1001 Albums Summary

Some bangers but they lost me outside of the singles. Mark Ronson loves his brass. This whole thing feels so 00s I should be wearing a denim miniskirt and leggings. Listened while working.

Wow what a nostalgic start to this whole thing. I remember listening to this on my green ipod mini in my year 8 classroom. Shame the guy turned out a dick but also what an era for collage style album covers. I kind of want to use this as a diary but I don't know how to write anymore! This feels like the Wes Anderson movie of music, heavy on the twee but I still vibe with a lot of it. Hard to separate from my teenage self though.

Listened on the bus across town. Kinda blurred together a little maybe I just don't have taste? Going to see the Barbie exhibition today which feels like the other end of the cultural spectrum. Also Tidal has animated album covers so it looks like it's snowing and I can't decide if that's cute or very corny.

Listened a day late because of big cycle to Gourock outdoor pool yesterday! Tried both versions, can't really say I had strong feelings about either.

I have a weird prg rock soft spot from listening to Genesis as a kid so I didn't hate this. Also I'm so tired from cycling today that it was kinda nice low effort background after catching up on Raw Power first.

Music for xfactor contestants. I want to give this a 2 cos it's really not for me even when it's good but I think my ratings are starting to look a bit sexist :/

Rest in peace & power Dolly 🦋

Was introduced to this by my dad as a teenager. It's so silly but I love it. 🦇

Opening track is so great, worth a listen for that!

Even though there are a couple of slightly weaker tracks, this has to be 5 for nonbinary rep and the opportunity to reread my favourite article: What's In Prince's Fridge? (if I ever get married I want to enter to I would Die 4 U)

Really what was going on in the 70s. Most of this was long and I was bored and the songs I recognised didn't sound great live... Also listened a day late oops

Ok maybe I finally get Dinosaur Jr this was great!

Too long!!! The 1970s are starting to piss me off

I don't think this is exactly my vibe but I'm glad it exists.

I like that they tried! But this sounds crazy.

I love when Thom Yorke sounds like a sad little robot

Okay I like it, picasso

Fine! The lead into boys are back was fun. I dislike having to hear the band intros on live albums.

Maybe I like jazz?

I wish I liked this more?

3.5 Good to work to? That 'cum on my tongue' really threw me off though.

I don't really remember this which means it was fine

Take On Me truly is one of the best songs ever written!!!!

Could have been an email
