Apple Venus Volume 1
XTCNot available on Spotify, had to use YouTube instead. Really strong, atmospheric yet almost theatrical opener with River of Orchids. Standout Tracks - River of Orchids - I'd like that (say a sunflower) - Easter Theatre

Better than expected. Highlights: - The World is Yours - Half Time - It Ain't Hard to Tell
Pretty chill, Take Five is decent. Wouldn't choose it, but makes good background listening
I'd never heard of Traffic before. Definitely an album of two halves - the first half is decent, and the second totally lost me. The title track was rough. Standouts: Glad, Empty Pages
Generally inoffensive, but not my style. Too radio-friendly American 'rock'.
Need to relisten but overall has great potential and is more my thing
This is the first album that has genuinely surprised me. I was so sure I wouldn't like it given I'm not usually into rap, and have listened to the odd Kendrick song before and not enjoyed them. Standout tracks were - MoneyTrees and Swimming Pools (Drank).
Not a fan of this one. A bit too shouty and riotous for my taste.
Honestly a difficult listen. It wasn't offensive in any way, just quite far from my thing. Reminded me of something my Gran would probably enjoy. It was also very long, and felt it.
Enjoyed this one - a relatively short but high energy. Will relisten.
I've felt like I should like Manics for a long time, and always wanted to get into them. I just don't for some reason. Standout song - Kevin Carter
Weird listening to Fairy Tale of New York in an album context. Kind of played to death, but a good song. Like the Metropolis instrumental - pretty fun.
I really liked the opened Cherub Rock, but beyond that the album kind of merged together for me. I can tell how influential this album is - but it's not completely my thing. I did enjoy it more than I expected to though.
A good example of an album where I can appreciate the draw and influence, but it's just not my thing. Standout Tracks: - It's Too Late - I Feel the Earth Move
I know some Supergrass, but never listened to a full album before. The first song had me hooked. Standout tracks: - I'd Like to Know - She's so Loose
A clearly highly influential album that was ahead of it's time. The vocals in Neon Lights reminds me a lot of Teleman.
Standout tracks: - Mother and Child Reunion - Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard
Enjoyed this one, will definitely relisten. Standout tracks: - I Will Dare - Unsatisfied
Started slow and not really enjoyable for me, until Cecilia kicked in. Standout tracks: - Cecilia - Keep the Customer Satisfied
An interesting album which is clearly very influential in the indie scene, but I couldn't quite get into the album as a whole. While there were some great tracks, the songs in between failed to sell the album to me. Standout Tracks: - E-Pro - Girl
Overall it was fine, very close to being my thing but not quite. I generally liked the vibe, but it all dragged on and blended in a bit much for me. It doesn't seem particularly influential or groundbreaking like many albums on this list are.
I can understand the appeal, but not for me. Standout song was probably King of Pain
A clearly very influential album, I can hear how they've impacted the sound of a lot of the current bands I like. I recognised Damaged Goods, to realise I had previously listened to IDLES cover. Standout Tracks: - Natural's Not in It - Damaged Goods - Return the Gift - At Home He's a Tourist
Not available on Spotify, had to use YouTube instead. Really strong, atmospheric yet almost theatrical opener with River of Orchids. Standout Tracks - River of Orchids - I'd like that (say a sunflower) - Easter Theatre
The first album I've had on record so far. Enjoyed this album a lot, and think it flows really nicely. Standout Tracks: - Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Head Over Heels
Clearly extremely influential. Recognised a good few songs straight away.
Enjoyed this a bit less than I expected to, but I did expect to like it a lot. Clearly a good album, with potential for me to like it more. Perhaps just not in the right mood for this one today.
Overall enjoyed this a lot more than I thought, although it's still not really my thing. Standout Track: Heart of Gold
Great, iconic album. Standout Tracks: - Here Comes Your Man - Mr Grieves - Hey
One of, if not the shortest albums I've ever come across. 15 minutes of punk chaos (not in a negative way). Although, I am relieved it was only 15 minutes.
Standout Track: And When I Die
Overall better than I expected. Not quite as heavy as I was anticipating, but still not really my thing.
Really not for me, but I understand the appeal and it sounds very of its time.
I'd never heard of The Sugarcubes before, but I was pleasantly surprised. Also interesting to find out Bjork was in the band. Standout track on first listen was: - Delicious Demon
Preferred Dolittle, but still a great album.
I was really happy to see this album come up, I've loved this album for a long time now. Standout Tracks: - The Suburbs (never gets old) - Half Light II (No Celebration) - We Used to Wait
I'd never heard of Frank Black, but was happy to find out he is the Pixies frontman. I really enjoyed this album and will definitely relisten. Standout tracks on first listen: - Headache - Freedom Rock
Better than I expected. Particularly the strong opener (War Pigs). Standout Tracks: - War Pigs - Paranoid - Iron Man
Completely new band and album to me. Overall pleasantly surprised, although not mind blown. Standout Tracks: - Hoover Dam - If I Can't Change Your Mind
The album started extremely strong, but lost me a little in the second half. Standout Tracks: - Staring at the Sun - Dreams
Need to listen to this one more. Enjoyed it overall, but also wasn't blown away. Standout Tracks: - Revival - Don't Cry - Desire Lines - Coronado
First album I couldn't bring myself to finish. Just really not my thing. The interludes consisting of weird noises was also uncomfortable.
Clearly an icon album with amazing artwork and some massive hits. Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Time After Time are iconic songs you can't not like. Standout Tracks (I hadn't heard before): - Yeah Yeah - I'll Kiss You
Listened to this album many times before and I love it. Every single song is excellent. I've been through phases of being obsessed with almost every song, so a standout song list would just be almost the full album.
Easy listening, not lifechanging. Standout Tracks: - Badlands - Candy's Room
Listened to this one twice, it makes very easy background listening. Standout Tracks: - Turn - Writing to Reach You - Driftwood
Didn't enjoy this one much, very strange time
Standout Tracks: - Zero - Heads Will Roll - Soft Shock - Dull Life
Iconic album. Standout Tracks: - Darts of Pleasure - Jacqueline - The Dark of the Matinee - Take Me Out (overplayed, but amazing track)
Really enjoyed the first song. An iconic and ahead of it's time album. Not my thing, but I see the talent and the mass appeal. Standout Tracks: - Let's Go Crazy
Surprisingly enjoyable and fun album. Standout Tracks: - Dreamer - Hide in Your Shell
Standout Tracks: - Gasoline Alley - It's All Over Now
Recognised a good few songs, but not for me. Standouts: - We've Only Just Begun - Help
Standout Tracks: - In My Bed
I liked some songs a lot, but overall didn't love this one as a whole album. Standout Track: - Two Weeks
Skipped after the first track. I appreciate the skill in jazz, it's just not for me
