Solid Stones fare but nothing remarkable after Sympathy.

Excellent album for the first half but can’t help but think it tapers off thereafter and the last couple of tracks are just unnecessary fillers.

Wonderful stuff – I love Ella Fitzgerald but this was too much Ella in one sitting for me. 59 tracks!

Tiny Dancer, a song I like because I’ve heard it a million times followed by 8 songs I’ve never heard and will never listen to again. They weren’t bad, just nothing special.

I enjoyed this album. Despite being a fan of 80s music, I'd somehow never listened to it all the way through. Money for Nothing is so ubiquitous that I must have heard it a million times, but really focusing on it this time made me realise just how good a song it is. There are plenty of other great moments too – the sumptuous sax break on Your Latest Trick, the opening of Ride Across the River (a nice Easter egg, as I recognised it as the Naughty by Nature sample) and the fabulous closer, the title track Brothers in Arms. An enjoyable listen.

A great blast through 35 minutes of soul. A fine mix of 4-to-the-floor classic Motown, with some Northern Soul moments and a couple of deeper, sociopolitical tracks that wouldn't sound out of place in a Blaxploitation movie. Solid.

It's Elvis. Good stuff.

One of the best debut albums and along with WTSMG, the soundtrack of my 90s.

A couple of all-time classics in Good Times and My Forbidden Lover, a couple of nice new finds in A Warm Summer Night and My Feet Keep Dancing and a few fillers. Good stuff though.

Bland, twee and boring. Good musicianship but didn't like the content of the songs at all.

A fairly pleasant listen but I wasn't into a lot of it. There were a few good tracks though and it was pleasant enough to work to.

I initially gave this a bad review as the version of the album on Spotify was a 'Deluxe' edition, and nobody would want to listen to 2.5 hours of this music unless they were diehard fans. I sacked it off after track 3. However, once I realised it should be a concise 4-track album at 37 minutes long, I gave it another shot and it was definitely more listenable, less daunting, and easier to finish. Solid ambient focus music.

A pleasant enough listen, but not particularly memorable. Decent American folk music, I guess.

A fine album with some brilliant songwriting. First 2 tracks are the standouts, Race For The Prize in particular.

OK. Not my type of music but not as bad as I thought it would be and I liked a few of the songs that I'd heard before – Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Wake Me Up When September Ends.

Human Cannonball was OK, I hated the rest, particularly USSA.

Love this album. Part of my soundtrack of '87, along with Bigger and Deffer by LL Cool J. Took me back. Dance Little Sister is a banger and there's some great tracks on here. If You Let Me Stay, Sign Your Name, Wishing Well, I'll Never Turn My Back On You all great songs. Love it.

Liked the first track, the rest was unremarkable.
