Popular Reviews

Very by Pet Shop Boys

Synth melodies are corny. Lyrics are soft. Came out in the 90s but this is very 80s sounding which I'm not a huge fan of. This is unlistenable...

Sail Away by Randy Newman

First song his voice sounded retarded. Second song better but why listen to this when tom waits exists? Ended up being not great. Some interesting songs, overall probably a 1.5.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Apr 18 2025

Every song was beautiful yet gritty. Cohen's voice is unmatched. No skips

Very by Pet Shop Boys

The Score by Fugees
Apr 25 2025

Again, not huge on rap, think it’s limited as a genre. That said, Ms. Lauryn Hill is very talented, she has creative rhyme schemes and interesting lyrics. Production is cleaner, but keeps the rawness. Good variation in the themes and melodies and lyrics. Ended up liking this a lot. 4.5 imo

Sail Away by Randy Newman
Apr 27 2025

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Apr 28 2025

Not my favorite white stripes but still great

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Apr 29 2025

Solid project definitely some value here. Ahead of its time and ambitious, I just didn't particularly love any songs, they're all just pretty interesting and/or sonically pleasing. 3.5

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Apr 30 2025

Not super listenable but thats okay. Very unique and overall a solid project. Very interesting experimental stuff on here. I think 3.5 or 4... there are better sonic youth projects but this is still great

Joan Baez by Joan Baez
May 02 2025

Here's what I'm never gonna do: listen to Joan Baez sing House of the Rising Sun when the Monkees did it perfectly, listen to Joan Baez sing I Know You Rider when the Grateful Dead do it better. She's got a decent voice I just don't like it. Also the mixing on this is way too heavy on vocals. I understand that's intentional, I just don't like it or want it. Vibratos are overkill is kind of annoying.

Guero by Beck
May 05 2025

Its decent, for some reason ive just been struggling to enjoy it. think i just need more time with it

Kenza by Khaled
May 08 2025

Not on spotify, listened to the first song on youtube, dont think im missing much

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
May 10 2025

would be disingenuous to rate this a 1 or 1.5. I never really like the like pop singer over a piano music. i cant stand that tiny dancer song but the others are alright. but the production is solid and its not as corny as some other Elton John

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
May 12 2025

excellent album. the type of album where 5 seconds into every song you can tell its quality. Joplin with legendary vocals.

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
May 13 2025

Pretty solid, only a few songs that really stuck with me but its all solid. Easy listen, probably a 3.5

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
May 14 2025

definitely one i'm gonna need more time with. seems dense lyrically

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
May 15 2025

Solid 3. She has a good voice and i like the minimal production. easy listen. doesnt touch eva cassidy though

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
May 17 2025

tough one to rank. the songs that i recognize im kind of sick of, and but the ones i dont still sound good. i can definitely see the integrity of the album. if i were listening to this for the first time it would probably be blowing my mind but it was just so overplayed in high school and i didnt like it in high school. it really is a crazy innovative blend of r&b, hip hop, and pop with great production.. its quality

Rocks by Aerosmith
May 18 2025
Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
May 19 2025

Good amount of versatility in this. Decent voice. at times feels like a soulless impression of genres rather than a genuine attempt. but it is cool that it goes from like bluesy soul to ska-ish. lyrics are meaningful. i mean if youre talking records about a breakup, this is infinitely more personal and ambitious musically than someone like T swift or olivia rodrigo.

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
May 20 2025

nothing im really gonna revisit on this tbh. Marley is a legend but whatever

The United States Of America by The United States Of America
May 21 2025

liked this one a lot. interesting and experimental, amusing lyrics. good stuff

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
May 22 2025

its great. great voice, good quality. i just prefer no voice i think, like the bill evans record. this is beautiful though

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
May 23 2025

we in wakanda? described as an epic storyteller but idk what he sayin. feel like i gotta have some connection to the culture to enjoy this

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
May 24 2025

This was pretty sick felt inspired by the electronic stuff from Radiohead

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
May 28 2025

was surprised i hadn't already listened to this all the way through. what an incredible record. little wing cover is mind blowing no other way to put it

Street Life by The Crusaders
May 29 2025

Some great jamming on this album. clean production and definitely quality

Dookie by Green Day
May 31 2025
Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Jun 01 2025

Great album, surprised it was only the late 60s. the production is great the way it layers in the orchestra and makes a full sound. totally reimagined walk on by. 4.5

Heroes by David Bowie
Jun 03 2025

So much good variety, no skips

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jun 04 2025

Pretty great album, tempted to give it 5 stars. yeah, its 5 stars.

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Jun 07 2025

can't stand born in the usa (the song). overall the album got 80s-ified compared to his old stuff so not my favorite of his albums but the non hits are the most enjoyable listens. always love a clarence clemons solo though

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Jun 08 2025

Not moved. Boring as hell.

The Healer by John Lee Hooker
Jun 12 2025

this record feels so commercial, not the gritty blues I love hearing from JLH but more like playing smooth poppy blues with a random selection of celebrities to sell records. Can't blame him for doing it in 1989 but just isn't a great record

Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 13 2025
Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Jun 14 2025

I've never loved Sinatra. Obviously talented but doesn't get me super excited. You've heard one song on this album you've heard them all. Songs are sweet but not very deep. It's mixed well and is easy listening.

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
Jun 15 2025

Love the creative instruments. Could see people not enjoying the vocals as they kinda drone, but i don't mind it. not a fan of the synthetic drums. bass is weirdly buried in the mix on some songs considering he's a bassist. feel like it just dosn't have enough room to breathe. other songs like Visions of You the mixing is better though. I think the album is hits and misses, which is understandable for all the weirdness going on. if im being totally honest the opening track gave me really high hopes for the album, but only really everymans an island got me as excited. 3.5

Kilimanjaro by The Teardrop Explodes
Jun 18 2025

Never heard of this group before but this album is awesome. Its like psychedelic clash. tons of variety

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jun 19 2025

the opposite of timeless, feels so corny and i hate the production. don't mind mccartney's singing but i dont like the song because jackson's singing is so annoying. theres a couple okay songs (baby be mine, pyt) but only billie jean is really interesting.

Suzanne Vega by Suzanne Vega
Jun 22 2025

first song is a skip with the nursery rhyme singing. not a fan of layering in the 80s synths either. songs are boring

Jun 28 2025

Iconic and great. Will admit the rhyme schemes are little bleh but the tracks still hit hard as hell. would probably go 4.5

Imagine by John Lennon
Jul 02 2025

I like this a lot, probably a 4.5 for me
