Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Jul 25 2026

4.5/5 Battery is a rousing opener, memorable Title track is a clear highlight obviously Thing that should not be and welcome home drag a bit. They aren't bad but they lack the punch to justify track length. Back half of welcome home feels like a rehash of master of puppets Disposable heroes is back to thrash at its best. Great antiwar track, great chorus Leper messiah is just standard metallica thrash. Certainly not a bad thing but it's not remarkable Orion is spectacular. It uses the space perfectly. Everything is earned, it does not overstay it's welcome despite its length or lack of vocals. A 10/10 song Damage inc is similar to leper messiah. It's a fine song but on an album so otherwise excellent it feels like a lackluster closer. This is a killer 55 minute album. It could be a perfect 40 minute album. The best songs on here are biblical. The worst are still very good

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Jul 26 2026

Great opening to the album, catches you immediately Visions shows the talent but it's not connecting for me. His voice is amazing here but the tempo doesn't suit I feel Living for the city is exactly stevie's magnificent voice used correctly. Just wow. Golden lady is a pleasant listen Higher ground is another highlight. He's at his best with upbeat soulfulness Jesus children america is funky and fun All is fair is the best ballad on the album Don't you worry is fantastic. Soothing yet rousing, catchy, everything you want from stevie Misstra know it all is a great closer I like Stevie. Not a huge fan but I do appreciate the classics. I don't think this album is him at his best. The talent is there, but I like him funky and upbeat. There's a lot of wasted space here in my opinion Soft 3.5/5

Ten by Pearl Jam
Jul 28 2026

The hits are hits, the back half drags

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Jul 29 2026

This is not really my thing so I'll try to be objective. The group really does a good job creating an ambiance of just chill, laid back, happiness. They are very clearly talented

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Jul 30 2026

Great voice, great music. I'm always a bit skeptical of 60s/70s white person blues but she really did knock it out of the park. I've slept on this one until now

Winter In America by Gil Scott-Heron
Jul 31 2026

Amazing voice. Great music to just lounge around to sonically. The message is powerful even today.

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Aug 01 2026

This one did nothing for me. I didn't find it particularly interesting and it's clear the group had not yet reached the heights of breakfast in america yet. Bloody well right was the clear stand out, but not enough to keep me reeled in

Picture Book by Simply Red
Aug 02 2026

It's fine. Good sound but they don't do much to differentiate between songs. Formulaic at times. Good lounge record

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Aug 03 2026

Recognized the sound right away as the group from Graceland. What they do is simple, yet beautiful. And certainly not recreatable by anyone else. Fantastic album even if it is outside what I would normally listen to

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Aug 05 2026

An unexpected one. I really really dig this. Atmospheric, ambiance, blissful

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Aug 06 2026

I love a good glam record. And this is a good glam record. Drags a bit with the instrumental but really good otherwise

Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces
Aug 07 2026

Not a fan. Village green but worse. Was close to giving up

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Aug 09 2026

They are clearly having so much fun and it's infectious. Unfortunately points off because RATM did the best song on here better than cypress hill

Tommy by The Who
Aug 11 2026

I think this is a fine, although sonically uninteresting album. Doesn't help it has all the "up it's own ass"ness of the wall, while being not as good. They're so concerned with telling a story in album format that many of the songs are boring, without any real musical splash. And this is the who, a very talented, very splashy band. Underture is the clear highlight for me. Pinball wizard and I'm free are fun too.

The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Aug 12 2026

It's simple yet beautiful. Technically limited but conveys a lot of emotion

Dookie by Green Day
Aug 13 2026

Great album, a few misses in the back half but it really is a strong one

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Aug 14 2026

He had the crowd in the palm of his hands. Sounds amazing. I think san quentin is better but this was truly groundbreaking and such an easy listen. Shoutout June, she sounds incredible in here songs

Who's Next by The Who
Aug 15 2026

This is the who at their best. Tommy spends too much time noodling a pointless story. This is an explosive release of angst. 3 certified classics on here, bargain and going mobile are also underrated

Home Is Where The Music Is by Hugh Masekela
Aug 16 2026

Good album but I find long form jazz a but boring/tedious. Not really my thing

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
Aug 17 2026

Not one I would expect to like but it's fun. His voice just works

Queen II by Queen
Aug 18 2026

It was fine. Their sound, none of their hits. Definitely a bit overindulgent at times
