WOAHHHHHHHHH Title track is INSANE. Love the buildup with the flowy jazz and then the rich singing. It's just so melodic. I really want to listen to his other stuff bc of that. Second track I thought was a little slower, but still really damn good. Learning about the history and aftermath of this album was also very interesting, made me want to learn more about Nigerian history.
Super smooth and rocky soul album. Loved the elements of prog rock and psychedelia in there, and simultaneously surprised I hadn't heard more about both Michael and this album. Lowkey deserves a relisten bc I was driving while I heard the majority of it, so it would benefit from me paying more attention to it. it's something special for sure though.

It's about time I listened to this album. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed this, especially because I haven't enjoyed rock very much when I'd listened to it previously. I really like the tracks with Nico, I don't even know how to describe why. The instrumentation with her deep voice is just awesome.
I thought the last two tracks as well as Venus in furs were a little slower than I like, especially for a rocky album. I liked this album a lot.

I was pissed when I saw this bc I thought it would be some random tedious rock album, but I was pleasantly surprised. I found all of the songs really really catchy, and although they weren't anything special I enjoyed them very much. Reading about the history of the band was very interesting, I wouldn't know this album was lacking some perfect frontman. No offense but I get tired of the dude's voice, still very fine though. YAY

Don't make me mad John Cale. what even was that. I mean it was fine but it sounds like a record you'd find at a record store for a dollar and then pretend you like because you spent money on it. Kinda forgettable too.

Sounds like three best friends got together one day in a studio and made this. Also happens to sound awesome. Love the beats, love how groovy and upbeat they are. I did find some of the lyrics to be kinda awkward and I thought the interludes were a little annoying at times but still damn good.

My third Velvet Underground adjacent album in like a week 😭Way different from self titled, more abstract and noisy. Layering of vocals and instrumentation still there tho. Lowkey too noisy at times but I respect the vision.

Really, really nice. Don't think I am versed in jazz enough to know why exactly this album sounds good, nor have I ever heard a jazz album that I didn't like, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. All I know is that it's incredibly calming and pleasant. Makes me feel like a 80 year old feeding pigeons in a park in the fall with the wind blowing around me. Heat.

FIRE. I think a great introduction to Bowie. I just love how he can take like barely any instrumentation and turn it into a genuinely interesting sound. Found the middle a little dull but it picked back up and the beginning was peak as hell.

Omg this was so bad 😭 Literally none of the instrumentation worked well together, his voice annoyed me so much, and some of the lyrics were so random that it annoyed me. I genuinely don't know why people love this album so much its so off-putting. The title track is where I realized that maybe this wasn't going to be as good as I thought it would, what the actual hell is the intro. It doesn't get better either, the "I'm a blackstar" interruption was so grating. I get that this album's whole thing was that he was dying, but at least make it sound good damn.

Huh. I was expecting something completely different because of the diva on the front, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Really impressed by how it's almost ambient at times instead of just typical 70s 80s rock. No wonder Brian Eno produced this. Guys voice is cool, instrumentation is cool, like two songs are a bit annoying but other than that super evil, super dank album.

Oh my god. This album created the best and most consistent atmosphere on an album I've ever seen. Down to the album art the music is just so solemn and frosty. Also every song was beautiful in its own way, the shorter ambient and electronic tracks added so much depth as well. The highlight is The Cure's trademark guitar and Smith's wailing vocals. I liked how on some of the tracks the vocals were pulled back, giving more attention to the instruments. Jesus.

Was NOT expecting to love this as much as I did. Super grungy, psychedelic, LONG songs with often some cool harmonies. This type of music often has like 4 minute songs so it was an awesome surprise to seem go past 8 minutes, even to 10 at one point.

I have heard a lot of opinions about Eminem, but I don't even care this was so fun to listen to. I think a lot of it was nostalgia, I listened to My Name Is like 30 times when I was a kid, but the lyrics are so random, beats are awesome, and man can he create an environment. I think some tracks were a little boring and it ran too long, but there is no way I can give this less than a 4.
