It just moves at a different pace. The whole album feels like it’s not running on anyone’s time but it’s own. There’s a delightful sluggishness, a swampy feeling. John Fogerty is on his game, vocals cutting through with raspy righteousness. This album makes you want to move and groove. Extremely well recorded.
It’s so classic. Julian Casablancas has such a unique sound, and nobody was doing this at the time. Sounds so NYC. Great record, love revisiting it.
So classic. Everything feels huge and on its own time. Legendary guitar tone. Geddy’s vocals soar into the next dimension. Feels like a journey from end to end!
Oh my god how have I never heard this. This album is inspiring. From the needle drop, I was 100% invested. The textures build a whole different world and keep your ears satiated throughout. The emotion in every instrument really makes you FEEL something. What a listen. This album has changed me.
I mean whatever. Not my cup of tea.
So ahead of its time. Really bridges the gap between OK Computer and In Rainbows. Super easy to listen to, but nothing you would hear on the radio. Love Where I End And You Begin.
Very different than what I’ve listened to lately. Found it super enjoyable though! Got me thinking of textures and various percussion that I want to hear moving forward. Would listen again.
Easy to listen to. The Boss makes good music. I’ve never been a huge follower, but this was a fun listen. Feels like a good addition to a vinyl collection. Also - he did this in 1978?? Sheesh, nice work Bruce.
Hell yeah. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean are a match made in heaven. The flow of this album is so good.
I mean, what else can be said that hasn’t already? One of, if not the biggest rock concept album ever, defining a moment in musical history that created an era defining show. The whole album together is a movie of epic proportions, and puts to perspective the separation felt by isolation
Fuck yeah. I love this fucking album, it really does it for me.
It’s so fucking rad, honestly
Classic sound, very neutral feelings
My second or third favorite ZZ Top album, still great though
Not my favorite, honestly. Steven Tyler really likes young girls, and he wants you to know it. Love in an Elevator is cool though. You can really hear the Bon Jovi producer putting his fingerprints on this sonically. I just don’t care for it much
It’s fine. Easy to listen to, not super memorable for me.
Yes is cool. Rick Wakeman is a savant, and prog rock starts with these dudes
I dig it and would listen more, it does cool stuff. Not my usual lane, but interested in it
I mean, the album that kicked off a legendary run
Not my favorite Bowie album. I like some of the auxiliary instruments, some cool organs in the mix. But not my fav.
Great stuff on here, Burn Hollywood Burn is a jam. Album is long IMO. But given its significance at the time, I think it does a lot. I dig it, and would listen again
A little Oingo Boingo, a little INXS. Fun listen, want to find more The The and listen to this again in a week.
Austin Rock n Roll, but very…tame? It’s fine, and I like it, but this album isn’t my favorite in their catalogue.
Classic album, really solid throughout. Reminds me of college graduation. Lots to like.
Fun album! Really loved the energy. Actually saving this one. Ginger Baker rocks
I enjoyed this. I need to listen to more PJ Harvey
Not bad, didn’t connect with it entirely, but I enjoyed parts of it for sure
Fun one, easy 5 stars for listenability and songwriting
Undeniably good. What a dick.
This was super rad, never listened to them before. I want more!
Hahahahahahaha this is so fun. What a great pairing. Always fun to pull this out
Liked this much better than I thought I would. Can’t believe they only made one album.
Really enjoyed John Lennon here. Much better album than I expected.
Love Curtis Mayfield. This album is okay, has some good moments.
Excellent live album. Cheap Trick aren’t my fav, but this is so easy to listen to. Also has THE version of I Want You To Want Me
I actually liked this much more than I anticipated. Fun album
It’s so gentle and soft, I really enjoy S&G. The horns in The Boxer are aspirational. I find purpose in every track to be honest.
I enjoy it, but it’s a little stagnant to me.
What a weirdly mixed album
I have a lot of respect for this album and what it accomplished. It’s a little long, but easy to enjoy. But when you contextualize it, it paved the way for a lot of albums I love.
These guys really don’t miss. It’s such a nice sounding album
Fuck meeeeee. Great album though.
Prettyyyyy pretty good. Lots of standards, but some skips if I’m not in the right mood.
I have this on vinyl. It’s a good one
Almost perfect. I love this shit. Straight to the point!
It’s got one good song, IMO
Some great tracks here. Love the sound. I enjoyed this one
Enjoyable, some good stuff. Not sure I’ll listen again. Lou Reed is awesome though
I actually really loved this
Love this one, for sentimental reasons. He did this by himself!
Not my fav Steely album, but good
I like Joni, not my fav album
