Not a fan of the intro to this album. AnnaLisa was also a chaotic song with no direction. The guitar is fantastic of course but so is all the rock/prog instrumental in this late 70s era. And after listening to the outro this is a 4/10 album. Just don’t like the vocals and the themes. There’s no direction but the instrumental is pretty good
Yeah that’s some good shit. Not my favorite album of his but definitely solid. 8/10
Mmmfgh. Not my favorite album of his and it’s a little repetitive thematically but damn it’s so good. 9/10
Despite the deserved hate this is a pretty good album. Consistent themes, great instrumentals and vocals. Some songs were ehhhh but others felt like Jeff Buckley. 7.5/10
Not their best album by a long shot. Frankly generic almost to the point of Disney-level corniness. Maybe I just don’t know enough rock/metal history to judge this album’s place in time. Enter Sandman and The Unforgiven are my favorites from this one, but most of the rest sounds the same. 6.5/10
Enjoyed the progression of this album. Some parts were nothing special but they still contributed to the story. 8/10
Solid foundations and some good songs. The whole composition was boring however. Clearly his first album given the shaky vocals. 6.5/10
If geometry dash was a crappy game they’d use this album for music. Just funky enough for a bland UK audience. This was an embarrassing listen in the daytime. Some of the tracks were alright, probably better on drugs. 3/10
Cool instrumentals but bland vocals. Some songs are unique and have energy but many were the same monotonous slur of words. 6.5/10
Coolio. Crack rock to pyramids is great. Still a lot of fluff in this one compared to Blonde. 8/10
I’m a fan of all things Monk so this is not a subjective review. 9/10
Never realized how good the sax is for this group. Sades voice is so smooth but some of the songs are poorly composed. Particularly the last one on this album was awful. 6.5/10
Such a banger album. Each song works together but is also unique so it doesn’t feel repetitive. Only detraction is I don’t always like Fagens vocals. 9/10
7/10. Legendary setlist but also really annoying at points
I quite like the cure but this wasn’t their best by far. 6/10
Tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and it disappointed me at every turn. 2/10
Simple and thoughtful. 8/10
Biased review because I had already loved this album. The progression of emotion is perfect, his voice is unique and trained, the composition of each song is solid. I’ll admit there’s a little filler. 9.5/10
Surprisingly short but no complaints. Beautiful voice from this era. The mixing was ok for a live album. 9/10
Idk why Morrissey started barking in the second to last song. Liked the general vibe but disliked the more experimental songs. 7/10
Just not my type of rock. Feels bland and corporate. “One” was pretty good. The instrumentals are just too flat overall. it’s like if Coldplay had bad production. 2/10
Being assigned this right after Ozzy died is wild. The birth of metal rock right here. Whole thing sounds like it was composed in a graveyard. 8/10
So smooth and cool. Beautiful but got a little tired of some vocals. 9/10
8.5/10 I listened to this maybe 3 months ago and loved it. Not my favorite of theirs but definitely a banger. Some filler present in the second half
Over hated album. Definitely has its flops but the sound is defined and well made. 8/10
British punkish rock. Astonishingly mid. Some fun tunes but the songs just didn’t have much depth . 6.5/10
I can see how this could be repetitive for some but it’s really just lovely all around. No complaints, Sinatras voice and style is timeless 9.5/10
This must have been crazy to experience in 1964. Not the perfect album but it’s damn good. “And I love her” is one of the best love songs ever. 9/10
Last 2 songs were great. I know Bowie is a legend and a genius but a lot of his work just isn’t my thing. This album was meh overall. 6.5/10
The backing beats and instrumental was actually not bad. It was like if sublime forgot how to make a clean sound. Too bad the vocalist here ruined the whole thing top to bottom. 2/10
Well produced album, prog rock experimental sound. Once again Bowie is just not my thing. Pink Floyd has a lot of similar albums but their stuff is cohesive whilst this is more random. 6/10
Good instrumentals. The laziest vocal performance ever. This combination made most of the album boring. 5/10
The most I’ve enjoyed an album so far in this list. Couldn’t put this one down. Halo or Policy of Truth were my favorites. 10/10
Nothing stands out but yeah it was well made. 7.5/10
No absolutely not. The riffs were promising but everything else blew. 2/10
A real testament to their songwriting and musical talents. 8/10
This album was not Todd’s strongest. He reached pretty far out of his comfort zone for some songs, and while it’s good to experiment he should’ve left some of these tracks behind. 6/10
Got boring quickly, this early 80s synth stuff blended with Princes voice just doesn’t do it for me. Still good songwriting and production. 7/10
Banger. Not every song is perfect but Amy does a damn good job. She maintains her style but offers variety. 9/10
Okay album with nice riffs. Kinda unremarkable soft rock. 6/10
Such a beautiful cross section of punk rock. This album is really significant to how the sound of punk evolved into the 2000s. The lyrics are meaningful and pretty on beat for this genre. The vocals totally ruined this album for me personally though. She uses the same voice in every song and has no flexibility. 7/10
This album reeks of contempt for the Nigerian government. Just 4 tracks but each with their own unique approach. Banger, need more like this. 9/10
I would have rated it higher if it wasn’t so long. The lyrics still hit me pretty hard. 7/10
An album that requires some sunshine to enjoy. I’m always gonna love an album that has an agenda so 8/10
Some cool riffs but about 45 minutes too long. 3.5/10
Prime experimental Hendrix. Lovely stuff but kinda choppy for an album. 8/10
Good ol 80’s soul music. I love this kind of stuff. Good variety, not really experimental. 9/10
9/10. The instruments can get repetitive but it’s such a well defined sound.
Cool, nothing special. I like this genre but this album seems like it does more copying than creating. Still sonically sound so 7/10
Good sometimes great songs, but no flow as an album. I like The Police a lot but this isn’t really their best. Still good stuff 7/10
That sweet funky mmmgh. Just the right number of tracks to not feel repetitive. 9/10
