More harmonica than expected. First two tracts are the musical embodiment of the time the son on Home Improvement was goth. While still pretty disjointed, the album picks up in listenability after the rough start. Still, when a full 1/3 of the album tracks are laughably cringe, it's hard to rate this album as a whole very high.
Starts incredibly strong before hitting a few rough patches. Back half is enjoyable alternative I'd listen to again, although unremarkable. Could see myself turning on the first 3-4 songs of the album again and then getting pretty heavy on the skip button. Ultimately doesn't have the hit power of Doolittle or other Pixies records. 3.5/5
More influential than good. Can't give an album with "Sunday Morning" and "I'm Waiting For The Man" one star, but having to listen to Nico makes me want to. 2/5 stars
Album is chock full of hits. The only problem is they are mostly other people's hits. The album is still an enjoyable listen and the concept of a British pop diva named Dusty gets an extra half star. 2.5/5 stars

Really liked "Heaps of Sheeps" and the some of the accompaniment throughout the album. While a few of the other tracks were enjoyable, they didn't live up to the opening track. Overall didn't connect with most tracks. 2/5
Summer of Love? More like "Summer of Did Not Care For". Did enjoy the instrumental "Embryonic Journey" and to an extent "Somebody to Love", but that is more due to Jim Carrey than Jefferson Airplane. Maybe it is due to this being an early psychedelic rock album, but alot of the songs seem like temu versions of better songs. Overall not for me. 1/5
Really skips the foreplay and launches right into Let's Get It On. Despite great singing throughout, Gaye really blew his load on the first song and couldn't keep it up for the rest of the record which doesn't really have any other standout songs. 2/5

Not sure that a compilation album should count for this and probably helps explain why it doesn't feel like a flowing, cohesive album since it covers her whole career. Feels like some points should be docked for that as part of this endeavor. As for the actual songs, I was a fan of the city-pop vibes a few tracks had and will probably listen to those some more. The rest I could take or leave.
I've been conflicted on certain albums that were compilations or featured a lot of covers. However, it's hard to fault this live album for that when King has the audience completely wrapped around his finger. The instrumentalism by King and his backing band throughout was really exceptional. The audience banter joking about beating your wife not so much. 3.75/5
Not my favorite. This seems like an album you need to soak in a bit and understand the lyrics after reading up on the context. I did appreciate it more on the second listen through, but a lot of homework.

The songwriting on this album still might not win any great awards but is huge progress from the cringe fest of their debut. The instrumentalism remained also took a step forward in terms of crispness and vastly improved transitions while still hosting some fun, non-standard choices. Album had some more diverse stylistic albums than expected. I'm going to pretend than "FX" and "Changes" aren't on the album and give it 4 stars.
I'm not a huge bittersweet symphony fan, so wasn't looking forward to this. Ended up being pleasantly surprised and know there was a time in my life where I would have enjoyed this album more. This album has a few songs that really seem at home as the soundtrack to a wrapping up/moving on montage for early 2000s network dramas, which sounds like an insult but isn't. The album did drag on a bit at the end and soured the review a bit, but overall more listenable than a lot of the albums that have been served up.
Bjorks claim to fame was pushing the boundaries of music with eccentric, inventive tracks. Not always my cup of tea, but hard to argue that what she put out was interesting. This album's single note approach drags on for too long and becomes wholly separate from her past inventiveness to be a dreadfully boring slog of a listen.
Such a stark contrast from yesterday's album (Bjork - Vulnicura) and a much more fun listen. Lots of upbeat, inventive samples throughout, some better integrated than others. Very few points to outwardly dislike in the album, but some tracks while fun/distinct still aren't ones I'd come back to over and over again for repeat listens. 3.5/5
Probably the best album artwork so far. Way too much chatter/narration over the first few tracks that distract from otherwise good songs. Some songs get a little repetitive at times, but I think most funk fans see that as a feature rather than a flaw. A fun enough album to have on in the background more so than an intense listening session. Also, Thumpasorus sounds like there are just fart noises through half of it
I like a nice dream pop album and this being from 1990 can certainly tell the influence in the genre. An enjoyable listen even if it lacks any standout tracks. 3/5
Preteen me thought this was a five star album. Current me still loves the cringy angst of the lyrics, layered vocals, and all the random record scratches that helped define a genre and an era. 5/5
It was clear when this album came out that it was a big step down from prior albums. While Kanye was always eccentric (at best) and egotistical, this album signaled the beginning of his megalomania. The first third or so of the album is punchy and energetic, even if the lyrics aren't what you've come to expect of Kanye and relies too heavily on shock value. The rest of the album is just sort of nothing. It seems like Kanye took the line famously sampled on his prior joint album "It's provocative, it gets the people going" as gospel. Unfortunately, this album fails on the latter. 2/5
