Solid Stones fare but nothing remarkable after Sympathy.

Excellent album for the first half but can’t help but think it tapers off thereafter and the last couple of tracks are just unnecessary fillers.

Wonderful stuff – I love Ella Fitzgerald but this was too much Ella in one sitting for me. 59 tracks!

Tiny Dancer, a song I like because I’ve heard it a million times followed by 8 songs I’ve never heard and will never listen to again. They weren’t bad, just nothing special.

I enjoyed this album. Despite being a fan of 80s music, I'd somehow never listened to it all the way through. Money for Nothing is so ubiquitous that I must have heard it a million times, but really focusing on it this time made me realise just how good a song it is. There are plenty of other great moments too – the sumptuous sax break on Your Latest Trick, the opening of Ride Across the River (a nice Easter egg, as I recognised it as the Naughty by Nature sample) and the fabulous closer, the title track Brothers in Arms. An enjoyable listen.

A great blast through 35 minutes of soul. A fine mix of 4-to-the-floor classic Motown, with some Northern Soul moments and a couple of deeper, sociopolitical tracks that wouldn't sound out of place in a Blaxploitation movie. Solid.

It's Elvis. Good stuff.
