All time classic

Not a fan of the big brass here. I prefer the R&B, rock and roll Ray.

This has no business being on this list.

A cultural landmark that influenced many, while meaning to still sound fresh and immediate to this day. The power and assuredness of Chuck D paired with the energy and decisive Terminator X makes for a superb listen every time I put it on. 4.5 stars.

A mixed bag. Certainly some outstanding moments. I want more of Jimi’s little blues riffs (Little Wing). 3.5

Certainly some highlights. Second half falls off a bit. Not his best, but worthy of this list.

Generic. Wouldn’t be on my list.

I’ve always found the Police to be a bit corny. Listening to this today, that opinion still checks out.

Might change it later.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who like ABBA, and those who have good taste.

I’m sure there’s a lot to like here if you’re into this kind of thing.

The fact that so many people hear Newsom and can't stand the sound of her, her voice or her lyrical leanings has scant indentation on the fact that she is without any shadow of doubt an extra-extraordinary talent. The virtuosic displays of songwriting and performance here, especially in the vocal department, leave those who are not weak of heart in awe and wonder. Astounding, brilliant, deeply felt and voiced.

A 3 if it wasn’t for “A Day in the Life”. Progressive for its time, yes. But are the songs actually good? I say mediocre.

Pet Sounds is a true landmark in the history of popular music. Quite possibly the greatest album of all time.

I definitely didn’t think I was going to give this a 5 going in, but damn if it’s not a masterpiece! Stunning sound and song structure all the way through. 👍
