song "I left my wallet.." was for a long time my favourite hiphop track without knowing the artists behind it. After a decennia I discovered the music of A Tribe Called Quest and still today it is one of my go to hiphop acts.
The whole album sounds a bit more of the same as the hit singles, so therefor for lack of some diversity 4/5
Ok, an album where the musicians and singer seems to play different songs. Maybe nice for a song of two, but the whole thing drags on. Sometimes there is some alignment, but those occassions are a few and afterwards I can't tell which song it was. One track stands out, the scream noise of "Don't". For that 3 out 5 stars
Surprisingly a few tracks I knew. But besides Time To Pretend and Kids the other tracks are not as consistent. Some great tracks, Future Reflections and 4th Dimensional Transition, but also some weak tracks, The Handshake for example. 3/5
Why didn't I listen to this album my whole life? A timeless record which will hopefully spin around my head for the forthcoming 45 years more often. 5/5
Music which was unavoidable when growing up. The soundtrack of the early years of going out. So a trip to memory lane. As band I lost interest in U2 after the Joshua Tree, but the albums before that are still albums I listen to occasionally with a lot of pleasure, so 4/5.
Black Sabbath, 5/5. Period.
The generator is on fire. After Black Sabbath an other lifetime favourite of mine: Peter Gabriel. Games without Frontiers and Biko are certainly the main songs of this album, but the other tracks are also extraordinary.
One of the better britpop groups. Really like this record, but overall it isn't really strong enough to get the full score. 4/5
Great guitar player, but on record this is not fully displayed. Too short songs with awful fade-outs. Only the longest track, If 6 was 9, you hear the real strength of Jimi Hendrix.
The sun is shining and the music is playing. The best setting for this music is there. So maybe my score is somewhat higher than I would normally give for this kind of records. All the songs have the same vibe, good for a song of two, but a whole album is too much for me. 3/5
Solid hits and the sound of an era . This album is amazing and one of the better commercial electronic albums within the then popular Big Beat genre (along with the Chemical Brothers Exit Planet Dust/Dig Your Own Hole). Favorite tracks: Diesel Power, Mindfields and Narayan. 5/5
Very pleasant album to listen to. Not really my genre,, but some songs strike the right chords.
One of the more expermental albums by David Bowie. Containing One of my favourite Bowie tracks Warszawa. But a few songs are way too short.
Just fine. Some nice tunes, some hits and some songs which are easily forgotten after listening.
No not for me. This is way too mellow and dull.
My previous album was Coldplay, so everything afterwards sounds refreshing and may have influenced my score for this. But this was really enjoyable listening and definitely a start for dig deeper in the discography of Elliott Smith. But as a whole it is not really an record which make much difference with similar artists. 3/5
It wonders me everytime how a band as Aerosmith has been changed from an interesting 70's heavy metal band to the annoying band it was in the 90's.
This album is a delight to listen to, every song got some kind of groove without losing the heaviness in the music. As the album progress the total experience flattens somehow, so 4/5
