Great album that covers different types of music- hard rock, soft rock, and soft hearted songs. It feels like a collection of greatest hits not a debut. This album is a response to the rolling stones album of a similar name which was very sexiest. That’s one of the reasons I love this album. The songs are all from a place of hating how the world is structured all around men and the anger that comes from that.
Reminds me a lot of adele. Liked a few songs a lot. Really liked the rhythm and beat of her songs.
very very good- very soul- very good rhythm and vocals- the entire album went by super fast and flowed extremely well- it made you really want to get up and dance. I did not enjoy the screaming in the background though from live fans
never heard of this group before but wow. Very fun album. Upbeat happy rap was not something i knew existed. Funny coincidence is that its actually coming out on spotify tomorrow and has not being on streaming for years- i’ll give it a listen tomorrow as well.
I love ABBA! Mamma mia is a classic fun movie I love to watch when I’m down. There music is so lighthearted and fun- even when dealing with more serious topics like breakups.
I love Pink Floyd. While Rogger Watters is a shit person he is great at lyrics, especially for this album. (with that said thank goodness for gilmore is a wholesome person). This album is a all time classic. I remember listening to it for the first time and being absolutely blown away. The idea of covering classic ideas such as money, war, & time is timeless. The sound of the album feels like your on a interstellar space ship traveling across the stars, where those classic topics are as relevant as ever.
As much as I wanted to love this album I just liked it. I don’t love Hendrix’s voice on this album. I think this album would be a lot better to listen to when high/not sober. There is a very great songs other eh ones on this album. Little wing was the standout song for guitar for me. Castle made of sand was the standout lyrics wise for me
Simply terrible. The lyrics are trash. The arrangements sound nice but are very generic. I feel like i’ve heard them before on random hallmark shows or movie montages. Each song sounds the same- bland flavorless boring. I could get why some people could like listening to this in the background but this sounds like other generic playlists I have put on in the past while cleaning. I definitely don’t think this one belongs on this list. I struggled to get through this one.
I personally love 80s music so I really liked this album. Tina Turner’s voice is just WOW. I read through her wikipedia and sad wow she had a really hard upbringing (her parents didn’t want her) she got pregnant at 18 from a man she didn’t love- just holy! and somehow she ended up so much more then ok. Back to the album- best songs are what’s love got to do with it, I can’t stand the rain, & private dancer. It has a very 80s sound so I can understand why it might not be everyone’s taste. I personally really enjoyed it.
Could not get into this- just did not like the general sound of this album. I did not enjoy the vocals at all- they just sounded strange to me.
Beautiful album: beautiful vocals, wonderful lyrics, diverse song content. It’s a shame the singer struggled so much with drugs/mental health and had been abused in her childhood. From reading on wikipedia it definitely seems like she was very edgy and the people of her time (90s) were not ready to hear it.
Heavy metal has not and won’t ever be my thing. Sorry not sorry
great beat (lol) lyrics were lacking diverse song content the sound felt very dated i loved the album cover
loved it- felt like i was in a nightclub i loved the rhythm beat and flow of the music. will definitely listen again
Interesting sound- sounded like country rock. beautiful guitar parks i liked it did not love it
Exceptionally good album. Reminded me a lot of Hamilton. I have never particularly loved hip hop or rap but this album was so good I really enjoyed it. Great rhythm, beat and lyrics. Diverse song content.
Good enjoyable album. I am not a fan of John Lennon personally (he was a shit person). The Beatles had some really great album when they were together though.
Did not really enjoy her voice. Some interesting arrangements with the guitar and other instruments. I think with a different singer it could have been much better. For a bunch of songs she sang with such a flat voice it was not pleasant at all.
Interesting mix of 80s and 90s style. Personally I was not a fan. Didn’t enjoy the voice of the singer. I did enjoy the oddfellows song though.
Really enjoyed a few songs didn’t like some others. Had a interesting modern sound to it.
Sounds like the music Ricky would have played with his band from I Love Lucy. Great music to dance to.
Great album. Reminded me of the eagles. Soft rock super listenable I will definitely listen to it again. The sound of this album aged super well.
Hard rock- I enjoyed it more then I thought I would. I feel like a live concert in a park would be great for this band. Or a hard workout. But its definitely hard to listen to if you’re just doing chores around the house.
Every song sounds the same. With that said I can see how this music would be great to have the background while eating at a fancy restaurant or in a classy bar. I’d like to have this in the background with friends over while drinking wine.

As another review said “ What a weird, touchy, rapey, gothy creep.” I think this should be taken off the list. I listened to a few seconds of the songs but that’s it I do not want to support this person. I skipped this album. I read some of the lyrics to one of the songs- they were so fucked up. Anyone who likes this music (and knows what the lyrics are saying) have something thing with them. No healthy happy person spreads hate.
Hard rock. I liked it- I think I need to listen to it more to give it a higher rating. I personally felt this its just a bit too hard rock- if it wasn’t so loud I think i would have liked it better. I personally don’t like that mid to late 90s sound of harsh drums.
Reminds me of the clash- Punk rock. I liked it a lot more then i thought i would. The songs had some pretty good guitar parts and some good song diversity. I want to listen to this record again when I need a upbeat record.
Love Johnny Cash. He was very ahead of his time going to prisons and having compassion for the prisoners. He relates to them in a song he wrote where he was thrown into jail for braking a curfew (is that still a thing?).
The rhythm and guitar parts are not bad. It’s the vocals that ruin it for me. The singer just sounds so tone deaf and uses the same tone in every song. Hearing he died shortly after this album from suicide is depressing. Learning where the name of this band comes from was just as depressing. Not a fan.
I loved this album. I love indie music- it was a super chill vibe. I loved the guitar parts I want to learn some. I plan on listening to this album again at work or while reading. It’s a quiet one/ definitely laid back not something I would listen to if I needed upbeat music. I wonder if this album inspired Ed Sheeran’s plus album name/cover? It looks super similar and I immediately thought of it when I saw this album cover.
I never realized how many famous songs came from this band. A true classic rock band! You can hear the blues influence. Full of songs you can picture people dancing to.
Did not like- way too harsh of a sound for me. Was too hard rock. Did not like rhythm or singer’s voice.
Reminded me of the Beatles and a little of the beach boys. Fun happy vibe, great lyrics and rhythm. Very diverse song content.
I really liked this album. I loved the jam sessions- since I play guitar it gave me a lot of ideas. These people could really play guitar. I think this album is a great example of guitar as a lead instrument which is not as common anymore in today’s music.
i’m a sucker for 80s music so I liked this album. It’s 80s slow pop rock. The song “The night I heard Caruso sing” is a great song. It’s about a feeling I have had a lot- the desire to have a child but also seeing how dark/horrible the world is and not wanting to bring someone into this.
Sound- 80s dance pop. Some parts sound very dated. With that said, the lyrics are awesome- criticizing capitalism and far right politics. The lyrics reflect boredom, loneliness, and despair. I loved what this group had to say. While the sound of some songs may be very dated I can see why this made the list.
A jazz nightclub album. I enjoyed it. The singer was very good. Felt like you were sitting in at a table in a nightclub. I wish Jazz nightclubs were still a thing I would go.
I loved the concept but just could not stand how it sounded. The concept was a album that covered all the sounds all over the world. Unfortunately the result was not pleasant sounding at all.
The sound of this album is the definition of classic hard rock. I read that they were a precursor to heavy mental and that makes a ton of sense from this album. The tone is much harsher then other classic rock albums. I liked it but I don’t think it aged as well as other bands like Pink Floyd or Creedence Clearwater Revival. Might be for me I’m not a fan of heavy metal. I didn’t read all the lyrics but read that they were mediocre. Lazy and smoke on the water were stand out tracks.
I really likes the anti establishment lyrics of this album. I actually think I might enjoy punk rock! This album reminded me of the clash another punk rock band.
This album is very interesting. If you want diverse song type content this is it. It’s 90s rock but with some soft and some hard songs. Personally I think 2 hours is way too long for a album. I liked some songs but couldn’t stand others. I think I would have liked it a lot more if it wasn’t a bit of heavy metal. 90s rock has never sounded great on my ears. I read that they wanted to make their own version of the wall. It definitely does not match the wall but I can see how they tried with all the diversity. I heard this is considered one of the best albums of the 90s and I think that’s proof that the 90s music fell short to other decades. The lyrics in this album are teenage angst not something I cared for. And the album lacks a strong story that the wall had.
Some creepy songs some good background ones. But as another review noted- this list is not for soundtracks and I don’t think this album have been included. Nice concept though- the album song’s were each supposed to be songs for movies.
I tried but just could not get through this one. The unstructured jazz was just so hard to listen to. While I know that there are people who love jazz it hasn’t worn off on me.
This album is the perfect combination of folk and rock! Absolutely loved it. Warm homely vibs. Love the 60s
A classic! 5/5. Great music to dance to, feels like you’re in the carribesn on a warm beach with a drink hanging out with friends. Love bob marley
The most 80s sound ever. I felt like I was a 80s movie- and while that sound can be fine in a 80s movie montage a whole album is a lot.
Famous southern band- they had a few hits especially sweet home Alabama (not in this album though). Some good songs- hard to listen to though after knowing they fly confederate flags at their concerts.
Was a traditional indian music album- not bad but not what i would listen to.
The first song felt like the intro to a Disney movie lol. Along with some other songs. The songwriting is not that great. Arrangements are enjoyable but not memorable. It made me laugh though so 3/5.
