Respect is a bop but man don't love the ending.

My initial impressions of this album were not great. I was really struggling with this album til I got to Welcome Home. I felt most songs take way too long for any of the lyrics to be said and the music isn't interesting enough to carry the songs but maybe that's just my impression of metal as a genre in general. I enjoyed Welcome Home and Disposable Heroes has grown on me quite a bit. It is a great commentary on war and has the best lyrics of the album with a great guitar solo.

I just love the blues man. Easy listening.

I like this album alot, the titular track is really fun. All of it is easy to listen to and does some unique things but I don't see myself listening to it all that often. It doesn't grab me in a way I want to be grabbed by music so I think I'm rating it in the middle. I like what it's doing but it doesn't stand out too far from everything else.

An interesting mix of country, folk, and rock but nothing that really stuck out.

Unique sound and I think I unironically really like the Iron man cover.

Metal just really isn't my genre. Even songs whose tune I can kinda jive with tend to overstay their welcome. It was nice to have an album with some energy to it cuz the last couple have been really slow but even still not a big fan.

The more I learned about the avalanches and their methodology the more impressed I became. Also, it was an Avalanches interview talking about their favorite examples of sampling that finally pushed me to check out Wu Tang Clan cuz they pointed out that they sampled the underdog theme for one of their major songs.

I feel like I want to give this a 4.5 but since I cannot and because I have listened to The Chauffeur so many times in my life and I do thoroughly appreciate hungry like the wolf as well I think I will give it a 5.

Its like if someone let a bunch of hippies of the street and said we've got a ton of money so sure we'll make an album out of whatever you do and the hippies were like yeah okay and just pretended to sing/talk nonsense into a mic and bang on the instruments in the studio fro an hour.

Not bad but not particularly remarkable overall. Last Nite bumps it up to a 4 for me though.
