Sounded fine. Not sure if I’m just never in the right mood, but I just still have never understood why Radiohead is such a big deal. I liked this more than I remember liking kid A or ok computer, but I’m not really confident in that assessment
This just felt old in a boring way. Plenty of old music still feels fresh and alive. The Beatles still sound great. But this to me felt like an artifact from when before music got better. Some of the songs are good, and that is a bit overly harsh. Maybe was in the wrong mood, but I was caught off guard how bored I was for most of it
Sounded good. I love jazzy music, but less pure jazz, but this was totally enjoyable. Nothing really stuck with me but I found it consistently enjoyable
Is not in my top 3 tribe albums, but is still very good. Good vibes, sounds great. I like less than others, but not really sure why
With how Frank Zappa looks and being weary of older music after being bored so much my bob Dylan, I wasn’t particularly excited about this… but I was very wrong. This absolutely rocks. Lively, surprising and chaotic, but also just completely pleasant start to finish
Even though most inescapable Beatles songs still somehow find ways to sound fresh to me when listening to albums. However, other than imagine, this album is a bit simple and boring for me. I always figured Lennon was the one that worked less for me, which this mostly confirms. I get why people would love it, but I don’t need to ever hear this again
Solid. Not really for me, but I found it pleasant enough. Other than Father John, which was difficult to get through (im sure many disagree but I can’t understand why), this was an easy listen
I was caught of guard by how beautiful this was. It is cozy and sweet. Each song choice is great and this versions all feel unique and comfortable at the same time
Great top to bottom. A lot of this is very famous, either in original form or samples, but still sounds fresh.
This all sounds like it was from a video game based on the matrix. I was hopeful I’d like this, because I love good electronic albums, but I just don’t really like punky big beat/techno and so this isn’t for me. The second half is better but I don’t want to hear this again
Consistently pleasant but it didn’t stand out to me. Maybe I just wasn’t sad enough or in the right environment to fully appreciate. But as it stands I prefer fun/dancy Beck. I imagine I’ll listen to this more, although also might completely forget about it
It’s the Beatles, it’s great. It has very high highs, although does have some misses and is a bit scattered in a way that is more abrupt then compelling. Still great, but not my favorite
I’m not sure why this was on this list and I’m not sure how to describe it, but I did enjoy it quite a bit. It feels experimental in a fun/silly way instead of trying to be something, so stays surprising and playful and fun
Very good. I didn’t know what Elvis Costello sounded like. I thought this would be cornier (like a whole album of mystery dance, which I wouldn’t enjoy), but it sounded pretty great. This is probably an offensive comment, but this is what I expect Bruce Springsteen to sound like, although I feel like when I listen to Bruce I end up disappointed. This was not disappointing
This sounds classic, which I mean both as a compliment and complaint. She sounds great and these songs individually sound great, but 20+ minutes of this consecutively is a bit rough. These all definitely warm there spot on a golden oldies playlist, but that just isn’t really something I’m interested in listening to
Really good. Nothing in particular to note. This is what I expected Radiohead to sound like (this is an REM compliment and a Radiohead insult)
Beautiful. I love the strings and flute. I just listened to a girl called dusty a couple days ago, and I don’t understand how this and that only came out 3 years apart. This would sound fresh if it came out today where that sounded 100 years old
It sounds like what I expect classic rock to sound like. Solid with some great songs but overall not spectacular to me
I get its significance but it does not hold up well. It has a lot of the bad 90s rap staples (unpleasant skits that make this awkward to listen to around others, too long, repetitive) and just doesn’t do it for me. I’ve never been a big biggie fan. Some of it is good, but isn’t a great overall listen and I’m not going back to it
This worked for me. It is weird and does a lot, but it’s fun. The whole thing is silly and entertaining. Long distance runaround is great. Heart of the sunrise is a great closer
It’s so good. Every song is good. The sounds are interesting, he sounds great. Perfect
Basically, it’s if the Beatles were worse. It isn’t bad, and there probably is a smarter take about it, but this is how it sounded to me
This doesn’t really work for me. Not sure how exactly to explain why. Some good songs, but the ways it’s experimental just feel chaotic and the rapping feels mostly cheesy. Also, I hate Saturday night. I don’t know why I know this song, but it makes me irrationally angry. I don’t think I ever would have liked it, but it must have been in a sports video game or something when I was in high school and listened to it a thousand times to build this degree of aversion
This sounds exactly what you’d think it sounds like. He sounds great, but it does sound old and a it repetitive. Could be nice in the background but doesn’t really do it for me
A little too short with some of the interludes but is interesting and smooth and great
Very good. Very witchy. The right amount of punky/noisey for me that was still an easy listen all the way through
I love 80s synth pop, and this is great 80s synth pop.
In my brain, all the early 2000s white hipster bands are the same thing. It’s just something I missed in the time. But whenever I listen to the best of it, I realize how wrong my association of it is. This album is so good. The only thing keeping it from being perfect is the middle drags a bit. But this just sounds pleasant and familiar but still has moments of surprise and joy
I had no idea what Neil young sounded like and after 5 seconds I thought I might hate this… after 45 seconds I was in and didn’t doubt that again throughout. It sounds lovely and I now just have it on repeat because it is cozy in a way I don’t want to end
I was grumpy (wrong mood for this) and I’ve heard girls just want to have fun too many times… but this still sounded very good. I get why this is an all time great. My rating is probably too low, but I blame it on this popping up when summer is over
I listened to this 3 times and somehow can’t remember anything about it. I feel like it has different sounds and isn’t ambient like some of Enos stuff, but my brain just completely tuned it out. So it was listenable but completely forgettable to me
Some of it sounds good, but it just feels kind of weird for weird sake and I don’t need to hear it again
Equally beautiful and haunting, it feels like it covers the full range of emotions in a brisk 40 minutes. She sounds great, the piano sounds great, it’s perfect
The smiths just sound so aggressively like the smiths. I don’t know how else to explain it. This is solid and was easy to have on repeat but didn’t stand out enough to rate higher
The first 6 tracks all sound great. There is some cheesy rapping and other things that would be easy to hate on, but it doesn’t matter because it sounds great and is very catchy with nice melodies. However, the second half falls off a bit and has the negatives without the highs.
I love this album so much. It is great start to finish with it continuously finding new ways to surprise and delight. There are back to back songs with Norah Jones and D’Angelo and they are both incredible and fit perfectly in sequence and it’s hard to imagine that working until you listen, but like this whole album, everything works
Perfect oldie folksy album. An easy listen that feels timeless
I think I like Pearl Jam is fine but an hour of them feels like a lot. This has some good songs but I was a bit more relieved when it ended then I’d hope
I think my favorite Beatles album. Although I hate it opens with taxman (I wouldn’t like it anywhere but especially feels like wrong tone setting). Eleanor
Rigby is a perfect song. Although I’m realizing this maybe means I don’t think the Beatles have any 5 star albums which feels strange but they have a bunch of 4
A nice, gentle and easy listen. It is good but didn’t stand out to me. I’m not smart enough to explain why this is so much worse than stardust, but it is
Liked it but didn’t love it. I like how it floats between folk and country and indie rock and sounds like it could be new. But it also didn’t really grab me
Very good. Sounds old in a way I thought would get boring for 40+ minutes, but it stays interesting and enjoyable the whole way through
Easy listen. It ends very strong but overall it doesn’t stand out too much and is only 29 minutes. But it’s good and timeless
Good with some great moments, but you can feel the hostility in it and it doesn’t quite work. Knowing the history makes this more interesting, but musically it was something I enjoyed but won’t go back to
This is the first time I feel like I kind of get Radiohead. They’ve never really worked for me but I appreciated the melancholy of this. Some of it (like Pulk/Pull) really didn’t work for me, but a lot did
Even though it is the most played song of my life, seven nation army is still great. There is some good stuff here but some cheesy or try hardy things too
This sounds like of Geordie Greep was earnlestly offensive as opposed to satirically offensive, which I’m not sure is better or worse. Some of the sounds are good but overall not for me
